Just discussed this today with another queen! I was told “I’m breaking one of my rules here by dating a coworker..” (when he never formally asked me out) It seems to be said with the purpose of making you feel like you should be very grateful, like you’re getting above and beyond so you better be happy.

🥺 Thank you so much. You’re right on the age gap being a red flag. I asked him out though in thanks, because he bought me a very thoughtful and expensive gift for thanksgiving. So I started it, really. I have to be better. I will utilize these resources you’ve shown me today, and thank you again!

First off, I can’t even thank you enough for taking the time to list those resources. I don’t have family and my closest friends from childhood are married. I am really struggling because I brutally realized what you said a few months ago; I’ve wasted over a year of my 20s completely in love with this man. I’m very scared, because I got way behind on ME. These kind of resources help me so much, and you are very right. I will say, I’m in therapy, started a garden this summer, and am improving my …

Thank you for the feedback. May I ask why? I feel like the LV one in this situation, because of my unresolved trauma.

Yeah understand. It’s just depressing because I got pregnant at 15 by a 19 year old. And I’m 22 now, after years of recovering from that major setback and finishing school, I’m considering dating again and I am wishing my options weren’t so limited. But so many guys my age, as soon as they learn I had a child that young, instantly lose respect and they don’t even try to hide it. So single dad is probably the best I can hope for if I ever do try to date.

So would you guys say single moms can only date single dads too?

Thank you so much for this. I think I’m getting pulled back in because he knows how to play HVM very well, he’s offering to do so much for me now...but I can’t fall for it. I love this community so damn much.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/06/20 12:59 PM

My oneitis who is almost 20 years older than me texted me for my birthday and that he wants to “take me out”. This is 6 months after saying we should just be friends and that maybe in 6-7 years (when I’m older) we will be compatible. Despite introducing me to his family members . I have been NC for months, very depressed, and I’m barely resisting the urge. 🙂🙃

What does cutting contact mean exactly? Like you mutually decided to stop talking to each other and voiced it?

Queen shit.

If an otherwise HVM randomly tells you that he tried committing suicide 10 years ago, would that be a huge red flag? Not sure. He said he went to therapy for 2 years after. Pretty sure it was because of a bad break up. But is still single and has commitment issues at 41 🙄maybe not hv like I thought.

I get this is frustrating to read when you have the understanding you guys do. I’m glad I posted here.

Does it make it any better that I offered? He literally told me I didn’t have to when I started. Idk, I’m trying to learn here

What could be an ulterior motive for being friends? I understand if it was still sexual but it really isn’t. I didn’t think 41 was that old I guess. I have never had a boyfriend.

I don’t understand how a 41 year old man thinks he has time to wait. He’s already way late. I thought he truly wanted a friendship because he really followed through on his “no more physical intimacy” rule. So even a friendship is inappropriate?

Waiting?? But he’s 41! He did say “Maybe in 6-7 years when we’re on more similar levels emotionally, but...” I would not think he has time to wait...I’m sure not waiting

Ok! Good to know

No, because he told me we shouldn’t be physical at all! We had been on a small level already. He rejected dating me because of our age gap (20 years). And the fact that he wouldn’t care if I dated someone else ?But said he wanted to remain my great friend.

And I feel strongly towards him. I would very much like to be with him. But since he rejected that, I’m focusing on myself and not turning down other possibilities. But I’m certainly not over him at all.

He doesn’t right now. All the details are on my last post about the situation. But yeah it’s a long ass read, he’s the one who changed it to be just platonic. Rejected me basically, but asked to stay friends

He actually specifically said we shouldn’t be physical together at all. We had fooled around before already. He said he wants that to cease entirely and have a great friendship instead. All details on my other post on here though.

I have one previous post in this sub that describes the entire situation. It’s a pretty long read though. Basically, we were going out often and it did go beyond kissing at a point. Not too far, but I did give him a blowjob briefly..I’m 21 and he’s 41. We met at work. After months of considering whether or not to date me he decided the age gap was too much of a problem for him and said we should remain great friends. He hasn’t pursued me physically at all since. Complete details in that post tho…

What if he genuinely liked me in? I’m off limits no matter what because of his rank? And what he used me for, I’m not sure of yet, because we never had sex. He never pressured or asked. So I’m just taken aback. It felt like love. Thanks for your response

So there’s no exception to that rule huh?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/02/20 03:58 PM

You think so? I would’ve felt the same for him if he was my rank too though. I never really felt like he was trying that. At one point he said that was a concern, because he wanted me to feel equal! But you could be right.

I see. You’re right. I’m just having a very hard time accepting that, I guess. My hearts broken.
