I was like this also until I realized that by being friends with girls you would be "increasing" your chances of sleeping with her. Of course, you can imagine the success rate on that strategy...

Bear in Mind: She may well be looking for validation. They all are, really, but especially 'taken' women who are used to having the bf around and want some validation from other guys. Incidentally, IME, no girls want validation MORE thane women who are engaged and planning their weddings. They practically throw themselves at you. Fuck my lack of experience, I didn't know this... So a girl acting like this may not be interested but more looking for someone to treat her like her husband/boyfriend/…

I hate it too, that's why I never become friends with them. I only become their friend IF I'm not attracted to them. Otherwise, if there's some physical, intellectual or whatever kind of attraction, I will not become their friend. We can flirt all she wants, but she will not firendzone me, I'm not falling for that anymore.

What I hate is when they flirt with you in front of their SO. Or when they flirt knowing full well that's only friendly because they are in an LTR.

You are in control of the branch swinging. She won't let go of the old branch until she is firmly grasped in the new branch. If you don't let her firmly grasp, she can't swing. And this bothers me a lot because if you are not careful you end up being the one who caused the breakup which, in the end, is also dangerous if you want a LTR with that girl... The way I see it, either you want to stay in control and risk causing a breakup, or you relinquish control and wait for them to break up. And you…

More importantly I get the feeling you only want to understand if there's a difference between a girl in supposed social contract showing interest vs a girl outside of one. Yeah, it's more about learning to read them than anything else. Especially when sometimes they are in shitty relationships and may want to get out, it could be useful learning the signals.

The thing is, I think she's trying to protect her reputation in a way. This is what I mean when I say it's worse than single women. With an LTR, they will not only keep their signals ambiguous but they'll also keep the whole "reputation" aspect closer to their heart, making everything fucking difficult...

The usual signals. Escalate interactions, gauge interest, give her denial plausibility. Damn, I have slowly been doing that except for the denial thing. I mean, I didn't do it on purpose, it's just how it turned out. I really hate when they do this, they seem to like your company but force YOU to make the ultimate move they can actually shut down. Or I'm just lacking experience...

taking over the LTR position of another dude seems foolhardy. Absolutely right, I'm just testing the water.

I get it, and he has a point, to be honest. Now, supposing I don't care about this being done to me. For the sake of argument, what would actually be the gesture that means "yeah, I'll do you/hook up with you/you got me!" for a woman in an LTR? Up until now, all I get are ambiguous, easily deniable signals. Flirting, touching, attention seeking, laughing at anything, etc, but nothing definitive.

I don't know yet. I met her not long ago and it's not the first time I have issues trying to understand women signals when they are in a LTR. The fact is, this time I want to understand what's going on and if she's really willing to either fool around with me or dump the beta boyfriend.

Exactly, she's a girl, she has a boyfriend, we have a good time together, it doesn't mean she's going to branch swing.

Why would you chase an obvious branch swinger? Not necessarily that. Chasing taken women is a sign towards a lack of abundance mentality. Not chasing, she's just "there".

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
