Now that sounds interesting, does it come in book format?

Fake confidence : I’m gonna go over and prove how great I am. Real confidence : I don’t feel the need to prove anything. I’m gonna go say hi because I’m attracted to her.

Ok. I get your point. Social skills etc. are something that can be developed and when you learn frameworks etc. suddenly being in a social situation becomes way less chaotic. It’s more manageable and relaxing. I’m sure it’s the same with dating, although usually I just wing it and say whatever’s on my mind. Just to go back to the first point : I’m currently getting back into online dating. Setting up my profile and choosing ‘passions’. Now I could pick motorcycling, because that’s really fuckin …

Yes. I have succeeded in some things that personally I’m quite proud of. I had a goal, a timeline and daily habits to get there. Never once did it have anything to do with women or relationships. There’s nothing to achieve FFS. Thinking you have to means you’ve already decided that you’re inadequate when it comes to women— you’re not.

The point is you’re using lays as some sort of metric so you can feel good about yourself. You’re drawing your sense of self worth from it. We’re talking about actual people here, not ‘goals’. The way you view this is fucking pathetic.

Right but the problem with that is : you’re essentially telling yourself over and over again — “I’m not good enough as I am”,. Sure you’ll probably get laid more often but if you’re being unflinchingly honest with yourself you’ll surely be thinking something along the lines of — “these girls don’t like me for who I am. The only reason they slept with me is because I ran a system designed to appear as attractive “,. So it depends on what your idea of success is. Is it to actually enjoy yourself a…

Yeah but then the growth happened because he let go of the outcome. If you box I’m sure there’s been times where you’re enjoying yourself then later you think woah, I performed really well there. It’s when we create internal pressure that things become difficult. Okay so what’s an example of a system?

guys with a system that’s consciously designed toward the outcome of sex are going to run circles around guys who are just winging it Okay but is that how you wanna conduct yourself? Is that what you want your internal world to be? — constantly keeping tabs in some mental scoreboard. Or would you prefer to just be totally relaxed in the moment, actually enjoying yourself? I can’t remember the name of the guy, but there’s a story of a famous baseballer, usually hits over 30 home runs a season, bu…

Well I’ve recently just got back into the game so I’m not gonna pretend I’m a sage or anything, but to me it’s clearly just about exposure. If you go through your life speaking to literally zero girls and are suddenly confronted with the task of chatting to a super hottie in a club, you’re inevitably gonna be bricking it. If you speak to hotties every couple of days, in time it’ll be no big deal whatsoever. Another point is about desiring an outcome. When you’re chatting to the old lady you’re n…

I dunno. When people say be yourself don’t they just mean — act how you do around friends/ when you’re actually alone etc.? I mean if you stop and chat to a kind old woman you’re probably not gonna be self-conscious so you’ll actually just enjoy the interaction. Isn’t being yourself just acting the same way around hot girls?

Yeah totally. I’ve experienced women not actually caring about your life while in a relationship first hand. Usually it’s because they’re quite self-centred and don’t actually see the other person as another person, they may like you because you’re popular or good looking or something. Essentially they’re viewing you as an accessory.

my persona meshes with me as a person I had a feeling. Only because I experienced it myself. I’m a Painter so I know very well how these things go. You kind of hook onto the painter/musician trope simply because it fits so well; it’s a natural progression. What worked for me was to go underground for a year or so. I moved to a new country totally by myself and just quietly made paintings. Nobody knew me as ‘The artist guy’ so I had to adapt, and in the process I got to know my true self a lot be…

Yeah I get you man. Why go to France when you can drink wine in Italy lol. I honestly think that if you meet people in a different context things will change quite drastically for you. That way you can say you’re a musician etc. but she’ll get to know the real you before she sees the persona (so hold off on sharing insta etc.) Also just a note on personas, I’m not sure if applies but I’ll throw it in and maybe it’ll resonate. It’s absolutely fine to have a persona, nothing at all wrong with it, …

Yeah I agree with MistyMaisel for the most part, she’s making great points. Although I do think being a successful musician is really fuckin cool — you’re living life your way and that’s awesome. Obviously the way you present yourself needs to change. You don’t need to walk around with a flower in your front pocket or anything but mellow out the fuck boy persona. Go for something more mature. And I’m no expert but it seems pretty clear that hot groupies are probably the type of girls that want t…
