For your average guy, what can you cover? Not a lot. You can cover whatever average assets you might bring into the marriage, but getting a proper prenup done is quite expensive and she can still challenge it and you will have to pay to defend it. So unless you have pretty decent assets to protect and are willing/can pay to protect them, chances are that a prenup may not be worth it.

The problem is the police are not likely to do anything let alone the DA to press charges. In the case of civil court you might get a token $1 reward for "pain and suffering" maybe if you are lucky but its not worth the court cost. The better road is to just get a restraining order, based on what you said that should be easy. If she violates that, then you have something of weight to press charges on.
