I just straight out ask: "Can I get your phone number?" If she changes the subject or makes an excuse, leave it alone. If she likes you, she wants you to ask for her number so be confident about it. Call her in 2-4 days, she'll have your number then. Seriously, it's not that complicated. Keep it simple.

Wear bright colors, specifically red. I'd like to hear what MFA has to say about this. I look terrible in red, but I know it. I get flushed easily, still get the occasional spot and wearing red only brings this out more. Bright colors can make you look great, but you have to pull it off right. Dark blue jeans, deep brown leather boots, black sweater with the brightest cyan collared shirt underneath (similar to 1MX), for instance, can still accomplish this "red effect". Edit: I'd just hate to see…

It's definitely important to say thank you. I know it's hard, but try to be comfortable with people complimenting you. Confidence goes a long way. My response to something like that would be, laugh (helps hide the doubt, makes me feel better anyway) "haha, thanks! Thats really nice of you." Or "Haha, thank you, you're too kind." (Don't cheese it up, keep it casual.) Smile, feel good about yourself and just experience the god damn compliment! You're ending the sentence with her as the subject, so…

A little too corny. The drug test idea is ok, but drop it after the arms thing. A little teasing physical connection can go a long way, don't over do it! The rest might work in college, but no chance after that.

Some terrible reasons, but some good ones. Every guy should definitely know how to cook though. I love it, definitely gets me laid, definitely helped me lose weight and I've learned a lot by doing it. I've also met some pretty cool people through work and such. Go learn, it's not hard.

Bookstores. Barnes and Noble's great for that imo. Read some comics, grab a coffee. Very comfortable place to make simple conversation. You're also more likely to run into someone with similar interests depending on where you browse. Make it a habit to get out of the house and go somewhere social. That way you feel more like it's on your home turf, boosting your confidence.

Aw hell yeah so do I! If it's a girl I've never met before, then there's that whole "nothing to lose" mentality. But even if it's a girl I hooked up with last week, I'm all locked up. But I love it! That my friend is what I think makes life worth living. That rush is pretty damn sweet. But shit, w/e. I cook really well. So girls usually make the first move in my case anyway.

Very well said. The crazies can be LOADS of fun, by no short measure. But they're also the girls who get pregnant on purpose or joke about making false rape allegations... damn, nothing is scarier I tell you... never underestimate the crazy.

Honestly, I usually ignore them. My experience with women who act incredibly cocky is, more often than not, they're insane. This can get their attention as they're not used to it. Go into it thinking there's nothing to lose and who knows? Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. But just remember...
