The choices men and women make in these situation are different. Men have the right to choose to have sex at the risk of pregnancy. Women have the choice to keep or abort. However, if the woman chooses to keep, the man is equally responsible for the child since he was integral in the making of said child.

I see the thinking behind the law, I'm not in favor of it. Basically I think it would be taken advantage of and that if a man has consensual sex with any woman, he needs to have a firm understanding that IF she gets pregnant, he could be in it for the long haul because there's is no way (nor should there be) to force her to terminate.

Correct, but men can't really have any say once the woman is pregnant because it's her body. Do we agree on this? People will have sex, they just need to be more conscious about who they're having sex with. People seem to be more promiscuous than ever which is great, good for everybody. But when shit does happen, you'll want it to be with someone who will consider the man's pov, ideally. Since only women can carry the baby, there's no way to make the process and decision making 50/50.

I tried to make it clear that I felt he was within his rights to do what he did. That's difficult to dispute so I'm not. I feel that the cop reacted out of anger which is the wrong thing to do. Also, that girl is about to blackout from being drunk, I don't know how likely it is to learn a lesson from this, it's possible.

Again I want to stress that I agree she did assault him by legal definition however I would call her capacity at this point, limited. Which falls under the umbrella of legally irrelevant but for the sake of discussion, that's how I see it. As far as what else could have been done, there are at least 4 officers escorting this person out, I think standing her up and holding her extremities would do the trick. Or cuffing her would really be the ticket. I think the job can get done without the punch…

She was being violent but there are different degrees to violence and while sometimes this kind of force is required and necessary, I don't think her actions were violent enough to warrant the punch. Unpopular opinion so you don't have to respond, I assume you disagree completely.
