I've been on the 2/2/3 since my son was 5, he's 9 now, and it's worked out pretty well. The biggest reason and pro is that I get to see my son almost every day. The cons, as some people pointed out, is just consistency. My ex doesn't parent and constantly has things come up where the schedule needs to change so it get's a little confusing for a kid to keep track of.

Having been through something similar when my son was the same age, and trying to make it work for a lot longer than I should have, I can tell you that you're doing more disservice to your child by staying in that type of a relationship. Kids are resilient, but what they do learn, about at this age and onward, is what a healthy relationship looks like.
