So you and I both agree (correctly) that women are treated differently by the courts. We don’t even disagree on why, yea the courts view them as more deserving empathy and as less dangerous. You’re mad because I’m not blaming women for that or something? Rape was treated as a property crime historically. That’s not being “full of shit”. That is a real thing that society did. That’s not blaming misogyny, that’s not me being a feminist, that’s just the shitty way the world worked and it’s good we …

I’ve said nothing contrarian. I mean, you agree that right here that the court views women as less dangerous, are you being misogynistic? I wasn’t, I wasn’t blaming it, and I don’t think you are either. What ahistorical take on legal misogyny did I utter? What am I incorrect about? I’m very familiar with being wrong, if I am, please point it out without being as rude as you continue to be. Seems to be your first exposure to having a conversation with someone. I’m not sure what set you off, but t…

Who is “you people”? I’m a human being, just like you. Please be incredibly specific where I blamed misogyny for the differences in sentencing for men and women. Yeah I agreed with you, women often get more lenient sentencing, why are you arguing with me and saying I’m misled. I agreed with you. Are you misled? I don’t understand the hostility, I at no point have attempted to discredit anything you have said.

Apologies, I meant on paper. Women typically do receive more lenient sentences than men. I think most that study crime believe it’s paternalistic and viewing women as less dangerous. I wasn’t trying to dispute your point, just adding that most places have it as a different crime because of how rape laws were originally written. Interestingly, the DOJ found that for crimes that go against traditional gender roles (i.e., child abuse) they actually receive longer sentences than men.

If the numbers are available isn’t that not hidden? One google search and I find multiple government reports on homicide victimization for multiple years. These reports all say more men are killed every year than women, but women are more likely to be killed by an intimate partner than a man. That’s not an anti male agenda, it’s just a statistic. People might use it to be anti male, but you should ignore them or call them out. Like if someone wanted to say women are murdering their partners and …

Many jurisdictions are like this, it’s very backwards. It’s from historical categorization of rape as a property crime. At least in the UK, while the charge may be different, the punishment is exactly the same.

I have spoken to a lot of people in my life, and many of them I had no desire to flirt with, and many I did but refrained. It’s illogical to think you have to flirt with someone when speaking to them.

I’d recommend hiding your post history or getting a second reddit account buddy lmfao. Not shaming but it was just a jaw dropper.

What could possibly be logical in thinking ‘actually sex is a thing that happens’ when told “approach women with respect and without sexual intent”. Approaching people with obvious sexual intentions is often perceived as creepy and a turn off. A woman telling you “hey don’t talk to me just to fuck me” isn’t illogical, and it shows a lack of critical thinking to think it is. You’re correct not everything a man says to a woman is misogynistic, but that’s not what she said, and it’s illogical to th…

His whole profile is poop posting and then a dozen posts about a single interaction with a woman. That’s crazy.

Interacting with a woman doesn’t mean she owes you sex, flirting doesn’t mean she owes you sex, you should approach not only women but everyone with respect. Yes if someone tells you they experienced misogyny you should accept that’s their lived experience. If you tell me you experienced misandry I will accept that that is your lived experience, even if she was speaking accurately to you. You’re not being a misogynist here, just weird, inaccurate, and illogical.

I agree with that sentiment, I was raised to navigate the world rather than mold it and others to my needs. Reading all of your comments here you seem like a very reasonable and mindful person and it’s nice to see. I strive for that.

Commenting a second time, I understand you don’t mean this out of hostility, but if a woman avoided all men because she was afraid of what they would do to her, would you not view that as hostile even if she didn’t? Stop letting strangers dictate your actions. Just be yourself.

I generally agree that this sub is largely an advocate against feminist thought. Very little of the posts I see are about women broadly and it often called out when it’s just plain old women hating. I quite frankly disagree with a lot of the stuff posted here and I’m often able to engage in dialogue in productive manner.

How does you telling me to go to women’s rights subreddit after I ask you what’s going on in your life advocate for men in any way?

I love being a man. I love pumping gas at night and doing masculine shit. You’re letting crazy people on the internet ruin your lived experience.

Yes the 200 year old phrase that was a product of that eras chivalry and the idea then women are inherently weaker than men and need protecting was implemented by feminism to devalue men.

I don’t disagree with you, but this also applies to plenty of men’s spaces. It really applies to any group that’s hyper specific. I went and peeped, didn’t see anything that stood out to me. Seems fine.

Im not going to pull some BS “if you love her appearance won’t matter” because it does matter but it can be difficult to maintain a figure post child birth. Just have a conversation with her. Shes your wife, tell her that you are feeling these things. Just remember to be gentle, no one wants to hear from anyone “hey you’re fat and I’m not attracted to you.”

I’m just a white guy so I haven’t experienced racism, but I’ve been friendless, lost family and been cheated on. I’d forget relationships for now, move on from this first. Try and find some friends, I know it’s hard. Maybe there are online groups of other Indians in your area or even other immigrants. Keep trying to connect with people, most people aren’t racist. I think the best thing I ever did for myself when I was at my lowest was lean into my hobbies. I’m sorry this you’re going through thi…

No thanks, I’m going to go to work so I can keep eating. I genuinely do not care what women on the internet have to say about me. They are free to pick the bear. I love all of the women in my life, I don’t think picking a day to purposely ignore them is productive for anything.

Well yeah, you aren’t entitled to anyone and if you’re going to be a womanizer you should be willing to accept the consequences of that. There’s plenty of winning in life man, I got my boat running again, my shitbox OBS truck running again, I’m also in a happy years long relationship after years of thinking your way and thinking it would never happen. Doom and gloom doesn’t help any situation.

My friend, if someone doesn’t consent to a sexual encounter is it by definition rape. It doesn’t matter if they are a stranger or not.

Why are do doing the “men have to go to war so women should be raped” discourse again this week.
/r/MensRights20/03/26 01:31 AM

I’m upvoting you for the first time here. We agree 100%. I’m just saying you should be pushing for that ideal world and not one that’s arguably worse. The idea that men fight in war while women stay home is an acceptance of the biological differences between men and women. I’m against women in combat roles (non combat roles is fine). Society is evolving, women work now. The trade offs of old traditions (women as homemakers, taking the men’s old jobs when the men go to war) no longer exist. I thi…

Okay, so in your ideal society only in the case of attacks that are large enough, women are systematically raped? Conscription is bad, we agree it should be abolished. You don’t have to have this weird pro rape position.
/r/MensRights18/03/26 04:38 PM

The United States was attacked on 9/11, went to war for two decades and never instituted the draft. Again, you are arguing a very weird and wrong point.
/r/MensRights18/03/26 04:32 PM

It can be abolished. The US specifically has not had conscription in any conflict since the 70s. You should be arguing all countries do the same, instead of arguing “women should be raped or sent to war”. Edit: I’m against war, will not join the army. I also don’t want kids (currently), does that mean I should be raped as well? Forced to father a child I don’t want?
/r/MensRights18/03/26 04:24 PM

I think instead of arguing for forced birth you should argue against conscription. “If I have to go to war why don’t women get raped” is just a weird thing to argue.

Haha yeah no problem, I'm not much of a poster, more of an infrequent commenter. I could be mistaken but I would assume all are available, some more digging had me find that the CDC has moved (or is in the process) of moving their publications to a website called Stacks in the name of increased access. Glad I could help.
/r/MensRights17/06/24 04:20 AM

I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up, I will link it again, I can try DMing it to you also. From my searches it seems the original link on the CDC page is dead, someone must have moved things around but I found the report on a different CDC page. Intimate partner violence in the United States -- 2010.

Well it’s a different crime, different criminal histories probably. Now if you wanna talk about the on average 15 day shorter sentences that women receive we can, but don’t be a reactionary.

Sure buddy paste me all other examples of other people calling someone stupid and I’ll do the same. We had a misunderstanding, that’s it. You misunderstood my comment. That’s FINE. We actually both agree that she sucks. I’d rather shake hands and move on with my day. Hope you have a good week and it’s filled with things that bring you joy and meaning.
/r/MensRights11/03/24 05:11 PM
-5

Right, you’re correct. Pointing out violence by proxy is not hate. Those aren’t the ones I’m talking about. We clearly have different definitions on what we consider a dislike of women. That’s fine. To help you understand better, me saying she’s stupid is not making her to be simple jack and she should be forgiven, it’s me calling her stupid. She also did an evil thing and should be punished for that, and based off other comments was.
/r/MensRights11/03/24 04:58 PM
-14

That’s so good I’m glad you’re adult and smart enough to recognize the two evils at play here. “Are you all blind with hate” is a reference to multiple comments only made about the woman, who is not being infantilized in my comment. You’re a big boy, you should have been able to figure this out.
/r/MensRights11/03/24 04:41 PM
-12

Learn to read maybe? I’m talking about multiple replies only mad about the woman.
/r/MensRights11/03/24 04:31 PM
-24

So while the woman here is stupid, the vast majority of blame, fault, and anger should be directed at the vigilantes no? Or are you all that blind with hate?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
