It's just shaming to buy into the crap system (just because everyone else...)

Of course, no one hits anyone unless it's self defense, but we don't live in that utopia. I can see in that kid's eyes that all he is thinking is "don't hit a girl... just take it... people will think you are more of a man for not striking back". The rule "never hit a woman" imo is intended to stop overt abuse of women by men; however, when you make such rules, the protected becomes the perpetrator. It shouldn't be such an ingrained belief as to restrict boys/men from defending themselves.

The rule "men don't hit women" was adhered to because women used to be ladies. New rule... "men don't hit ladies... bitches are fair game"

Two thoughts come to mind: 1) People never learn anything by being told, they have to find out for themselves. 2) Life keeps repeating the same lesson until you learn it.

Tech, like many industries, is highly competitive even amongst men. Not to say women are somehow incapable, but men expect to fight constantly for opportunity and reward. To claim the environment is 'unwelcoming' just speaks to the environment and an individual's abilities. Having worked in diverse groups, skill, is the primary driving factor of acceptance.

Also, you can't go in with joke-game and then take them 'seriously'. Give them room to joke back at ya. Truth hurts, but the whole night was game.

Maybe you just aren't into 30+ milfs or want to keep your numbers down. At 22, I wouldn't have given a second look to someone 30+. Give it time and hit it when you want to stick around for a bit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
