take their pill in a double dose I don't think that this is how it works, but I don't use pill contraceptives so I can't really say.

It could be. My anecdotal experience told me that it is extremely unlikely that anyone using condoms will ever get pregnant, but some people using other contraception methods did get pregnant. I really don't know anyone who got pregnant 'unexpectedly'. Everyone had a reason and intention to get pregnant.

Condoms breakage are at 2% rate, on a high estimate. How come can all condom breaks cause a pregnancy right away, as PP suggests?

Strange that PP would preach the "condoms are porous" line that usually hard-line evangelicals would preach. If used correctly, condoms will never allow a pregnancy, unless they rupture. And a rupture is extremely rare. I do agree that condoms are not perfect at preventing STIs, so I would take them with a grain of salt. Still, you will always know when a condom failed after sex and you are able to take preventative measures on time.

Both articles ignore condoms as a the safest method. I would never trust this kind of content if they can't seem to even state the obvious. I remember during the sex-ed class girls protesting against ever using IUDs since they all knew an IUD drama. I've never ever heard anyone having a pregnancy caused by a failed condom, and only one ever told me having a rupture.

One in a hundred per year still is really high considering that condoms already have this level of effectiveness, if not even higher. The IUD doesn't add much protection like that. And they don't even protect against venereal diseases.

IUDs are very unreliable and can lead to very dangerous situations. How come I have learned more about contraception methods in a Catholic school?

Geez, you can't seem to learn with your mistakes 🤦

I can imagine that this should have been a really bad experience. I just can't imagine how something that can just happen after taking a lot of bad decisions and mishaps to end up happening.

Even so. In the USA people at 18 people are often are able to secure fairly well paying jobs. And anyone can walk in a Planned Parenthood to ask for an ObGyn paying a rate that someone earning US citizen level salary would probably be able to afford.

I can believe that you had surgery just by you saying it. I just can't believe that so many layers of contraception failed at same time.

America is a continent, not a country.

I'm sorry if that really happened to you, but the whole story seems to be hard to believe. The chances of happening seem really slim as I said. That's why I'm having hard time to conceive that this is something that could happen to anyone. It seems really freakish tho.

No way. I had little money for going out partying and socializing when I was young, let alone spend money dating but I could certainly afford paying a doctor visit. What country are you from?

It is exceedingly rare a condom to fail, and on top of it an after-sex contraceptive fail, and even after all that a pregnancy to happen, and on top of that, it becomes ectopic. The likelihood of everything to stack on top of each other is really slim.

You story doesn't seem very believable for me. You must be ignoring some part pertaining to the subject.

You don't schedule with the ObGyn after you had sex, you do it before. And if you had such bad issues with your hospital you can describe this in their Yelp page to warn other people against using them.

Did you even read the directions or talked to a ObGyn before using it?

The chances of having a failed condom, then a failed after-sex pill in a row are extremely low. Your case must be a very unlikely to happen.

There are after-sex pills that prevent a pregnancy if something goes wrong with your condom and they are extremelly effective.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
