Ok, it's a silly one- the 13th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver from Doctor Who. I didn't like the design, thought it didn't look like a screwdriver and "had a techno-organic vibe to it", as I told a friend of mine in a café at university Cue feminist screeching from another table, that just because it's a female doctor, oh it must be a vibrator, and "have you seen seen a real sonic screwdriver ?" Comes over to complete her argument, as I repeat to her what I was saying "and it was a private conversat…

(BSc Chemistry, MSc DNA Analysis) from a UK perspective. STEM these days is a scam. S- for Chemistry and Biology, most places won't even look at you unless Masters or PhD-- and then expect Minimum wage unless you've got connections- friends or family already in the business, so you can bypass Human Remains, and the dreaded diversity boxes. Physics- half go into finance as they want people who understand Maths, other half teaching. T- Call centre tech support drone, one one centre in Dundee that …

Lucky you- I'm finding ones with at least least three times the padding, extensive bondo repairs, and paintwork embellishments at the same age range, with numerous non-separable attachments (that are their world), and not worth the effort.

I've been doing the subjects I wish I had done in High School during quarantine. Geology, History, Physics, etc Reading the bits I like in more detail than would be covered, no-one to say not "it's not important as its not on the syllabus", or spending the day painting a diagram that would take five minutes to draw just Because. As long as you're doing something, it's productive.

What sickens me the most about this is that its being shown under the Children's BBC (british Broadcasting Corporation) banner, according to the top right logo. Nevermind the state of them, couldn't they make the effort of you know, dressing neatly if they knew they were on TV ?

That word is why I walked away. From the age of 15, Girls/Women have called me "Creepy" whenever I didn't act as an absolute simp slave towards them. School, College, various jobs- when you're not worth anything to them, out it comes. Twenty-five years, and they've yet to come up with something original. Lost count the number of times I've been called or described as that, it's lost all meaning now.

I know. To appease those who Complain, signed up for OKCupid- been there a year, 50 "likes", no messages, no dates. And that's set to Worldwide to find a decent woman, again any messages sent out just vaporise into the aether. "oh the right woman's out there" the complainers say, "just keep trying."

I've asked women numerous times "Ok, if men are trash, what recycling bin do we go into ?"- never get a response.

You know you're going for a major company when the "diversity and inclusion" part of the application is longer than your resume. Found even if you fit the qualifications/ experience part (or are even beyond it), if you tick the White/Straight/Male boxes, your application magically isn't what they are looking for. Have just to get in through the old-fashioned "not what you know, but who" and bypass Human Remains.

I've been enjoying the covid house arrest. Caught up on reading all the things I've been meaning to, organised and optimised the house, so that everything easy to find and get to (no more hunting in drawers for screwdrivers or cables). Granted, not sorted out the garden, but not been the weather for it.

And given the dating profiles I've seen, female is optional- they certainly don't look or act like women.

I'm using all these classes that are now online to learn geology, then when it's OK to travel again go off and see the examples I find interesting.

Yep, Robert Gordon Uni library (UK) has this- Women's and Unisex toilets only. Most of the men on campus are International Students and so just use any, and feign ignorance.

Thought when things got that big, fission kicks in. My mistake. This has been a political message from the Pot to the Kettle.
