I am confused what you are mad about. Is it that he rates you on a numerical scale or that you think you are above a 7, without bias?

Especially if you are thinking this hard about the game’s you need to play. At some point, you are HV or you are not.

That middle paragraph was my favorite thing I have read on Reddit. I am taking this, most likely living by it on my side and demanding it of a partner.

It’s a westernized value system. Had the opportunity to visit Saudi Arabia and someone there explained this to me. Love is the highest virtue in the US. The starting point for everything else to be built off of. Other civilizations have different virtues. Japan was built off honor. Saudi was based off justice. It was fascinating to have it explained to me in this way. Helped me understand all the media I consumed from a young age and how everything is framed in a specific way. It’s our culture’s…

Mainly because the people in this sub are a tiny minority of the population and the beliefs here are not reflected by the general public.

Think you might be misunderstanding. The first guy is an example of hypergamy given that he is getting married now.

Kind of feels like you just proved hypergamy is real since the first guy is getting married this year.

It seems like a really good idea to use the time to give up both. If you are trying to figure something out or going through something that requires you to “fix your mind” it probably is not the best time to be dating. Take the time to really focus on you. It is just 90 days and since the goal is to be in a better place mentally and physically, assume you will succeed. Success means you will be a version of yourself that better meets your own standards so why not wait until you are that person t…

What if he is comfortable doing all those things? Like enthusiastically agreed?

I think this is a very strong post. I also think you should not let anyone on this sub berate you or make you feel like you are not needed here. This sub, after all, is about just dating so it sounds like you have already moved past this and are happily married. In my opinion, it could not have less to do with gender. This is just about maximizing a team. Each person in a relationship will have strengths. Women can be mechanics too, so if a wife/gf had this skill it would make no sense for the h…

Be polite pay but like the old saying goes “when people tell/show you who they are, believe them.” He is not going to be different than this if you decided to go out again. Splitting the bill... could be acceptable. Not having the spine to talk in person and sending a request later... weak.

I think some people probably really needed to hear this. Great advice/observation.

Love this! No time for blame no finger pointing just honest self awareness. The focus is not even on dating so much as self improvement. Doesn’t that make so much more sense for a goal in life?!

Can you elaborate on number 6? Profit as in benefit from a better relationship or actual money?

I think this subreddit really provides a safe place to better understand the difficulties of dating in today’s world. I almost feel like this is generation specific and that makes it a lot harder to get advice from people in different age ranges. It is very clear to me that this subreddit is needed given the amount of support and advice it provides to women.

It’s just funny because this example makes it seem like you would not need groceries if you were going your own way? Like the reason you need food is because of women not for sustenance?

I am saying the substance of the post is lacking. That is my entire point. You are treating women as a different species instead of recognizing the similarities. All people act in that way given the opportunity. I watched star athletes in high school live it up and now after not making it anywhere having to “settle”. You can be mad at me all you want for breaking up your little echo chamber and “women are the devil rabble rabble rabble” nonsense but you are ignoring the hypocrisy of not taking r…

Priorities, preferences, tastes, etc. all of it changes for both men and women as they get older. I just feel like the anger is misplaced. If you are mad about the ability to do what women do but if given the same chance would do the same thing, it feels like jealousy and bitterness more than anything. What is driving the substance behind this post?

I am not sure how you can even pretend this is any different for guys. This is a people problem not a women problem (if it even is a problem). Every person was young and dumb at one point. I went after women just because I wanted a good time too. This is just reaching to be upset. At the same time you are preaching for women to take responsibility for their actions you are avoiding the realities that given the opportunity you would have done the same thing. Enjoy youth while you had it but refin…
