A marriage is about more than tangible contributions. If she was the successful one and him the "supporting" spouse, I would still support the division of their assets regardless of gender. Of course we all know that gold diggers very much do exist, but it shouldn't be shocking that exploitative people exist in the first place.

I think the "listen and believe" response is from people who legitimately think that women are incapable of devious behaviour (while it might even be natural for men) - but isn't that sort of fairy tale princess thinking super sexist? It's true, he's commenting from a position of considerable comfort. The only thing that he's personally lived out of this list is finding what he likes doing and sticking with it, against all outside influences. The man worked very hard for not all that much reward (at the time) and never decided to dilute his work and earn the easier paycheque. He's the definite role model for that sort of behaviour.

If students actually knew how much of their money went to these guys, they'd probably be moderately annoyed. Always lobby for more money and attention, never deal with any sort of real problem. That is a reasonable claim. I always hope to not make a comment about stories that I do not have full knowledge of. It's entirely possible that this lady has been suffering for some time, but the facts of the case are rather intriguing and I hoped that mensrights would appreciate some follow-up on the case. I worked in a grocery store during high school and it was pretty often that little kids got lost or separated from their parents. As a 16 year old kid myself I still got the stink-eye from parents. It was a wonderful experience.
