Thank you! I’m happy I could help.

Check-In I don’t have much to share, but here goes. I’ve been focusing a lot more on myself and working on making more friends IRL(ish). I’m making progress on the short term goals I need to accomplish my long term goals. I bought new supplies for my language class and found 2 podcasts about my hobbies in both target languages.

Are we walking down Rodeo Drive while you pay for and carry my purchases? Are we walking to The Preserve where you'll pay for my 12 month membership upfront? To the new apartment building I've had my eye on, that you just had to gift me? . . . No? You can see yourself out.

His corporate goals became his first love. It’s important to me that a man is a provider, but if I no longer feel cared for and valued? I’m done. I refuse to compromise.

My best partner so far was my most recent ex. He was sweet, giving and was in love with the way I tasted. He wasn't the largest I'd been with but he was the most attentive lover I've had. And a very pretty penis too. This man? He could soak my panties with a single touch. And when he kissed me? I turned into a shivering, gibbering wreck. All this before the clothes came off too.. We had a good thing

Could? Unfortunately, he probably will. I've a strong feeling she doesn't have any sort of protections in place in the event of a civil divorce. And he'd most likely sue for joint custody too. I feel sad and scared for her child.Given her status as an independently wealthy woman, she could easily have lived as a single mother without marrying him. I'm generally in favor of an intact nuclear family, but not in this case. As a mother, your first and only priority is the safety and well-being of yo…

Brief update on my situation: I’m somewhere safe and worked things out with members of my family who were sincerely remorseful. But I can’t stop worrying about them. In other news: I’ve got two job interviews lined up. The project I’m involved with is showing strong growth, so I may see financial improvements by the end of the year in addition to a career change.

I’ve been trying to get my family to warm up to the idea of mediation and family counseling. It’s a work in progress.

One thing I’ve found helpful is the book “Cana is Forever”. From what I’ve read so far, it’s very in tune with FDS principles. A 1940s FDS Handbook of sorts. There’s a pdf somewhere online and the paperback is $10 from Rex Regnum publishing or $14-15 on amazon. It’s hard, but no man should ever be put on a pedestal. At the end of the day, even men of the same faith have flaws. Sometimes significantly more. Guard your heart fiercely, because the path to annulment is rarely easy.

I’ve had positive results with posting a short but detailed blurb/personal on the r/catholicdating monthly thread. After corona-tide ends? Look into young adult/singles groups in your parish and diocese at large. Also, volunteering and finding social groups on meetup would be a good start. Just be patient and vet ruthlessly. Absolutely no free pass for shared faith. If anything, they should be held to a much higher standard.

As a devout catholic, I realized early on that a lot of my beliefs would result in a serious amount of physical and emotional vulnerability within a marriage. As a result I’ve learned to be even stricter with vetting men who claim to share my faith. Religious men can be high value, but that’s heavily dependent on their emotional health. Personally, I’ve found a simple way to weed out disingenuous types is to suggest attending daily mass together once a week. Maybe tailor that to your particular …

How to “pull”? Last I checked, I wasn’t a pork roast. The time spent on that sub would be better spent in therapy and self reflection.

Why do men assume that they need to speak like an extra from Friday After Next when communicating with me? Like, sir... We’re not a monolith. I’m mildly irritated.

It’s gotten to the point where I swipe left if I see social media handles anywhere in a bio. Where in my G-rated profile is there any indication that I’d like to go NC-17 right of the bar?

I’d definitely love more of this IRL. The main barrier to that is that I’m really quiet and much shyer when it comes to interacting with other women.

I’m very new to the FDS mindset, but remember hearing a lot of this from my mother. She’s been happily married 20+ years, so I figured: there has to be something to the principles she tried to teach me. One thing I’ve noticed? Gaining a stronger foundation in my faith, has really helped me be disciplined about applying FDS to my life. Edit: added a book suggestion. A book suggestion, if anyone is interested: Cana is Forever: counsels for before and after marriage by Charles Hugo Doyle. It was or…

This is why it’s important to never marry without an ironclad pre- and postnuptial agreement in place. Also keep a squirrel fund. Preferably 6-12 months’ expenses at a comfort level higher than you’re used to so you’ll have at least some cushion.

That or they’re both cheating on each other. Her, because Prince Charming turned out to be a warty toad and him because he got exactly what he wanted: a mommy rather than a wife.

I could write a dissertation on how, why and the exact number of times I've been called difficult for expecting decency and courtesy. But my favorite is when someone tried to use 'independent' as an insult. Okay? Being able to function in the absence of a man is a... negative?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
