I think that the former /r/incels invaded.

I agree that it was an incredibly dumb move to actually go for it. I'm just giving another view, as it appears that all of /r/incels has flooded this place.

I think there is one very plausible explanation that doesn't paint her as a cheater. Imagine if she was younger when they started dating - maybe 16, so even though she loves him and thinks the world of him, she still felt that she hadn't explored what it was like to date around since they started dating so young. She doesn't want to lose him, but also wanted that experience, too. That idea makes sense if they started dating really young like that, but I think it could also be the case with her s…

I must be the only one who can see a rational explanation for her. Just because she knows she has a great guy doesn't mean that she doesn't like the idea of the experience of dating (or even just having sex with) other people. I don't know why everyone here thinks those two things are mutually exclusive - at least when it comes to desiring both things. That doesn't mean that it is reasonable to have both, as a lot of people (like her boyfriend) wouldn't be ok with that. But the desire for both i…

I think the thing people have trouble with is that there is definitely a real difference between this type of rape and what one normally thinks rape is (forced, non-consensual). By not recognizing the difference between the two, people will marginalize statutory rape because they are comparing it to forcible rape. (FYI I don't agree with the person's use of quotes by saying it is statutory "rape", as that isn't bad somehow.)

I think it would depend on the situation. If it is a highly targeted group who actively engages with her and also is a coveted group for the business, 87K may be great. If it is fragmented across the world with people only marginally interested, then it might not be worth anything. If she had demographic data showing that her audience was engaged and located in a place that could easily take advantage of a Dublin trip, it might not be that bad. This is especially true if they have excess invento…

Ah, there you go! Never apologize for being a dipshit. Wave it like a flag and be proud. Make sure you use terms like "betamale" and hopefully "cuck" to show your obvious superiority. Make sure to whisper into your husband's ear how much of a betamale he is when you are pegging him tonight.

I wasn't offended. Why would you apologize? That's such a betamale thing to do.

What? That happens all the time. Not in all, or even most, situations, of course, but that is not a rare thing to find a person who cheated on their significant other with one of their friends. Not only that, even if it never did happen, they still hang out with that friend where she will always have concerns - it's not like they are hanging out with Brad Pitt and he has to worry. This is such a bizarre thread.

In plenty of people's minds, you're straight up saying if given the chance with someone better, they'll cheat. But that's not what she is saying at all. There is a huge difference between "someone better" and Brad Pitt, who is still probably one of the most wanted men in the world. She was talking about a fantasy, not just someone who is better. I think if someone really finds that concerning, they might have some issues with self esteem. I agree with the person above you - this whole post is re…

Let's say, for example, he had a hammer in his hand. Would it be acceptable to smash it into her face shattering them? I don't think most people, even here, would think that would be reasonable. So if that is the case, there is some line where the use of force is acceptable and then not acceptable. Your example is probably just as unlikely as mine, so the question is whether a haymaker that lays her out is really a reasonable response. If we take away the idea that "she got what she deserved" or…

Oh I see what you are saying, that the gender definitions are a social construct from society. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm not all that well versed in this stuff, but can't gender also have a biological component? Seems that at least some of the time, the gender identity is based upon some biological component, whether it is hardwired in the brain to feel like another sex, or maybe hormone driven.

I've heard the stories of the reverse, where the guy wanted to have random sex, but then found out that it was much easier for his girlfriend to get sex than it was for him. Same remorse. As a side note, the only way she could have gotten out of this situation is to go through the vacation and not slept with any guys. Then told him when she got back that she appreciated him being so open minded for her, but she realized she could never be with anyone else. She could never bring up the other woma…

Is it considered privilege to have balls that get in the way of comfortably sitting with legs together?

That isn't a good argument at all, though. Just because she has one nice thing doesn't mean all is fair. I'm not saying she isn't disgusting, but your argument is wrong.

She wanted to kill him because she didn't want to be judged by her family for getting a divorce? And she's talking like he's a terminal patient, how she just wants one more week with him, when she is the one ordering his death. How do people exist like that?

That's really my point though - once you begin a physical confrontation, you don't know how it will turn out, so it is best to avoid that and find different ways to handle the situation. Too many cops are not trained in the slightest to do so - their go-to approach is to intimidate to gain compliance. It really comes down to this: Do people care more about the result or the justification? In other words, if we care about the result, then we hope that all interactions end peacefully to reduce ris…

It's hard to know what approaches were used by the cop prior to the video, so we don't really know. But in my experience, if you show someone respect who is not used to getting respect, you will get a much more positive response.

Here's the thing - I don't think people are saying that he shouldn't arrest her. They are arguing about the amount of force he used. And frankly, it is good for the cop to learn new ways of de-escalating a situation, as evidenced by this video. You absolutely never know what is going to happen once things get physical, so that should be the absolute last option for the cops - for their own protection.

Yeah, it's really crazy that people who see the video think this is a reasonable amount of force.

Do you see the volume of overly aggressive tactics from other developed countries? Nope. Because they are trained in other ways to obtain compliance. It is a ridiculous argument to say that since she didn't immediately comply, it is reasonable to do just about anything to get her to comply. There are other strategies to gain compliance without a physical altercation that could easily escalate the situation. What if the other kids hadn't sat there quietly? What if they came to her "aid"? Then you…

You don't either. But apparently you think it is reasonable to body slam someone right away when they don't comply. Edit: Ok, technically not a body slam - just throwing someone across the room. As if that makes a difference...

This a woman violently resisting Did you see a longer video showing this, because I don't see how you can call that violently resisting. She just sat there, and then only reached up after he had grabbed her by the neck.

I think he started adding things that were ridiculous. Like how the father daughter dance was not his taste in music. I think he felt that if he paid for things for the family, that would make him the respected leader of the family, or the "patriarch" as he put it. But the girl was already 12 when he came into her life, so it was naive to think he was going to replace her birth father, no matter how shitty the guy is. And besides, when he refers to his step-daughter, he talks about how much mone…

That's what I was thinking. It sounds like he laid her out for something that was definitely inappropriate but not close to doing any damage. Here is what she hit him with, I believe: http://pacificpromos.info/images/201212/goods_img/2416_P_1355236090010.jpg

That would be perfect. Scare her a little, but no need to throw the book at her to "make an example" of her.

Seriously? She is a stupid teenager who did stupid teenager things. Not to say she should get off completely free, but prison time would be ridiculous beyond maybe a few hours to prove a point.

I'm torn - yes, her intent was much different, but her offense shouldn't have been for child porn, but rather for trying to frame him, in my opinion. And in that situation, her sentencing guidelines should be the same for the guidelines given if he were convicted for the crime she was framing him for.

But one facet of his job is to de-escalate a situation. And making her understand the ramifications of her actions would help to de-escalate things. If he had said what /u/InfoSponger had recommended, she would have likely assessed the situation quicker/better, and would have left with less disturbance.
/r/PussyPassDenied08/12/14 07:35 PM

This is so true - he could have explained to her more clearly that things were going to get much worse for her if she didn't comply. That doesn't excuse her actions, of course, but him saying that she is not being detained while at the same time telling her to get up to be escorted off the plane is sending mixed messages.

I agree with you. Although not everybody wants that lifestyle, it is reasonable for someone to want to progress financially. It does at the end sound strange like she expected him to pamper her or something, but overall, someone is not a gold digger just because they want to grow into a nicer lifestyle, and not have their significant other be ambition-less their entire life.
