I'll have to watch it again to be sure... That was probably 20 years ago when I last saw that episode.

People who watched their debate on TV stated Kennedy won. People who listened on the radio stated Nixon won. I think that's what /u/ChristopherBurr was referring to, the debate, not the election.

Seriously, look it up. Crazy shit. Dead people voting and whatnot.

If they didn't fight then I think it means most of them didn't think they'd stand a chance because of the system in place. I know many guys that didn't fight for it because they didn't want the kids. You have to have numbers to back this up and, while I believe the number of guys that want the kids outweigh the other end, it's not by a large factor. The only guys I've known to actually fight for custody have won.

I've lost a lot of respect for this sub as it has devolved from actual equality to woman hating bullshit.

Do men have a responsibility to prevent someone making a false claim of rape? You are responsible for yourself. If it seems too fucked up to be a good option, it's too fucked up to be a good option.

She posted a terrible example but she's right. There should be no tax on items required for a person's health.

Agreed. Don't know what's with the downvotes

Agreed, I have clippers and haven't gone to get my hair done professionally in 3 years now. Have saved so much money. But the principal of the matter is that the father is held with less accountability than the mother and made to seem like he does and should have less control over his sons choices than the mother. Guaranteed it was the kids choice to do the mohawk, and he was respecting his child's choice.

Fair enough! All I knew was what I heard and a large amount of jails switched from orange very shortly after the show came out.

I heard, and don't quote me on this, but I heard it was due to the popularity of orange is the new black basically romanticizing the orange jumpsuits.

the original Miracle on 34th Street, and as we watched the black-and-white scenes, something struck me: When a woman walked into a room, all the seated men stood. This is the line that got me. Guess what? That's a movie.

Respect is earned. I treat everyone I meet as a blank slate and from their actions and words I determine my level of respect. It's very easy to earn my respect and fairly difficult to lose it but you don't start out with my respect

No need to be that way, she's still my friend. I still get updates from her, and I can still see everything she posts about. She just didn't see things from my perspective.

You are correct. I respect people if they deserve respect, regardless of their race or gender. The difference being that I grew up knowing nothing but respect for some people, so they (family and whatnot) have my respect instantly until I have reason to doubt. That's about 6 or 7 people though.

Yeah, she definitely missed that.

Yeah, I know. But that just irritated me beyond belief and I couldn't help but retaliate instantly. This is a person I've known for years and never knew she thought like this, though, and I just can't help myself sometimes.

Exactly. Completely ridiculous. Yet, if asked about it, a man would have to earn respect. Talk about equality, eh?

Since no one responded to you, here you go: 1) It is nearly impossible (not completely, but nearly) for a single person to provide everything for a family given the high cost of everything. Everyone has to work, that's just a given. It should not be solely on the mans shoulders to provide everything for the family, it should be a choice between the spouses. 2) Sympathy is generally a good thing, but if you are brought up under the understanding that "men don't cry" or, as I was often told, "nut …

Know what I do when it comes to sexist organizations? I don't support them. I would make it a point to not buy a cookie, and in fact to promote equality, I may set up a booth across from them that says "cookies for both genders, $0.78" Undercut the bitches and watch them sweat while I make more money than them because of my better business practice.

Yes, all rape is bad, but if you're a man it's not as bad because men rape more. That's what I got out of that. Love the double standards.

You are certainly not wrong. Equality doesn't mean preferential treatment and that's exactly what this is. You are told you cannot vote on something which does affect you, and you are also being told you aren't as important as women/trans. You are every bit as important and, imo, should not take this lightly. Men do get bullied quite regularly because there is for some reason a belief that we cannot make informed decisions and will vote the way our dick points instead of for good reasons. Make a…
