I was just commenting that a car battery is not 9volts. If you take a volt meter and check at your battery with the engine off you will see that it is 12.~ volts. If you check with engine running, it will be 13-14.5~ volts. Provided that you battery and charging system is functioning properly. Only way to really know for sure if this will work is to get your phone, a cigarette lighter charger and a 9 volt battery and do an experiment.
