Do you factor the rejections in to when you decide to "hop" to the next bar? Generally, how do you think about calibrating that sort of decision without getting self-conscious about how "everyone at this bar" is perceiving you?

Honestly, doing sit-ups and reading War and Peace would be solid advice. OP's post is basically a verbose and oversimplified take on internal family systems therapy -- which, as it turns out, is actually a useful therapeutic modality for helping people grow up and learn how to take care of the neglected inner parts of themselves.
