In my brief experience, when you start down this road, you're going to have some "leading" false starts. You will try to lead, she will balk, you will react. Repeat. Repeat. The key is to just keep STFU. Don't let it get to you. Sometimes you need to push back, sometimes you need to roll over (no rambo). It's not easy to know when to do what. A date may be too far at this point. (depending on severity of the situation) ... but just start doing the shit that needs to get done. Take care of the ki…

Am I crippling myself by wanting to do this for her and her alone? You're probably crippling her. She can probably sense your oneitis and it probably gives her anxiety. In my short experience, the less I focus on my wife, the happier she is with me. You may find that she is much happier when you aren't orbiting her, obsessing over her, living for her. That could be why she's having trouble in the first place.

On Week 8 of lifting. I'm not seeing the same visible gains that I was making in the first couple weeks. Best tips for building faster? Finished WISNIFG. I realize I have a long way to go to incorporating these ideas into conversations. Sometimes it's not obvious. Sometimes it is. Real convo: "I want to buy a leather jacket." "It's the middle of summer. It's too hot to buy a jacket like that. You should wait until fall." "I realize it's pretty hot out right now, but I still want to buy a leather…

Yep. This. "You're right. I do make mistakes sometimes, don't I?" "I understand why you feel that way, and I don't blame you." "I'm sure that's the way it appears." "That's definitely something I could work on."

On week 6 of consecutive weeks of lifting. I am not happy yet with how I look but I am improving by the day. Trimmed my body hair for the first time. 90% done with WISNIFG. Rational Male is next. STFU. I find that changing the conversation to a new topic gets easier the more I practice. My wife doesnt even seem to notice - her hamster just starts running on new track. Also when she complains, I stfu and the complain time is half of what it was. Somehow being being caring and doting was making it…

You're right about that. I think it might be helpful for other guys who are working on internalizing WISNIFG.

You're right this post didn't require a lot of effort, but I still think if someone has read the sidebar, it is related.

I've had other friends in this situation. Doesn't mean sex or romance--just like "best friend of the opposite sex." Work only, nothing out of work. Flirty, yes. I've only heard of it among people that were single, though.

On Week 3 of lifting. Pushing myself harder every time. Sore but I like it. I feel muscles, small ones, for the first time in my life. Continuing to listen to WISNIFG on the way into work every day. I make time to communicate with several guys every day. Lifting has also led to several male acquaintances. I have spent nearly my entire education and work life on teams full of women, led by women. So I am working on getting out from under that. It feels good.

I feel like NMMNG started to make more sense once I started into WISNIFG. In some ways, I feel like WISNIFG is a superior book -- however NMMNG might be a better "soft" introduction so you don't go rambo. WISNIFG is perhaps the more radical of the two. And definitely helps give some philosophical backing to STFU.

Today I lifted for the first time. Tomorrow, I will lift again. Yesterday I started listening to WISNIFG. I listen to it on the way to and from work. Last night when my wife was emotional, I never got emotional. This morning she was very affectionate. I recognize now that actively listening to my wife for hours does not make her love me any more. (covert contract) So now I just interrupt her and bring up new things I want to talk about. She always rolls with it, which was unexpected. I continue …

If you are a "nice guy" you dont just have a marriage to work through, you have a whole lifetime to work through. Making even small changes can feel almost like taking a drug - very liberating. But the fundamental structure of your identity remains the same.

You shouldn't have a fight for a long time. Because you are going to STFU and not DEER. I have found this to be true.

Having followed this sub for a while, I feel like nearly every post follows this path: OP: I lift all the time, I have read all the books, I've been hardcore redpiller for years. But i feel insecure, weak, like a pussy. What do you all think? Replies: Asking for advice is beta. Read the sidebar again and don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks. If you were alpha you wouldn't be posting on this sub. What the fuck is wrong with you? OP: Thank you, thank you, thank you. That's what I really neede…

(sidenote: SMV is just neoliberalism applied to human relationships. "Game" is sales applied to sex. heck, they even "close") I dont think you need to go to 48 to get there. simply stated "the best way to attract women is to not need women." theres an apparent contradiction here - you want women, so dont want them to get them. but its as simple as, looking needy is a big turn off. politicians manage reputation - but a politician who appears to be obsessed with their reputation is a turn off. bra…

Finishing NMMNG. Hits home: I have spent most of my life surrounded by and trying to please women. I am a wimp. I believe that I am "not like other guys." I had my first fitness evaluation this week. Going to start lifting. Completely 100% out of my comfort zone. This week I have focused on making more guy friends. Had lunch with an old friend, which was refreshing. Even reached out to my father to help me with my car. Introducing myself to guys I see in the hall at work. Basically, if there's a…

thanks EDIT: I've not talked to my wife about RP. I do 100% of what she asks me to do. My days at home are basically doing her every command. Lately I've started saying "no" - on occasion. She loses her shit. Not getting mad and ignoring half of what she says helps.

First time posting (working through NMMNG): One word: Grief. A sad, painful realization that my expectations for marriage are destroyed. A deep anger that I don't want to spend the next decades of my life becoming like my dad and grandfather, hardcore nice guys with domineering wives. I realize the only way to save my marriage is to become a different person. The more I stand up, the more my wife and I fight - and every time she threatens to leave me and take our son. Cuts me like a knife. I hav…

yeah, i think there have been studies that show that if you practice willpower for small tasks it increases your willpower for bigger things. i.e. you prove to your self you can maintain discipline so you believe your goals are achievable. in the same way that every diet kind of works because every diet is, at base, paying attention to what you eat. ANY time you pay attention to what you eat, you eat better. it's intentionality, not the diet. it's the concentration, not the no fapping

Reminds me a lot of stoic philosophy - interpretation of external events, setting internal goals vs ones you cant control, etc . I think what i struggle with is, as a life long nice guy, i can almost viscerally feel when im breaking someones frame. I can feel the power shifting and too often I immediately pull back, thinking I'm being too strong or hurting them. However, it is either my frame or theirs. Practice for me means pushing just a little bit longer than my comfort zone. I still get surp…

What I love about this sub is that step no. 1 is READ. I'm sick of the old trope that it's masculine to not read / not like reading / be unable to read. No. If you want to change the way you think, you got to sit your ass down, crack open an ebook, and let the ideas wash over you, fill you up, change your mental wiring. Read before lift, imho.

33 here, just getting started. If you've been reading redpill, you should know that one of the key ideas is that there are plenty, plenty of women out there. Do NOT get wrapped up on one woman. Very un-dude. Also, they say that men's chances actually improve with age. We don't hit a wall. Here's to hoping.

EDIT: I also learned "don't get too skinny" was her own insecurity, like, "don't become too valuable or I will be in danger of losing you / won't be able to control you"

"Because I want to" is the only reason you need to give. But you could say, I want to be a better person. Any time that you make a life change the people that know you are going to be nervous. Not just your wife, anybody. They have put you in a box and now you are shaking things up for them. But they will adapt to the new box in time. If you can believe it, my wife once told me I could lose weight but "don't get too skinny" - so I set my personal goal so I would be healthy but not too skinny. It…

I have a bad habit of saying "Ok" to everything my wife says. No matter what she says, I say "Ok" - but then I realized that I was basically agreeing with / complying / consenting to everything she believed and asked. I said "Ok" even when when I didn't really think that way. I've been trying to catch myself and just not say "Ok." I just let the silence be there OR I say something constructive / my own opinion. I've been trying to stop asking questions like "Hey, do you think we should..? How do…

I worried about this, too. Still worry about it. But I've seen some positive results so far. A lot of fights in the transition, but the fights are fewer and fewer because I don't feed into them any more. She will still say things about when I was a pussy. That hurts, but whatever. It's also weird because it was her bad behavior that set me on this course. So in a weird way, I owe it to her.

it was because men were expected to attend to public life, which would allow them to see other women to sleep with. How can they see other women if women weren't allowed to be in public?

I may not have explained myself clearly. When I don't smile, people think I'm angry. I'm not actually angry. I'm just not as expressive as before. Somehow, whether it's a good thing or not, that has increased my status (particularly at work). I'd rather not be considered an angry person, but it has helped remove some of the "nice guy" pushover personality that always seemed to lead to me getting manipulated in the past. EDIT: Maybe angry isn't the right word. More like "stern." People think I'm …

Just my two cents: As a good man, you should take care of your wife. But just make sure that you are setting the agenda. I ask myself sometimes, "Do I feel like I am taking good care of my wife?" Not "Does she feel like she's being taken care of?" (in the same way that you have to know that you're being a good parent when your child says "I hate you") When I know that I am being a good, honorable, descent husband, I am bulletproof to her BS. I also don't have the guilt. I would say, DO communica…

being able to emotionally relate to women is extremely different from actually being attractive to them. I just started to realize this a couple months ago. Same as you, I have had many many female friends but they were rarely attracted to me. I haven't begun to be mean or rude to them - though I smile a lot less, which makes them think I'm angry, which makes them respect me more, but I also don't like being an angry person. I, too, have progressive ideals... just starting to wake up.
