I’m gonna go out on a limb and say terrible strict parenting where the dad was hard to please and the mom was awful.

Not a POC, I can’t know how it feels but I sympathize and believe you. Just a nerdy suggestion....have you ever tried playing DnD? It’s social but you can role play as any kind of character you want. The people you play with get to know the real you. Maybe this a dumb idea but it’s helped me feel not so strange, it might work for you too, even if it’s just for a little while. Peace and love.

You have been made paranoid. Not to say that no women cheat, because of course some do just as some men cheat. But automatically thinking every woman will cheat on you is terrible science - You’re deciding outcomes for something that hasn’t happened yet. I would recommend something I think every redpilled dude should do. Go and create a relationship with a woman you do not think of sexually. Someone older, not your type, family, whatever. Get to know her as a person really thoroughly. Make her w…

This is amazing and all credit to you. There are so many nasty turns a persons life can take, not just TRP. It reflects on you and your character that you became a bigger better person because of it. You’re winning at being a good human!!

Definitely find girls who like what you like! I actually think you called this one right. If she wasn’t actually into you, you now have an anime friend. And if she was, she’ll probably come back to the store. she is thinking, oh my god that guy was sooo great. Have patience! You’re doing good.

But it doesn’t make logical sense. Unless there’s another guy there trying to get his dock in at the same time, it’s not a competition for eggs. I hear you about not projecting...but this guy specifically lists things he thinks are going on in girls heads. He thinks women with experience in bed can’t love him as much. He doesn’t want to be compared...because he fears coming up short? I’m trying to help him.

Sorry, but these are all just your own projections. You are mistaking your own insecurities for someone else’s reality. If you can’t get over thinking about other guys, and how you may be judged lesser, for real you need a therapist, not a virgin. I say this sincerely and without contempt. You will be a happier person.

Hundo agree. When men complain about men predominantly dying in wars because they are sent there I’m like...and who made those rules??? Men. Who run the corporations that have exploited male bodies as fodder? Still mostly men. Who beats up on men for “fag” behaviour. I’m going to go out on a limb and say mostly men. It’s also true that women perpetuate the stereotypes. But when men have been running the show for thousands of years, I think they can safely say that they are the ones who need to d…

I think a true comparison would take someone with more knowledge than me. I will say that i don't fear travelling in the southern united states the way I fear travelling to Saudi Arabia, but that's because you can't tell from looking at me that I'm not Christian.

Was thinking...i bet you and I would never get to an eye to eye situation on a lot of issues. But i am happy to carry out any real, concrete action that helps men with their problems (provided it doesn't go against my views too hard). Donate to a men's shelter? Retweet something? I'm sorry to tell you this if you are Christian but Christianity has just as bad an image as Islam. I've got to ask about rape and incest here - they don't make your list? And I will respond to the rest with what I say and hear often - if people who believe abortion is wrong went all out to make it unnecessary economically, socially, medically - I'd buy into that stance a lot more. As it is - it's actually NOT the State's right to say - it is the woman's. It's her body, her life (and the rest of her life) which is on the line. I'm just as confused as you on that front, except that I suppose I want everyone to have the intellectual freedom to believe what they want....until they want to restrict anything that I do? I mean I think all religion is a self-soothing lie, but I don't want to get all SS on them?

And I would say that America is not officially a theocracy....but take a look at Alabama, and all the other states pushing real real hard to outlaw abortion. Western feminism has been attempting to redress the awful inequalities that have existed for hundreds of years. For women. I have a feeling women will feel like seeing it from your side when men admit they've made some pretty shit moves where women are concerned. And when they are truly addressed. For me that would mean rewriting the Bible or letting go of it altogether. So....I think all this might take some time and effort, no?

Why do we congratulate each other...LOL because sex is awesome! If my friend who has been single forever tells me she had a wonderful lunch date that turned into a great time, I'm very happy for her! I do know some women who are heavily on the apps, regularly getting laid. But that's a small percentage of the women I know. I mean, maybe we have very different social circles? A vagina is not a lock. Maybe you don’t congratulate the women in your life when they get to have sex, but women congratulate each other all the time for that. I’m going to respectfully suggest that your idea of what value sex is to women is inaccurate, or at least incomplete. And I’m going to further ask you to consider that our society, underpinned by the bible and all its sin and blame, has influenced how you think of women and sex and imagining vaginas as pure vessels that are defiled by “ke…

Listen, I agree that men get exploited. Their bodies get thrown on the fire like they are wood chips. I wish that feminism and MRM could see how close their goals actually are. I get so frustrated with the mutual finger pointing. We could all make our lives better tomorrow together.

Well, when the gender of the people at the top enforces their shame on the bodies of the women in the system, and then shames men for being anything other than a narrow image, and outlaws sex yet finds a million ways to exploit women's bodies, yeah, i guess it does make a difference. Oh yeah, and the bodies of young boys. I don't see the Catholic church doing much for men, and that's pretty much the definition of patriarchal. Despite the snarky tone of my post, I'm not coming from a "suck it up" place. I find this sub concentrates so much on what amounts to 'women shouldn't complain'. I do think that men have a tough time. But women trying to better themselves isn't the enemy. The system, which is patriarchal, hurts us all. THAT's who you guys should be mad at. However, I get why you read it as you did, sometimes my snark gets the better of me.

I’m not denying the effect our reproductive biology has on our social roles. But there are many ways to respond to that and our entire culture is founded on a framework out of that book, It’s not the only way to look at ourselves. Gender based valuation of a human is a limited and limiting view point, but is very demonstrably promoted by our judeochristian culture. Religion is linked to a persons most fundamental view of the world. We know that people are kooky enough to look at the same set of …

I think a book that underpins the entire socio-political structure of North America is worth discussing in any conversation of gender roles. I think religion is a huge reason for gender roles. And that book sure is patriarchal.

It's pointless to find an answer for you by asking the women here....you'll have to get in touch with those other women and ask them specifically. We can't know what they were thinking, and in fact, neither can you. You have theories; they *may* be accurate, but you can't really know unless you ask them.

I know this is a men’s rights subreddit, but in the interest of fostering understanding, just want to say that women have this same problem. Men speak about their bodies for them and are listened to. Feel tons of sympathy for you on this issue, it’s nonsensical and needless.

This is awesome, great masculinity. “Toxic masculinity” refers to the idea that men cannot maintain their status as a man if they show anything that can be construed as weakness- grief, fear, insecurity, affection etc. Toxic femininity is the idea that a woman can’t maintain being a proper woman if she shows any behaviour that makes her look strong. Masculinity is not inherently bad, in instances like this article describes, it’s awesome!

I am so sick of this de-valuing of short men. I love tall men too, but I have frequently dated and am currently married to a man three inches shorter than me and it's awesome. He is awesome. A tall asshole is still an asshole. A short prince is a joy forever.

Because all the complaining about it is centred on how women have it better, not on the people who made the laws. If you guys are mad about it, go after the politicians. It's not a race to the bottom. Everyone should have better health care.

Thanks for this thoughtful answer. Most of this I straight up agree with but one point I feel you're missing. When you say that men who gender police other men are doing it out of a wholesome desire to help, that just doesn't ring true for me. It seems to me that men police other men and themselves because they are terrified of BEING a woman, a faggot etc. They condemn that behaviour, especially in groups, because they want to make sure everyone knows they are not into that. I don't know about this....it seems to me that men do most of the condemning of other men. The other little boys in the school yard, the dad who wants his son to 'be a man', the friends who call a guy a faggot for showing emotion....by the time women get to see his emotions, seems to me he's already been processed by the guy factory. Same as for women - the first people who told me i wasn't acting 'ladylike' were other girls. We police ourselves. Men usually are delighted by non-feminine behavio…

Could say the same back to you guys. This sub seems majority complaining about women/feminists rather than fixing things and making life better than men. You put all your energy into whining and complaining. Is this men's rights or should you call it 'women are the centre of our angry lives'?

If you are looking to release anger, I can highly recommend therapy, especially with a female therapist. It helps you talk through it and get it out in the open where you can grapple with it. Also, try finding a place to relate to women in a completely different way. It sounds as if you have primarily been seeing women as sexual partners, whether or not you are successful with them. Try volunteering in an organization that helps women you would never consider sexually. If you learn to care about…

Imagine we are all on a see-saw. One group is high up on the other end, the other group is all the way down. The only way to balance it is for the people on the bottom to push themselves up. For the people on the high end, balance feels like they are coming down, it's scary. But that's what equilibrium is. And thanks for not turning down my heart, I guess?

I %100 agree with you and it’s specifically because I’m a feminist. Bodily autonomy should be every child’s right, girls and boys. Interestingly, when I used this as an example of how my husband and I lead feminist lives I was told that it was not a feminist behaviour. I disagree though. I think that equal rights applies perfectly to this issue. I think also that if I’m aiming to get rid of the body shame that plagues women and men’s lives this is the place to start. I don't think cutting off children's body parts for a religious/cultural belief in what their bodies should be. I'd like to be in charge of my own genitals, and I think he should be too. That is what is feminist about it.

Also, the battle is not over. I'm in a pretty great position personally and I reap all the benefits of feminism. But many many women don't, and they aren't even far away from me. I consistently encounter men, and women, who think I am indeed less because of my uterus, who want to tell me what to do with my body, mind, etc. I'm not American, but any woman who lives under the spectre of Mike Pence should be vigilant. The Handmaid's Tale feels awfully plausible to anyone paying attention. There are…

I think I need you to articulate what you think a feminist is, because you aren't accepting what I'm telling you and I'm not sure why. This thread invited moms to come on and talk. I did. You decided to try to define my feminism for me. Why? You don't me. I'm telling you I'm a feminist. You clearly think of yourself as not one. So what do you picture us as? And why do you need to have my feminism change to fit your views? Serious question.

Ah sorry, I wasn’t clear. So yeah, my next question is have you ever worried about being beat up for turning someone down romantically. And I ask this because for a lot of women, even a polite “no thanks” can get you called a bitch, or worse. We are never sure who is going to be reasonable and who is going to attack you, who is going to be cool and who is going to turn into a weird stalker. /r/MensRights06/01/19 12:09 PM

I will say though, one thing guys have to remember is that many many women don't feel safe having a conversation with guys in this context. So many women have the same thing happen - a guy hits on you, you try to talk and say no, and at best he doesn't get it and keeps trying, at worst he gets angry and abusive, even violent. So asking women to trust guys to leave respectfully - well, it's a big ask.

And how do you suggest women let men know that what they are trying isn't working? How are men supposed to learn what doesn't work if they don't get accurate feedback on the bad moves? If you come off as creepy, what's the response? You say it yourself - you want men to learn, to take the negative feedback in stride and not stop. What better way to learn than a clear "that's creepy, don't try that tactic again"?

Why isn't this thread also discussing how to help those kids? There's a lot of blaming here and not a lot of solutions. Anyone could go out there and be a Big Brother or Sister. Anyone on here could go out and agitate for greater access to birth control and sex education. Anyone here could babysit for a single mom. EDIT: forgot for a second what subreddit I was on. My bad. Absolutely. My husband is 5'6" (5'7" on a good day :) and I'm 5'9". And he wasn't the first short guy I've been with. Being "creepy" usually means the creepy person in question is completely unaware of the feelings of others, or doesn't care, and crosses lines. From what I've read of TRP, empathy for women is a pretty low priority. TRP seems to be about tangible results and doesn't really have room for the feelings of the "other" in it. It seems to originate from, and celebrate, being profoundly disconnected from women. For the record, I've encountered plenty of creepy guys who would fit the BP mold. They think…

But after you dump her, if you find you need help with the psychological part of it - "Its the fact that someone thats supposed to love me would even try to hurt me. And also the fact that I feel like no one would ever consider this abuse where I'm from." - which is TOTALLY VALID, I hope that you find someone to talk it through. This kind of injury is more insidious than bruises and can last longer or have unexpected consequences. You deserve care and compas…

Yes, but the feminists celebrating it part. Sources for that?

It's possible she was in post partum psychosis. But either way I have seen nothing on Facebook of people sharing and celebrating this article. Do you have a source for that? Killing a baby of either gender is tragic.

I think you'll find that a lot of people care.

One thing you hardly ever hear discussed is male on male domestic abuse. http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2013/11/a-same-sex-domestic-violence-epidemic-is-silent/281131/

Just saw this! Sorry for the late reply. "What we mean is that all things in life are ephemeral. They come and go. You cannot hold them. You cannot possess them. All things will end, whether it be through someone leaving or death or something else. Enjoy the time you have with them ... but never put anything on a pedestal." I like that.

Might not have time today but I will come back to this.

Thanks. Curious: is that motto one you believe in personally?

No, not at all, I'm trying to follow a few thought threads and it's harder to do in text than in conversation. Slower and less clear. I think I have more than one question and they should be in separate posts.

But that's just my take on it. Do you like this situation?

TBH that sounds kind of lonely.

So are you in a relationship now? Is it a "red pill" relationship? And what does that mean in day to day stuff?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/16 04:15 PM

Just want to be clear, I'm a woman. Do you want to continue the conversation?

Totally thanks! I know that this area of thought can get people really angry and trolly and I really appreciate you taking the time to I guess I'm one of those people you're describing in the last paragraph? because I think, a) yeah, you have to date multiple wrong people to find the right person b)of course people are going to reject you, not everyone will want to be with you even if you feel for them and c) of COURSE people will hurt you. Just because people are kind generally doesn't mean tha…

Okay, great, yes! - so now, how when you got together with the lady who texted you, how did the red pill philosophy dictate or inform how you approached her? Obviously you weren't looking at her as an inferior person or a necessary evil as some RP's seem to, so how did you approach the relationship while still respecting her as a person?

It sounds like you've had a really rough time in life. Have they treated you really badly?

Sorry, got a bit facetious there. Okay, just so I'm on the same page, what would kindness look like to you? How would you like them to be?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/16 03:34 PM

Aha...I think I'm being baited a bit :) So, why are you talking to me if I'm worthless subhuman etc?

Does your lady know that's how you think of the relationship? Or is it more an internal guide for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/16 03:30 PM

Okay, guess I need you to get into more detail then because I'm interested in this thought train but not %100 clear on what you mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/16 03:28 PM

So are you saying you wish women would care about you? Or rather you used to wish they cared about you, but you don't want anything from women now?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/16 03:20 PM

Okay, let's also get into specifics - when you say kindness, what would count as that? What would kindness from a woman be? (I'm not trying to be a nit picker, just want to hear fully what you mean.)

Well, yeah, romantic rejection stings...for everyone though. That's the nature of it.

I'm responding to the title question - I think that generally men are very emotional, not less than women, but express it differently.

Maybe I have an exceptional community also?, but I have really wonderful people around me, lots of great men and women both. Almost never experience bullshit from either side on a personal level. (although I witness tons from both sides in the wider world, maybe we should all just agree that lots of people as a rule are kind of assholes?)

Please yes reply, elaborate. I would genuinely like to know.

I think you just have to look at the huge volume of art and music and poetry that men have created about love/lust, or the wars have been fought for revenge, or the mountain of words written by men about ecstatic religious experiences, and I think you can safely say that men are very emotional. Look at how much anger and hurt men talk about over on TRP. I think the difference is that men and women release it differently.

I can only speak from my own experience, I game because I love the game. I wouldn't spend 170 hours in Skyrim just to make a point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
