That says a lot to me, if he apologized and said he’s fully committed to you. I would personally give it another shot. Especially if y’all have kids together.

I think it says a lot that he told you and wants an honest relationship with you. He could have never mentioned it at all. He stopped it with her and ultimately decided he wanted to stay with you. It also depends on how he opened to you about it… was he apologetic? Did he say sorry, and that he never wants to do it again, and he knows you’re the one? Do you think you can emotionally & mentally move on from this? He may truly feel bad about it and want to move on from it. So I guess it depends on…

I buy my husband clothes all the time. He hates shopping. If he doesn’t like it, I return it. Over time, I have learned that he has a few brands and styles he likes best, so I stick to those. I would look for clothes that are made of a comfortable material, simple and can easily match other clothes (like a capsule wardrobe), and that have a flattering fit (my husband likes the slimmer fit pants vs baggy work pants). He likes Carhartt, LLBean, Orvis, Bonobos, Levi’s, BirdDogs, Chubbies, and Adida…

If being non-white is roadblock for you to finding a man, then I would find a church, or community where you feel you fit in better. There are traditional men of all races. White people are actually a minority in the world, there is a ton of diversity in the US. Women of any race can be traditional women, wives, and homemakers. European, African, Asian, Latin American.. you can find it on every continent.

Financially - I chose a college where I wouldn’t accumulate too much debt. Then I chose a major that I knew would guarantee me employment after graduation. I chose accounting and became a CPA. I worked part-time in college, ate at the dining halls (included in my meal plan so I didn’t have to pay extra), I didn’t go out to eat much, I shopped at thrift stores, I didn’t drink often (alcohol can be expensive), and I found mutual friends who were in the same boat as me. Don’t get into trouble and s…

You’re 22 and he’s 45. The biggest consideration for me would be that if you wanted to have kids with him, he’d be an old dad and wouldn’t have as much time with his kids as someone who is closer to your age. He will die much sooner than you, especially because women tend to live longer than men. You could end up a widow in your 50s or even 40s if he doesn’t take care of his health. Right as your kids are entering adulthood and could benefit from the guidance of their father. I know husbands can…

No, you don’t need to date outside of your race if you don’t want to. Don’t marry a guy you aren’t attracted to. It makes me sad to read your replies! You are not “low value.” That term is not helpful to women at all. Please don’t think of yourself as low. You have a lot to offer! I think your list of things you DON’T require is sad. 😔 You should get love and affection and respect from a relationship. The biggest thing holding you back is the height. I was attracted to tall guys too. Of course, …

I am also 5’8” and my husband is 5’10”. He is almost always taller than me, even in heels. We have three kids now, so I don’t wear heels nearly as often, and when I do, they are shorter heels than I used to wear since I need to be more steady to chase after my toddlers. Plus he wears shoes too. If I were you, I’d go down on the height requirement a bit (5’10” is still taller than you, and in shoes, he’ll be close to 6 feet), go older on age (you are 32, so I’d go up to 45), be open to guys who a…

Most people date within their race, it’s okay to have that preference. You will find someone. It sounds like you’re a catch, maybe just keep going on dates until you find a good match. Let your family and friends know you are looking and see if they know anyone they can set you up with! Not sure what age range you are looking for, but I’d look for men up to ten years older than you if you aren’t including older guys. Or older if you are comfortable with that. And since you said you are Christian…

Seems like you’re wasting energy on this man when you could find another who would cherish you. You’re young and you have so much to offer. I don’t use this phrase often, but you should know your worth! You can still find a great man and have a wonderful family someday. Your past does not define your future. You can and will still be a great wife and mother if you fully commit yourself to it!

Oh sorry they’re not on YouTube! They are on Instagram and Facebook, and they also release an annual paper copy issue. It is a bit pricey ($40ish) but it’s high quality, no ads, and has lots of great content! An excellent magazine to have on your coffee table or just lying around for you to read.

I was wondering this, thanks for sharing that. She has like six or seven kids now? And is always baking and cooking gorgeous (and messy) things from scratch… she MUST have someone watching them right? A nanny or a regular babysitter/family help? I have three young kids and a lot of times I can’t do that. I’m a 24/7 SAHM and while I do include my kids in a lot of what I do, sometimes I can’t handle them making a huge mess in the kitchen for me to clean up later, on top of doing everything else. A…

So I never really “dated,” my husband was my first real boyfriend at age 21. However, I did have several other guys trying to date me before I got engaged. All very high quality men. Tall, well-educated, marriage minded, handsome, wealthy or getting there… Not a single one asked me about my sexual past. Though I didn’t have a sexual past to speak of if they did. But I have never been asked this question. Even if I were asked about it now, I would feel very awkward answering it (even with a “body…

Sounds like a porn addiction, which is a serious problem for a relationship. Porn is a slippery slope to weirder and weirder stuff (and illegal, horrible, disturbing, evil stuff too - porn drives the demand up for CSAM because people need more and more depraved content). If you’re early into the relationship, and this is a hard boundary for you, I would have a serious conversation about it and see if he’s willing to change.
/r/RedPillWomen14/11/22 09:51 PM

I agree, that’s not controversial to me at all. Actually my husband and I have a rule that we don’t watch porn at all. Especially coming from a Christian & traditional background, this is a hard boundary for us and our marriage and sex life is all the healthier for it.

Losing your virginity means a lot more to certain people than others I suppose. I personally do not recommend sleeping with your friend. If a long term relationship/marriage is what you want, I would start dating or courting. Many men will appreciate that you don’t have a past to deal with and would scoop you up. Don’t waste it on a friend. Let your first time be special with your husband (or someone you love).

I know a ton of amazing and “high quality” men. I live in the Southeastern US. You won’t have to search much for great men if you yourself are a high quality woman. I have noticed that there is a trend that my husband and guys like him go for: Not overweight / being (at least reasonably) fit; Don’t curse, drink too much, smoke or do drugs; No kids; No tattoos; Healthy lifestyle; Good relationship with family; Positive attitude/no mental illness or have it under control. We have friends who are v…

The key to successfully being celibate until marriage is to have a short courtship/dating/engagement. If you are with someone you are sexually compatible with and that you find attractive (and who finds you attractive) it will be hard to wait, especially for a long time. Also, limit your alone time. In our society, where couples are alone a lot, it makes it harder to stay accountable. I wouldn’t be alone with him at his house or yours if you truly want to commit to being celibate. Being alone in…

I agree, this isn’t nagging, this is advocating for herself and her best interests. Back in the days when courtship was the norm and parents oversaw their daughter’s courting and prospects, the father would never let a man string along a girl for this long with no intentions of marriage. In this modern era, most women have to be the ones to advocate for themselves instead of their fathers.

No… this would be a dealbreaker for me. Another serious conversation needs to be had about this and if he can’t understand your viewpoint, then it’s time to move on. There are plenty of great men out there who want to commit to a woman, get married, and have kids. I have seen so many women waste years on men like this. A few years ago, I had a friend who broke up with her boyfriend after NINE years. Never a proposal. Yes, men string women along like this. She started dating one of his friends (H…

Having friends and building a network of people is very productive. These people can benefit him professionally someday. They are the ones he can call for advice or just to vent for his mental health. They are the ones who will help him in a time of need. Thank you for sharing. I spent very little time on birth control but my husband didn’t like it when I was, and I’ve never gotten back on it since. Even now being done having kids (says my husband, not me lol), he still doesn’t want me to get back on it. Hire a personal organizer to come in and organize your home. The professionals are so great at it, and it will be much easier to maintain! Definitely worth the expense, it’s an investment that pays dividends in your marriage, your time spent cleaning, and your feelings of peace and relaxation at home.

That really depends, but I don’t necessarily think so. Does he have positive married influences around him? Or are all of his friends single, anti-marriage and child free? Having happily married friends is VERY important for other married couples, IMO. Who you surround yourself with has a big impact on your life. Especially if he has a great and supportive wife, I think he could grow to love it! Married men earn more, live longer, and (contrary to popular belief) have more sex than single men. A…

Aww I don’t have great advice here but I wish you the best of luck! I would definitely try to have conversations about marriage with him. Figure out the best time to talk to him (for my husband, it’s while we are driving in the car, right after sex, or Sunday afternoon after he’s has a restful night of sleep). Hopefully he changes his mind about marriage. It is wonderful to have that security, that outward and public profession of commitment and love, the same last names as your children, and al…

I met my husband when I was 13. He was friends with my older sister. He stayed friends with her, and would come over and hang out over the years. The week after I graduated college (I was 22), he was fresh out of law school and randomly invited me to a pool party he was having. I hadn’t seen him in years but I was friends with another girl going so I went. We were immediately both attracted to each other and started dating the next day. I wish my mom taught me to sew as a child. She is an amazing seamstress, used to make clothes for us and can alter or tailor any piece of clothing. She even did my wedding dress with intricate and delicate beading all over it. I had to learn how to sew as an adult (started a few years ago) and it’s not the same. She always talks about how useful sewing is and I wonder why didn’t teach me? I wish she did. My daughter is 4 and I already let her help me do everything, including sewing, cooking, gar…

Well you pointed it out yourself, emotional eating and nursing both have you consuming a lot of calories. I am also breastfeeding and a SAHM so I understand eating out of boredom and from hunger. It’s really hard. And starting is the hardest part. I started tracking my calories (tracking first, not restricting). I was surprised at how much I was unknowingly eating. Then I found out how much I needed to cut down to lose weight. My stomach got used to eating less (took a few weeks). Keeping myself…

Yeah I have a similar story with my parents. No one measures up to my dad. My husband comes close but he’s still not like my dad. He is truly a rare breed. He had multiple women proposing to him before he married my mom. And my mom looked like a literal supermodel when she was young, married my dad at 19 six months after they met, and my dad was her first kiss. I am not as gorgeous and graceful as my mom sadly, haha. I don’t see anything wrong with this… they were never serious and it sounds like she was the one who didn’t want to see him anymore. You are free to date who you want, and I wouldn’t even mention it to your friend until it feels more serious or it comes up organically. You don’t need her permission, it’s not like you’re dating her ex-husband. Wow well if you’re already doing that, then your husband needs to understand the reality of the situation. Either he changes jobs or you don’t have financial stability to have children. If you’ve already minimized your expenses to very little and live frugally, he needs to find a higher paying job. They are out there.

I agree! Do NOT push motherhood aside if that is what you desperately want. It is incredible and life changing and so fulfilling. I will say that I feel most men change once the kids come along.. there is a greater sense of urgency to work and earn and provide. When kids come along is when gender roles really get highlighted.. the woman is pregnant and vulnerable, the men see that and want to take care of her. This is such a great response! My husband does less than yours does, but he works a lot of hours and travels for work too. So our family that lives closeby sort of “subsidizes” what he would do. Thankfully, we have a big family and they help me out with the house, cook meals, come over to hang out, and babysit the kids. That way when he’s home, I’m well rested and things are taken care of. It works out because he can also rest and we can hang out when the kids are down. A good support system can…

I’ve been a SAHM for four years and I have three kids. I think what you suggested is a fair split. I do basically all of the cleaning, cooking, meal planning, and taking care of the kids all day. I wrote this assuming that you’re leaving your ex — which you should. The problems are only going to continue. Leave the country if there aren’t any dating prospects there, and go to a more populated area if you need to. There’s also nothing wrong with living with your family until you’re married. It saves a ton of money and it’s very normal outside of the US.

Porn is not acceptable in a marriage, or ever. Porn has tons of horrible effects on the brain, relationships, and in society (contributes to rape, violence, human trafficking, child trafficking, etc). It’s absolutely toxic, no one should consume it. Just have sex with your spouse. If they need to masturbate, they can use their imagination.

Maybe that will change as he gets older. In ten years, he will be 56 and you’ll only be 37. Most 20-30 somethings I know wouldn’t look twice at a man 55+ (unless he is abnormally fit, well dressed, and wealthy). Also if you’re married, he made a commitment to you. Aging is a part of life. The best thing we can do is age gracefully and build a life we will be happy with and proud of as we get older.

How’s his relationship with his parents, your future in laws? How do you both plan on taking care of your parents as they age? In your home, or nursing home? How are his spending habits? Does he have any major debt? What are his parenting philosophies? Is he against yelling at kids, spanking, etc? Would you like your future sons to turn out like him? Do you genuinely like being around him? Do you feel like you encourage each other to be the people you want to be?

Depending on your job, one of my friends is an SLP and she works 3 days a week, and is with her son the rest of the week. Though she can’t fully stay at home, it’s a good balance for her and she makes good money while she’s working.

Every “care package” I’ve ever received has come from a woman. It’s definitely more of a feminine thing to do. If you tell him explicitly you don’t feel like cooking or something, maybe he would offer to drop off some food? That seems more like something a guy would do. Definitely don’t let unspoken expectations mess up the relationship if you like him a lot, especially if he’s busy with work and his kids. Sounds like he’s a hardworking dad to me.

You could become a seamstress for a business, like Joseph A Bank or a wedding / formalwear store.

If you are a Christian and want to remain a Christian, no. The Bible is clear on this.

I cook for my family and girlfriends, and I cooked for my husband while he was still my boyfriend. He liked that I knew how to cook and proposed after 10/11 months.

Buy a cookbook with recipes you like and practice making them.

I would do it if I were you lol. I’ve had some arranged marriages in my family (Slavic) work out really well.

I’m all for having kids young. But 30 is definitely not too old! You’ll still be younger than a lot of other moms if you start soon. You may not have any of the health issues your family had. And even if you did, with modern medicine, basically any complication can be taken care of. The chances of your baby having special needs is much less than the likelihood of them being perfectly healthy. Medicine, nutrition, and science has advanced so much. Sounds like you already take good care of yoursel…

Yes, but my husband works from home and so I just make an extra of whatever my kids and I are eating. He loves it. And honestly it’s the least I could do.

Both of my grandmothers were arranged married at 17 and they stayed married until death, with husbands who loved and doted on them. I’m pretty sure all the women in generations before them were also arranged marriages. My parents got married within six months of meeting (mom was 19). It wasn’t until my generation when things really changed. I got married in my early 20s and honestly wish it had been sooner.

In many cultures today, it’s still normal for women to get married at 18 and have long happy marriages. As long as you have family around to help (or can afford to pay for high quality babysitters/nannies), you can still go to school, travel, go out on dates, etc.

As a a SAHM, I can honestly say I’m not stressed and truly enjoy my days with my children. I have time for all the housework and cooking. My husband never wants me to go back haha. Some days are hard and it’s an adjustment to not have any (or much) alone or adult time. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Don’t move in together until after the wedding if you want the best shot. We moved in together a month-ish before the wedding (because both of our leases had ended and we had no one else to live with in our area) and our willpower did not last long in that situation. I would definitely get a mentor couple involved in this situation. Or talk to your premarital counselor. Pray for him. It is really hard to wait 30+ years to have sex, especially when you’re engaged to be married, and the urges are …

I’ll also add that yelling around children is very harmful to their development. Even doing it occasionally (when I have been stressed out and at my wits end) makes me feel extremely guilty. I can’t imagine having a spouse who yells around the kids often.

Many problems you have before marriage only become amplified afterwards, and especially after having kids. If he has anger problems now, it’s going to be worse when you have a baby who wakes you up at night (and you can’t keep the house as clean as you want) or a loud toddler who interrupts his TV/conversations/etc and won’t go to bed on time. If you have a baby with this man, you’ll be tied to him forever. It’s better to have a broken off engagement now than be a single mom later on. Think real…

It really depends on your beliefs, and if you’re willing to compromise or not. For me, being raised Christian, I have strong beliefs about marriage and it would be a dealbreaker for me. I would take some time to think and pray about this relationship.

Yep as a mom I can totally relate.. If you’ve barely been getting any alone time or help, you’re probably feeling frazzled, overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated.. especially with your first baby (which I felt like has the biggest learning curve). Your hormones and body are still recovering and changing. And I definitely wouldn’t want to leave my exclusively breastfed baby with someone else at eight weeks, just to have to pump at a party, and socialize when I’m feeling exhausted. Mom of a newborn e…

You don’t want to be in a position where you’re pushing him to do something he doesn’t want to do. Giving an ultimatum for engagement sounds like it would be awful (I’ve heard some women do that). I don’t know if you can convince a guy that marriage is a good thing. My husband was very marriage oriented when we met, he was the only guy I ever dated, and we got married young. Maybe that’s why I don’t understand this situation. He might be a great guy, but if your values aren’t aligned, then maybe…

I don’t know why women tolerate this. If you are both marriage minded and want to get married, there is no reason to wait years and years. He should know by now. It’s honestly disrespectful. Just my opinion. Marriage isn’t like having kids. What are his fears? If money is an issue — you can have a small, affordable wedding, he can still work on building up his career, save up money, and wait to have kids. But if he’s not going to commit to you now, and you invest your prime fertile years in him …

I definitely agree with your point on temperament! He doesn’t want a wife who is always screaming at the kids, plops them in front of the TV all day, drinks alcohol every night, is in a bad mood, gives up on her appearance or doing things around the house. When you’re in the thick of raising multiple young children, you need a good attitude, motivation, resilience, and optimism to get through the challenging moments. It’s hard work, especially if you pull your weight at home by cooking, cleaning…

First, I would tune out anything you read about SMV and “the wall.” A lot of that stuff is exaggerated and can be really difficult for women to read. Don’t let it get to your head, I would stop reading it. You are a beautiful, healthy 20 year old girl. I would focus on what you enjoy doing, like exercise, school, extracurriculars, reading, learning useful skills, and your friendships with your girlfriends and family. Great job on not participating in hook up culture or one night stands!! That’s …

I watched the women in my workplace do this for three years before I had my own. I watched them FaceTime their husbands/nannies and say goodnight to their kids while we worked late. I watched them wave to their families outside the windows when we had to come in on families. I watched them get talked about by our managers when they had to leave a little early to pick up their kids. I watched women be so uncomfortable during meetings because they really needed to go pump their breast milk, but th…

My husband got me a $2,500 engagement ring and I thought that was so expensive, I felt bad. Then I had a co-worker almost laugh at me, and said she told her boyfriend he had to propose with a $10k ring from Tiffany’s or she would say no. He worked at Papa John’s at the time. When she asked me to be in her wedding, I said no because my husband hated her. I am shocked at how entitled some women are. Also I’m sorry if women aren’t allowed to comment here, please delete if so.
