I'm a trans guy and I went to a huge outdoor music event yesterday... there was a urinal section and then all the toilets were marked for women. I was worried I'd be told off by someone and have to yell at them about my vagina... it was complete bullshit.

She's a friend from school so we just sat together in classes but we just graduated so we'll see each other like one or two more times ever. I'm not 'the gay friend' because most of that group isn't straight, I'm not even 'the trans friend' because there's at least two more trans people we both know through school. We had heaps of classes together so we hung out.

The rate of suicide pre transition is unknown though because a lot of people aren't out and the transphobia is what causes them to commit suicide

That's usually body dysmorphia which is a mental illness that leads to steroid abuse in guys and often surgeries like that is women, alongside eating disorders for both. Usually the surgeries don't fix it. Most transgender people feel better after transitioning.

Gender dysphoria is defined as a disconnect between your gender and the one you were assigned at birth, I personally experience body dysphoria, social dysphoria and voice dysphoria. When I use a prosthetic penis I feel a lot better, it helps me feel more whole, just like how I wear a chest binder every day even if sometimes it really hurts. I feel worse if I don't.

It's said you don't feel your gender until it doesn't match the body you're in; I experience something called gender dysphoria which, at worst, causes me to want to slit my throat or cut parts of my body off. Nope, I don't agree that 'mansplaining' is a thing- hence the quotes. I just applied their logic to my situation which shows that, ignoring how sexist the core concept of the idea is, there's no way I could 'mansplain' anything.

The trans specific subs that aren't ftm specific are very very mtf based and somewhat yuck about ftm stuff, Reddit as a whole, especially TiA, is pretty damn great with ftm stuff.
