I’m sure there are many better people that could be much more helpful than I am, but I’ll try anyway. I learned through repetition. Certain jokes landed and others didn’t. I figured out that I enjoy humor that’s unexpected or laconic, so I ended up delivering those jokes better. Better timing, expression and inflection are often more important than the content. A straight face works great often. Then I had to learn what kind of people usually liked those kinds of jokes. I’ll have a funny thought…

I like to think of myself as a funny person. I was was horribly unfunny for so many years and routinely humiliated myself trying to be. Becoming funny is a weird, socially risky process. I could see it being a reason less women chase developing that skill. But honestly, this post reeks of insecurity. It’s a generalization. I may be correct, I’m not sure. Remember your large sample size is also only how many white women act toward you, one guy. But enough semantics, I think the discussion is helpful as long as people keep a level head.

My advice is certainly controversial: make the decision for her. Leave. You want to be the one who chooses, trust me. My experience has been exceptional. I averaged only going twice a week (instead of 3) and I still put on a very noticeable amount of muscle. Not to mention it's a great high and my posture moderately improved.
