Sounds like Mr Kennedy needs to get his own lawyer. The state and prosecution should be on trial for wrongful imprisonment as well as for failing to prosecute such a clear cut case of false testimony, false allegations, and character defamation.

That was my understanding as well. The 1989 book "Heather Has Two Mommies" was pretty well accepted, I don't recall there being any particular lesbian backlash against it. Is there some language difference I'm missing that would make Dad more exclusionary than Mom?

If we accept the legal definition of 18 year olds being adults, I don't agree with there being laws written preventing those legal adults from having sex with other legal adults, regardless of the gap in age. It may be creepy, and the half-plus-seven rule is pretty accurate for estimating society's limits on where creepy starts, but that's no reason to legislate it. Under 18, it's a goddamn mess and could use a rewrite, but leave adults out of it.

Look, don't make this into something it's not. Child support rulings generally consider the amount that it takes not just to sustain the child with Aldi's mac&cheese, but to maintain the level of lifestyle they would have had with the father still in place. It's a complicated issue and it's worth talking about, but i don't think there is a clear answer. I would lean towards pay being based on performance, but not every job has that easy performance metric. If you're carrying logs from point A to point B, that's pretty easy to measure, but that's not most jobs. It might be overall more fair (to employees and employers alike) to disregard it in most cases. The cost of measuring it may be greater than the differential in pay anyway.

Once they start self-classifying, sure. At the moment, they all identify as feminists. I think most of us would agree that we're all for women seeking equality, just as much as we would like equality ourselves. It's unfortunate that certain parts of both sides prevent us from seeking them together.
