This is actually a more complex issue than I think you may be considering. Numerous psych studies show that people unconsciously treat people they perceive to be attractive significantly better than people they perceive to be unattractive. This is obviously a major issue for society in general, and harms both men and women. Society places a greater weight on physical characteristics for women, which exacerbates the disparity in treatment some women face.
