I may be down voted for this but... if your solicitor is on board (good job asking him first!) I would do it. Keep your child with you. This IS a fight worth taking up. The world is in a literal pandemic, and she's not taking the rules seriously. She is breaking the law. You don't have to expose your child or yourself just because she wants her booty call living with her. And what's she going to tell the magistrate (did I get that right?) when this is over? "Yeah I broke the pandemic rules, so w…

Do you have any health issues, or take care of anyone at risk if they were to catch it? I'd be more concerned, with 50/50, that she is bringing someone else into the home (not as a guest, but she said "move in"). Does that break any of the stipulations in your... decree (not sure what it's called over there). Also, do you have his name/information (not talking birthday/Id here, just the basics)? If you don't know anything about him, you're trusting your child partially to a complete stranger.

Yes, if she accuses domestic violence (the furniture comment was a red flag to me), I want him to know what to expect. And just share it overall, because I'm finding more and more that people don't know it exists, or is widely used as the model for how to deal with domestic violence claims. There is no framework going the other way that I've seen. Truth be told, I don't think there has been many studies on it since. This quote I think sums it up nicely... from the link I have up there: On the so…

Be very careful, and make yourself aware of the Duluth Model. This is what is used by most LEO and courts. It's awful, and I'm sorry you're going through this. I have personal knowledge of it due to my ex-wife. She (an alcoholic) would call the police if I didn't do what she wanted (such as going out and buying her more precious vodka). If not for my son recording her rants and her fight club performance, I would have been arrested and lost everything. Document everything in triplicate. Call you…

I would develop a gambling habit until the bank accounts dry before I file for divorce. r/UnethicalLifeProTips Not that I disagree. Granted, with almost everything shut down, if you're not in vegas the lottery is looking like a good option.

Not always. Sometimes one parent is extremely abusive. Remember that. /signed - a parent who lived through hell, and has their child in therapy because to this day if they see someone who even looks like their mother they go into a panic.

The hurt and pain your feeling, she's feeling as well. There is a good chance that either she's just trying to cause pain, or is trying to make up excuses in her own mind. Is there a nugget of truth in there? Maybe. But don't let it hurt you. It's hard not to... but you can't let it drag you down.

Delete this post and lawyer up. Depending on the state, as I recently found out, you may not have to split everything.

Having a kid makes it hard. I want to go out (especially to like a gamestore) and have time, but with no one to watch the kiddo... it's really hard. And while he's perfectly capable of being left alone a few hours, "technically" the law has rules on it, and my ex-wife is petty enough to try to call cps if I were to. (already asked/try to force him to come with, that was a disaster)

Same. I had friends, but then work moved my family across the country. The connections I made here my now ex wife blew up. I've even tried to contact them since the divorce, only to be met with a cold shoulder.

That would require having friends first, something i'm having a very hard time finding...

My kid was 10 at the time and CPS still recommended anchoring the bookshelves and cat tree. So this is great advice!

If you can find some please share... 15 years of marriage / nearly 20 together dissolved late 2018 when she wouldn't stop drinking or gas lighting despite therapy/rehabs. Since being removed from the home, she has: - Completely torpedo'd any potential friendship I had, including our church, leaving me with no support network - Drove her own child to suicidal thoughts through systematic and intentional verbal abuse - Been kicked out of everyone in her families houses (from Mother to Sister all th…

Ehhhh, IANAL, but if you have primary placement, that's her primary residence.

Pretty much my situation, but also add rehabs. Good for you mate! The lawyer I have on retainer also really liked the texts I got, as well as the screenshots of her facebook messenger chat with another man (leaving chat open on a common computer and then passing out drunk is not a good strategy... and you definitely can't turn around and claim I "hacked" into it)

We are still in the "amicable" phase and she agrees i get primary resident of our 11yo. But every conversation its "but remember you abused me" or "remember you made me do xyz". Conversely, when my I mention her drunkenness, dui arrests, or her drunken cop calling "occifer he wont2 gimme da keyz so i can drive", she refuses to acknowledge it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
