You are absolutely awesome the way you are. Lifting weights may not necessarily define becoming better. Physical fitness counts, yes. And so does being a good person. These go together. May I suggest other sports like swimming / cycling that are easy on your joints (compared to weight lifting) and burn calories? I'm absolutely certain you will accomplish your set goals.
