I'm a former pickme. And because I was never shown unconditional love , I never expected it in my romantic relationships. I want it to be conditional. I also don't accept this ideology of "accept your partner just the way they are" , because why would you not want them to strive to being the best version of themselve and just accept their lowest form ?

Yes! Finally someone understand. I too share the same perspective. I don't believe in unconditional love, probably because my upbringing was such that I had to "earn" my parents love by complying to their conditions. I believe love should be conditional, not transactional. When both people mutually give and receive love, affection care and respect , it blossoms into a secure and strong bond. True , I completely agree. Indian men lack a spine and can never stand up to their parents , even if its for the sake of their partner. Unless he talks to his parents about you and plans to marry you , it's better not to date them with false hopes.
