Haha I feel this so much. I’m a moderately attractive mid 20s woman, and it always cracks me up when someone is like, “ooh so (random guy name) thinks you’re pretty. What do you think about that?” Uhh... I don’t think anything about that.

Totally agree. I commented earlier about how much my taste in men changed from 21 (her age when they started dating) to 25. If I had married any of the men I was attracted to or dated before 25, I definitely would have ended up divorced in a few years. I look at those guys now (some of them weren’t even bad guys, just not right for me) and the thought of even kissing them grosses me out.

He started dating her when she was around 21. At 21 I hadn’t had my first drink yet and was attracted to skinny musicians with neck tattoos and long hair. At 23 I was attracted to douchey juiced up gym bros. Now I’m 25 and repulsed by the same guys I was head over heels for when I was younger. I firmly believe that until your mid to late twenties, you’re simply not done “cooking”. This man was almost 30, and he got into a relationship with a woman whose frontal lobe was not done developing. I do…

Seriously! Why do I keep seeing the word “play” in regard to sex? It’s so creepy sounding that it makes my skin crawl. It makes me picture some pervy guy trying to coax a kid into his van.

It’s because they’re so common! I’m sure a few of them would have become controlling if I had let them get that far. Especially because I would gravitate toward cocky, “dominant” men (assholes, basically). But even before FDS I would lose interest pretty quickly when I realized a guy wasn’t looking for anything serious. I think that’s what stopped me from sleeping with any of them. Thank goodness. I think I was so into these types of guys because they reminded me of the guys I always thought I w…

Narcissistic gym bros and former frat guys. Always drives a Range Rover or souped up Jeep Wrangler that he never takes off-road. Always Republican. Emotionally unavailable but always talks about an ex who broke his heart in middle school/high school/college. Always has one of those haircuts that’s short on the sides and fades up to longer hair on top w/ a beard. Wants to “hang out” sometime.

Had a guy from work that I briefly dated (pre FDS) who did the slow fade and ghost after finally sleeping together. I was a pickme and had a huge crush on him for a long time, so I was devastated. I never gave him any indication that I was upset or hurt, I just kind of shrugged it off and moved on. We didn’t see each other at work much at all because it’s such a large company. Months later, at a mutual friend’s going away party, this guy approached my best friend and was telling her how awkward …

I have to disagree here. Cheating is shitty LV behavior, period. I don’t want a man who cheats, and I’m not going to be a woman who cheats. A HVW respects herself and removes herself from a relationship that isn’t working for her instead of resorting to cheating and lying. Just because many of us have been burned by LV cheaters in the past doesn’t mean we have to stoop to their level.

Something similar happened to me recently! The guy was so arrogant when I wanted him, but now that I ignore his breadcrumbs he acts like a kicked puppy around me. I used to hate feeling like I was being a cold bitch, but now I’m happy to let them wallow in the embarrassment and awkwardness that they caused themselves. If you hadn’t been a fuckboy the first time around you wouldn’t have this problem my dude!

You need to toss this one back in the water, sis. He lost interest and now he’s stringing you along until he finds someone he wants more (if he hasn’t found them already). A man who genuinely wants you and values you would never have you asking this question in the first place. My suggestion is to ghost him, or if you’re not up to that yet just send him a succinct, one sentence breakup text and then cut him off for good. It’s so much better for you than sticking around and letting him “explain” …

Something that has helped me get past my need to be kind to men who don’t treat me well is to think of ghosting/blocking him as protecting and standing up for someone I care about (myself) just like I would a friend or sister. When you look at it this way, you’re not being mean, you’re actually being kind. Just because the kindness is for yourself doesn’t mean it isn’t kindness. Think about it. Would you feel “rude” after standing up for a little sister or best friend? Or would it feel good to p…

For me it was the fact that many men will lose respect for you and lose interest in you when you’re direct and clearly show that you’re attracted to them. I didn’t have much dating experience before FDS, but I always saw posts on reddit where guys would be like “the sexiest thing a woman can do is be direct” and “women should approach men more” My first dating experience was matching with a guy I’m in the same social circle with. Before we matched, he had been flirty and seemed to have a crush o…

What kind of volunteering? I’m trying to find volunteer opportunities that will help make friends and organically meet men my age (mid twenties).

Your flair kills me. Also I 100% agree. I don’t want a relationship with a man who only caught feelings for me because I was emotionally unavailable. I would never feel like I could let my guard down and relax with someone like that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
