A woman can raise her own SMV in her own head (entitlement), so she believes she deserves a man of high SMV (equal to (or even lower than) hers). However, this doesn't mean her real SMV (perceived by others) changes. As you stated, only men below/slightly above her actual SMV will want to 'buy'. The question is whether or not this can also happen to men, and what they (also women) should do about it. The problem is that it's (2 years later) been impossible up until now to experience that again, turning the situation into oneitis. There's another post about high standards and the first reply (by u/karmasutur3) of which states this ends in 3 ways: Hitting a personal SMV limit, Regression, or the failure of the risk/reward assessment.
