Describing reality isn't the same as normalizing LV behavior though! Doesn't mean that women are dumbasses to try to meet and date the few HVM that are out there, just means that that search will turn up futile for the vast majority of women. I think that's fair to say.

I honestly don't know why we even still want to date men. Heterosexuality is a curse. I give up 😂

Yeah I'm gonna straight up say her actions were weird af and I'd have the same reaction if my male partner did that.

My thoughts exactly. At 22 years old I'm finally caving to the pressure to wear makeup. I see it as something that could be fun but all my prior interactions with makeup just screams that it's not for me

I've learned that fwb relationships cost more than they're worth. I had a lot of fun and was treated like a princess by my fwb but ended up with nothing to show for the relationship as a whole. It's not a good feeling and not something I'd ever recommend to other young women. We're leaving fuck buddies in the past. All it does is incentivize fake-deep relationships and make sex incredibly easy for men.

He's right. Most men watch porn. And the ones who are principally against porn are likely super religious...and that's another thing I refuse to tolerate in my relationships. I have resigned myself to living out my life on my terms, whether that be "alone" (why is there such a negative connotation attached to that?) or coupled with a man I feel meets my expectations. If the man doesn't enter the equation then that's fine. I'll make lots of friends and money to fill my time 🤷‍♀️

What a wholesome dream. Please don't give up your amphibious babies for a man. They're so much cuter and will bring you more joy than any man who asks you to give up your life passion for him will.

Bilateral Salpingectomy doesn't affect hormones actually! It's just the removal of the fallopian tubes. Menstrual cycle continues as normal 😊

Yeah the surgery is as minimally invasive as it can possibly be. I was back on my feet within a few days, completely back to normal in a couple weeks.

OP, I'm 22 and childless. I got it done last year at 21 by the first gyn I ever visited. I support you. It"s nice to get the opinions of other women. It can be reassuring. You are not crazy or immature for thinking ahead and taking steps to protect your future. Choose your gyn strategically. I chose a young female doctor who graduated from a really good liberal med school. That worked for me. Start there but don't get discouraged if your request isn't granted. Doctor shop if you need to!

I'm 22 and I got sterilized at 21. I strategically chose my gyn and I had no problems getting it done. I'm probably just lucky, but I'd say choose wisely, OP! And don't give up. Doctor shop if your insurance allows!

I appreciate this, thanks. Like I said, I like to look at these things from the perspective of the "me" that I know at present. These are just things that I know about myself and what I want now. Not to say these things will never change, but most of them I don't see changing. Esp the vegan requirement. I can't share a life with someone who is at odds with one of my most basic ethical beliefs. I understand your concern about older guys. I've dated a couple and both were very sweet, very respectf…

If someone doesn't feel like almond milk is vegan, that's fine. I'm glad there are so many plant sources of calcium that no one has to rely on it for their needs if they feel that way. There's no surefire way to completely avoid animal deaths with modern farming/harvesting practices though as far as I can tell. If by vegan you mean "not harming any animals ever" then no one is vegan. Veganism is actually not defined that way though.

Yeah I agree as well. I don't expect everything to go exactly as planned but there are just some things that I know about myself at this point that I don't see changing. Of course, you can never "see" those things ahead of time, but I operate from what I know about myself at present. I will say that I'm discovering new things about myself at an alarming rate these days. Thanks for this 😊

Yup yup. I'm talking very basic though. Like moisturizer for example, I use any non-comedogenic plant oil that's got some occlusive qualities and castor oil for the humectant. Super cheap. It looks very dewy, or as people who actually have shame would say...greasy. But I like it, it gives me the "glass skin" look that I really like. Nothing feels worse to me than a dry face/lips. I use bar soaps for hands, body, and face , a separate one for each (that's by far my biggest expense. I'm addicted t…

😂 I appreciate the honesty. In reality most things we do "for ourselves" are really so we don't become ostracized by others. Ex. I stay in shape because it's objectively easier to go through life as a skinny rather than a plus size woman 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah posts like this confuse me... the common answer to "why do you wear makeup/hair extensions/etc?" Is always "I do it for myself" but if that were the case then why should it have any bearing on whether a man pays for your date or not? It implies that there's some kind of transaction there. Like because you went through all the trouble to look decent, that he owes you. I don't spend more than like $200/yr on beauty (don't wear makeup, use lots of diy products) and I've STILL never paid for a …

Nah I'm good on the marriage thing. I value Independence and self-sufficiency over everything. "As a wife, you can avoid this situation." We can also avoid it but just not being dumb. Having your own life and career outside of the relationship. Putting yourself in a position where the only person you need to depend on is you. The best way to protect yourself and your assets is not to legally sign half of it away to a person you've known for less than 2 years. 5 years... that's a strong maybe. Bu…

I apologize for making you feel that way. The joke was maybe a bit much (it's a quote from The Office). However, we do understand what you're trying to say. But essentially what you are doing is painting men as lizard brained idiots that we need to compensate and look "pretty" for to appeal to them or we'll be looked over. And you're right. In many cases, that's true. But the men who exhibit that level of thinking are exactly the ones we DON'T want. We all want to be attractive. Men do too. We a…

I'm like 90% against marriage but having a child with someone is one situation in which I feel that it may be warranted, for legal and financial protection of you and your child. Especially because buddy's already up there in age. When your child is 20, he'll be 80... Even so, he's not the guy. He's not ready for marriage but he had a child with you? Just think about that... children are an even more permanent commitment than marriage is. All I can say is, DON'T MARRY BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE EXPECT…

Men can very well prefer women who have "high-standard" look but not prefer made-up women. Makeup, wigs, and weaves do not automatically translate to high standards of appearance. ”why does it bother you so much that a woman take pride in how she looks. Why do you care so much about why she wears makeup/extensions?"--That's not a reason to categorize a man as LV...it's two questions. The first question is poorly formed. Taking pride in your appearance does not have to mean altering your appearan…

I would prefer to be partnered with a guy with a low body count because it shows me we share some values, such as being selfish with who we share the most intimate parts of us with as well as impulse control. .....barring some weird incel shit or considerable age gaps, for me personally, lower body count is better. My ideal partner would have a body count similar to my own.

Sex work reaffirms the notion that women are commodities that can be bought, sold, and controlled. So no matter how much any one sex worker benefits monetarily, it cannot be said to benefit women. It literally puts a price on the female body. Not to mention that you can only get far in sex work if you modify your body and presentation to match men's pornified image of what a woman should look like. It's a step backward imo.

I hate announcing relationships on social media though. It just feels weird. Don't understand the concern for social media specifically. Now, if he's going out of his way to make sure none of his buddies meet you or insists that his family "doesn't need to know" after you've been serious for a while, then there's a problem.

It's definitely pee. Sorry. If it's not ALL pee, it's MOSTLY pee. The only thing that connects to your urethra that produces any substantial amount of clear/translucent liquid is your bladder. Myth created and propogated by porn.

Thanks for putting this into words. We acknowledge the fact that men are trash but then go and legally, financially, and inextricably bind ourselves to them after 2 years (recommended in this sub)? Hell nah sis I'm good.

I will never understand how it's considered pick-me to not wear makeup when so many women feel like they need to wear makeup to be presentable to men...so they'll be picked. Somebody please make it make sense. The fact that women feel like they need to wear makeup to be presentable period when men can just wake up and go is so sad to me.
