1	She knows. Thank you. This is valuable information. I also live in China, but in another city on the opposite end of the country and we're now all Canadian citizens. The divorce has been filed here, in the city that in which I live, which actually allows us quite a bit of protection. 2	Just filed after 15 years... and 5 years after posting on r/SurvivingInfidelity Yeah, we live in China now. That's the thing - she's no longer a Chinese citizen. She'd have to return to Canada. Honestly, the courts work a little more in my favor here in China than they would back home in Canada. Alimony isn't really a thing, although sometimes a temporary (like 3-6 month) maintenance is. The courts do favor mothers, but they look for "child's best interest" and maintaining continuity and status quo. The thing is, she's a distant, passive, but generally pleasant mother at most times. Nobody is all good or all bad, but I just can't deal with all the bad anymore. Can't deal with being, essentially, a slave. Another wrinkle is that she and my children are all here as dependents on my work visa. She will need to get a job to stay in the country.
