There’s no such thing as an ideal. It depends on what you want and your preferences. I was a SAHM the first year after my first child was born. I found that to be the hardest year of my life. I went back to work full time the next year. For me, it was easier working full time and being pregnant and having a little kid than just being home.

I like men with darker skin tones. So B. C is a hard no. A is a soft no.

I’ve been married 10 years and together with my husband for 12. Just my personal experience, but the things that we do to maintain a happy marriage: -dedicated together time after the kids go to bed pretty much every night from 8-9 pm. No screen time. We talk, cuddle, or give each other a massage. Which usually leads to more most nights. The downside of this is that it takes us forever to get through a TV show. Took us 4 months to get through season one of Ted Lasso. -both of us prioritize healt…

Wrong. BMR (basal metabolic rate) decreases linearly with age. It has to do with age related sarcopenia. The effect can be slowed with strength and resistance training but it still happens. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8361073/ https://www.webmd.com/healthy-aging/how-much-does-your-metabolism-slow-down-as-you-age#091e9c5e8214c889-1-2 That doesn’t mean you have to gain weight. But you have to compensate for the slowing BMR with dietary changes.

Even after kids…it’s not really that hard to stay fit. Everyone’s metabolism slows down as we age, but you can control your diet and your fitness routine. For some people it ends up being a spiral. They get obese. Their joints hurt. So they exercise less. Their joints hurt more. They exercise even less.

The age of a guy matters here. Yeah, in their teens and 20’s and maybe even early 30’s many men want to have their fun. Ultimately most people (men and women) shift their priorities. Going out until 3am isn’t really fun when you’re 40, have kids, and have to be up at 6am to be a parent. Professional success, net worth, kids ultimately become a bigger focus the older most people get. Obviously not all, but the majority. Does any guy really want to be the 64 year old aging “player” who tries to ge…

Don’t people get tired of debating the same topics every day? There’s obviously going to be a wide variety of answers based on the individual. And those answers will range depending on religious beliefs, cultural background, upbringing, and personal preferences. Personally, I slept with my now husband 6 days after meeting him. We’ve been together for 12 years and married for 10. I called my mom after our first date and told her I just met the man I’m going to marry. She told me to slow it down. …

I get a Brazilian once a month. Shave my legs twice a week and armpits once a week. My husband definitely prefers the smooth look. I’m happy to do it to please him.

That’s abhorrent as well. Blind hate shouldn’t be tolerated, irregardless of who’s spewing it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/22 04:41 AM

Hate speech is hate speech. The fact that one may be more extreme doesn’t justify the tolerance of the other. The fact they refer to men as scrotes in order to dehumanize them and arbitrarily assign value is disconcerting. As is stifling any dissenting opinions. All of those patterns are the hallmark of hate groups or cults.

I did have great, loving parents. My husband did too. I agree with you…we tend to gravitate to those with similar viewpoints, upbringings, and values.

I trust my husband with: -my life (when we rock climb he leads and sets up the cams and QuickDraws). When we winter climb, or do a glacier he’s the one who assesses for avalanche risk or sets the route to avoid cornices. My life is literally in his hands. -our money. All our accounts are joint. But he manages our stock and real estate portfolios. I honestly don’t even know the password to our brokerage accounts. Or to our credit card accounts. -our kids. I can take a weekend girls trip and know …

In my opinion, this is a complex issue that doesn’t have a one size fits all approach. I’ve never been assaulted or raped by a man. Never been cheated on. Never been emotionally or verbally abused. Never really felt harassed either. I’ve had men who I rejected after a first date text me several times afterwards saying they wanted me. While I found those type of guys stupidly bemusing, I never felt threatened by them. There is unfortunately a substantial percent of the female population that have…

Free therapist? Study after study has shown the prevalence of depression is higher in women. https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2021.589687/full#h2 Women are more likely to have concomitant anxiety: https://www.heraldopenaccess.us/openaccess/sex-differences-in-anxiety-disorders-a-review If anyone benefits more from free therapy in a marriage it’s women. Women do cook more and do more housework overall worldwide. Though that gap is actually closing in the US, particularly in marri…

Does it really matter who benefits more as long as both benefit? Let’s say my husband and I both entered the same lottery and both had a winning ticket. Let’s say my winning ticket paid 1 million dollars and his paid 1.25 million dollars. I could: A. focus on the fact the the same lottery we entered together paid him a little more, and be miserable about this. And remind him of his systemic advantages every minute I can. B. not enter the lottery at all, knowing that I wouldn’t extract as much be…

My husband is 6’1, fit, handsome, and successful (he’s a physician). Most people find him charming and he’s a loyal, trustworthy guy. He had no shortage of women interested in him. Those who say men have no bargaining power or will settle for anyone don’t know what they’re talking about. Maybe guys who have nothing going for them. What I brought to the table: two master’s degrees, conventional attractiveness, professionally successful, thin/fit, no mental health issues, a stable upbringing, kind…

Actually, recruiters will contact you when you’re a physician in a specialty that’s in shortage. He still gets 2-3 emails a day asking him if he has availability or is looking for something new.

And those initial 10-12 after residency got into a bidding war for his services. They didn’t just sit in the passenger seat doing nothing, hoping he’d accept their base offer.

Maybe for an entry level job. When my husband finished residency from Beth Israel he had 10-12 job offers. I’ve been in a similar position after I finished my 2nd masters degree. Employers know you’re in demand and will definitely try to impress you with what they offer as much you’ll try to impress them. Tall, good looking, highly successful, charming men have no shortage of female attention. That doesn’t mean you should compromise who you are for him. But you’re going to dress well for the dat…

Obviously being President is different. But I view a long term, healthy relationship to be as equally important as a job. You actually have to put in effort and dress to impress to get both. Married women live longer than widowed or single female counterparts. They have a higher net worth too. https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/news/20191010/marriage-tied-to-longer-life-span-new-data-shows https://socwomen.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/fact_2-2010-wealth.pdf

What’s wrong with the term: A) it’s demeaning to women in that it derides our autonomy. The FDS types don’t seem to understand why women like doing nice things for those they like. I paid for the 2nd date with my husband because I liked him and envisioned a future with him. Honestly I would have been turned off had he insisted on paying for everything or if he declined my attempts to pay. And he’s a high earning physician and I’m a teacher. Both parties SHOULD be trying to impress the other. The…

Totally agree. 9 is pretty hot. And #1 is pretty cute. The rest aren’t my type but to each their own. I’m going just by the face and not the video.

Eh. Disagree. #11 was probably the 2nd most attractive one to me. Very handsome. Looks are subjective to a degree.

Just goes to show that looks are subjective to a degree. I would rate #11 as an 8. He was the 2nd most attractive guy there. I found #2 to be one of the ugliest ones.

I can’t stand that phrase. In my experience most men I’ve met have been pretty decent. And I definitely felt the need to impress my husband when we first met. Probably as much or maybe even more than he wanted to impress me. He did pay for the first date but I paid for the 2nd. 12 happy years later, I’m glad I tried hard to impress him then. And still do. Though he does a lot for me as well.

There are no randomized, placebo controlled studies that argue for or against casual use of pornography. It ultimately comes down to what an individual is comfortable with. And using the medium in a responsible fashion. I don’t care for the step parent role play or barely legal stuff. Though it’s not like those actors are even related. It’s just a stupid title. I prefer lesbian porn with older adults. But thanks for the studies. I’ll print them out and the next time I let my husband cum on my fa…

Your studies cited are complete crap. One has an n value of 10, another an n of 8, and yet another an n of 21. Which means all three of those carry ZERO statistical significance. The grey matter one didn’t open so no comment on that. None of them had p values or CI’s. And none were randomized, double blinded, placebo controlled studies. Please…I have a degree in statistics. If you want to be scientific use valid studies. There’s ample evidence that behavioral based repetitive activities can indu…

I don’t think jerking off to porn is cheating. I’d be mad if viewing porn led to us having sex less. But I see no problem with my husband watching it to get himself off while he was on a business trip or while I was on my period. Hell, when he’s away on business I’ll watch porn with my Hitachi magic wand in hand to get off. There’s a huge difference between an addition and casual use. It’s like alcohol. If you drink 3 glasses of a wine every day you have a problem. But drinking a couple glasses …

My kids are 8 and 7. They require maybe 2 hours of “work” a day. They’re in school 7 hours. And after school they’ll have some kind of activity (depends on the season) for an hour. All they really need: their breakfast and lunches prepped-takes 15-20 minutes total. Some prompting to do their homework-maybe 10-15 minutes total. And making their dinner-maybe another 15-20 minutes at the most. We read together before bedtime as a whole family but that’s not work-that’s quality bonding time and actu…

Keeping tally of what you’re doing versus what your partner is doing is asinine and just leads to resentment. If things are exceptionally lopsided that’s a problem. If they’re 60/40 or even 70/30 who really cares. You’re in a marriage or a LTR together. And I detest the term unpaid labor. If you enjoy doing something is it really work? My husband likes to cook. Partly because he’s a health nut and partly because he’s a foodie. If anything he’ll get a little annoyed if I make dinner before he get…

Been with my husband 12 years. Have two kids. I was attracted to him from the moment we matched online. He’s tall, well built, conventionally handsome, well educated, well traveled, and professionally successful-he’s a doctor. I actually was the one pursuing him more. Asked him out. Made the first move to kiss him at the end of the first date. Made the first sexual move 6 days after meeting. I had two LTR’s before him but was never married. He was an unabashed womanizer in his single days, thoug…

FDS is nothing but raging hypocrisy. There was a post today about how women (and this is an exact quote) “shouldn’t isolate ourselves in an echo chamber of people who have exactly the same opinions”. The irony of posting that on a sub that stifles any dissent and dismisses anyone who disagrees with them as a scrote or pickme seemed to be completely lost on the minions who responded. The delusion that permeates that sub is unreal.

It’s the ability to create attraction via an emotional connection with a woman through flirty conversation in an expedient manner. To be fair there likely has to be some baseline physical attraction for one to be good at this. Not to sound rude, but a 5’2 obese man with yellow teeth won’t be able to create that emotional connection no matter what. The guys who are good at it usually: -find a shared interest and connect it to an emotional response. My husband and I are both climbers. On our first…

At the end of the day a guy’s face carries the day. Good looking men can get away with more. Can be less ripped, have less hair, be a bigger asshole. Skin color also plays a role in whether a man’s baldness is a hinderance. Men of color can be bald with no change in their perceived attractiveness: https://www.newsweek.com/bald-white-men-less-attractive-hair-black-difference-psychology-study-1642260?amp=1

Everyone will have different opinions on this. It’s ultimately an individual’s preference. Having just one partner does increase the probability of higher marital satisfaction. But it’s not exactly a huge increase. https://ifstudies.org/blog/does-sexual-history-affect-marital-happiness Table 1 and 2 are the key figures in that article. Having a 4 year college degree also increases marital happiness. Does that mean everyone should go to college? Some should. And some are better off going to trade…
