When I was in my early twenties I got into a brief quasi-relationship with a someone four years my senior. The age difference didn't set off any creepy vibes for me but what really should have was that he was always mentioning in different ways how I looked like a teenager 🤮.

You're right. It looks like it breaks down in the "irrational beliefs" step. These beliefs wouldn't just stem from singular incidents, but be in the context of a whole relationship, so they'd likely be more rational than not. And they list "shoulds" as an irrational belief in that first example, as if you can't have standards.
