Because of side effects.

Wow. Calm down there. This particular situation is cut and dry. But men get charged with rape without any evidence all the time. What makes you think it wouldn't go the other way around for people reporting?
/r/MensRights20/09/16 08:26 AM

No, I'm talking about in cases where there's not enough evidence and it's a he said she said kind of thing. What if the judge decides to side with the aggressor? Says it sounds false even when it really did happen? Judges are assholes some times and don't always use their best (excuse the pun) judgement.

Actually, kind of. In the states anyway it depends on what exactly you're charged with. There's a wide range of charges that would be considered "rape". But I do see your point and cases like this are hard for me to decide on. On one hand, I agree that false rape accusations when completely proven to be false should carry a punishment almost as heavy as the rape itself. On the other hand, I would never want a victim of rape, male or female, to feel like if they can't prove it happened that they …

My point is that the rules are ridiculous. We're all biologically sexual beings whether the school wants to recognize it or not. It's completely ludicrous for a girl to be sent home because her freaking collar bones are showing. Or her bra straps for that matter. They're gone way too far with it. At the very least in elementary schools. Maybe if they wouldn't sexualize small children it wouldn't be an issue. In the same vein, there's no reason boys can't wear sleeveless shirts either. Or have th…

Oh, bullshit. Too short shorts and visible bra straps are sexual signals, the girls know that and are dressing that way to exploit it. Not true at all. Do you know how hard it is to even find shorts long enough "by school standards"? I have to get my 7 and 9 year old daughters bermuda shorts because apparently legs are super sexual objects on prepubesent girls. And bra straps? Guess what? They fall down. On their own. A. Lot. Most every girl/woman I know doesn't want their bra straps showing. It…

I've been following this case for quite some time and it's absolutely sickening. The boy is prone to heavy keloid scarring and doesn't handle anesthesia well. Which means a "routine" circumcision could leave him heavily scarred and literally facing death from the anesthesia. Regardless of the circumcision debate (which I am firmly on the "do not cut until the person being cut can consent" side) it's ridiculous to put the boy through a cosmetic procedure he doesn't want for no reason at all. Just…

In a perfect world, men's rooms would have a fucking changing station! This pisses me off to no end. My exhusband could never change our newborn daughter because there were never changing tables in the men's room. They don't realize men have kids that need changed too.
/r/MensRights13/04/15 12:34 PM

It's changing. Little by little. I just don't see anything in the middle east or africa that says anything about it. I suspect it has a lot to do with religions in those countries.

I don't need a humans rights organizations statistics. Give me something. News stories, witness accounts. Anything. I seriously want to read up on it and have no idea where to start.

It is possibly confirmation bias on both our parts. Where I live, men do tend to be more outspoken against homosexual men while women don't say much or are "party lesbians" anyway. I do think it's pretty interesting how we automatically take our own experiences and use the same data and interpret it slightly differently.
/r/MensRights29/03/15 06:50 PM

I saw that. And I haven't been able to find any studies referencing the countries mentioned in the OP. :(

You've got some good point. I'd have to research it further to be sure. The study I saw said that women are more homophobic towards lesbians too. Maybe it's a same gender bias?

Yeah, I don't fucking think so. I think it's bullshit that you form an entire opinion of what I think from a few comments. I'm not fucking victim blaming, you cunt. I'm blaming shit people like you.

No, and I already told you my point and gave you mine. If it were women doing it, you'd damn sure hear about it here. But since it's men, you don't and I get argued with. I just think more focus should be put on the perpetrators in terms of rehabilitation and mental health help so there would be less victims all together. This sub doesn't see it that way.

President Obama isn't the majority of black people... not a very good analogy But I do get your point. My point was that it's bullshit that people here act like men are always the ones getting shit on when they're giving out their fair share of shit themselves.

At least acknowledge it! Too many men here refuse to. Men are still victims of violence, as are women. Men are still perpetrators of violence, as are women. I'm just sick of seeing people in the sub act like men are saints, when they're not anymore saints than women are.
/r/MensRights29/03/15 11:50 AM

No. I didn't say it did. I just think some focus should go towards that aspect of the issues as well. This place is all about the male victims. What about the perpetrators?

You made my point for me. I have personally witnessed men here imply men are perfect. I support the men's rights movement. I do not support the notion that men do no wrong. I have countless arguments with people here just showing that it's not all about men and it should be about equality. Every single time I get downvoted to hell. Because this sub seems to say poor men all the time when it's the men that's causing the harm in the first place. Men have their faults and this sub needs to realize that they're not all perfect. So before someone says, aww poor men, look into what's causing the violence. Men.

So do a lot of African countries and a host of third world countries. Women are treated as nothing in those places. I can admit that in most first world countries, men have it worse. They are the ones sent to die. They are the ones that are fucked by the courts. But you can't sit there and tell me men have it harder in the places I've mentioned. Men are kings.

Men are more homophobic than women. most (though not all) scientific research has found statistically significant gender differences in homophobia -- specifically, scientific studies tend to find that men are more homophobic than women. Scientific testing of homophobia usually relies on an index (similar to a racism or sexism scale) with questions testing the participant's comfort level engaging in a variety of situations, like "I'd feel comfortable working closely with a gay coworker" or "I'd f…

In my state, Pennsylvania, the woman can drop arrears at any time. The state will order the support and enforce it, but the woman has the power of whether to drop the case and arrears or not. Michigan's retarded.
/r/MensRights31/01/15 11:31 AM

It depends on both, at least in my state. Say you have 50/50 custody, income matters a lot of one makes a lot more than the other. Support would be given to the one that makes less. If you have full custody and the other parent has only partial, you could technically make more than them, but still get support since you have the child full time. Both parents' incomes matter here.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 08:12 PM

I filed all of my custody papers myself with the courts. There's plenty of sites that have the forms for free and if you're low or on a fixed income, you can file an In Forma Pauperis to get the legal fees waived as well. While a lawyer is recommended, you can do this yourself if you have the drive.

I put my molester away after 10 years, with just my word. Of course he was already a convicted pedophile, so it wasn't that far of a stretch, but I did it with no evidence besides my word. Please read my IAMA for how I did it. This is why it can happen. Because young children who are raped or molested are embarrassed and afraid. I agree. But saying rape of a male is worse than rape of a female is a blatantly ignorant statement. One is no better or worse. They're all terrible. This case is as sickening as any other rapist getting away with it. I think this is especially horrid due to the circumstances. But I'm saying its no worse than any other rape. Am i making any sense here?

Rape is bad for all victims, regardless of sex. No need to "woman bash" or get MRA-nazi about it. Equality is the goal. Equal punishments for equal crimes. The case ended wrongly, as we all can agree, but that doesn't mean rape of men is worse/not worse than rape of women.

This is completely stupid. Now, hear me out first. I don't think we should have any type of racial/sex/sexuality type appreciation days. Black history month is stupid. Mother's/Father's day is stupid. No reason for any of it. How are we to start treating everyone with equal rights if we keep acting like everyone is special? I agree with the time frame, but not with this: If you spent 5 years of your life outside of work then one would reasonably expect that after five years of support if you truly wanted to work then you should be back at where you would've been (or at least close enough). It really doesn't work that way. I was making about $9/hr before I got with my husband. We were married three years. Why on earth shouldn't it be? Simply because! Okay, get this. What if the mother is a smoker, or like wine? Say she gets HER paycheck from her job or whatever and spends HER money on the kid, bills, etc. Then she gets child support and buys cigarettes and wine. The court would see that and she'd get in trouble. But she IS taking care of the kid with that extra money, but she needed to use it for something else because of timing. I hope that makes sense. I don't quite understand what you're saying here. The man is dumb if he agrees to a no fault divorce. They have to agreed upon. One can file, but the other can NOT sign it and have a regular divorce. But I also don't think anyone should be alimony forever, or for more than say, 5 year in extenuating circumstances. It's ridiculous.

As the court sees it, the husband (or wife if it's reversed) was the "bread winner" while the spouse stayed home and took care of the children. This makes the spouse accustomed to a certain lifestyle and unable to get a job to sustain said lifestyle due to the lack of work experience. I mean, I get it. But I see your point as well.

Most custody orders involve visitation arrangements. When you get a custody order with no visitation permitted, it's because you requested it and gave reasons why you wanted it. It's not necessarily because those reasons are true. No, the judge is the one that said "based on the history of abuse as documented by the mother and backed up by CPS, the father may not have visits with the child." But of course you know everything that happened with my case and that I'm a big ol' bitch that doesn't wa…

I'm not asking anyone here for fucking sympathy. I've earned custody of my daughter. Biased judges? Really? That was two different judges. He appealed it when he didn't even show up for court the first time. Two judges are biased? Yea.. The bottom line is that you don't know jack shit about my situation. You have no idea what I went through and how much of a fuckface he is to me AND his daughter. You completely ignore the DOCUMENTED, pictures shown abuse by him. You'd rather call me vindictive t…

Very telling - you've already made up your mind. No, he won't see her in his home any more. It's not safe or healthy for her. He can have supervised visits or take her to the park, whatever. She doesn't need to go to his home to see him. That belief speaks volumes about you. As a fellow female, it tells me that your whole deal here is about power and control, which pretty much backs up the first impression you made. Yes, I just explained this in another comment. I have the control! You don't und…

Courts only decide against a father having visitation when his ex asks them to. You just told on yourself. False. He has no visitation because he has ZERO custody. I don't know how many times I'm going to have to reiterate that you everyone here. HE HAS NO CUSTODY WHATSOEVER! It is as if he is dead to her in the eyes of the law. He has no rights to her, he has nothing. I've let him see her since I was awarded full custody, regularly. I have been the nice one in this situation. He's had her for a…

I have every right to dictate the how my ex visits his daughter. I'm nice enough to let him see her when the courts decided against it. SO, if I don't want her going a certain place, she won't go. Period. And you also have no way of substantiating that I'm the wrong one, or that he deserves to see her, so the point is moot. But that doesn't stop people from throwing around accusations towards me. Everyone was quick to jump on "oh, woe is the man", and also quick to say I'm lying. Look through th…

I don't want to get into a debate over the word abuse with you. He abused me, plain and simple. If I didn't call when I got to and left my mother's house, it was screaming and pushing me and throwing things. And yes, it would be abusive with any gender. You sitting here trivializing what I've been through is very insulting. Manipulation is the most common form of emotional abuse. I lived through it. You need to get off your therapist soap box. You don't know what it's like.

Look at this from my POV, sitting here as a woman on men's rights, that has full custody of her daughter while the father has none. I shouldn't have had to bring up any of our past relationship. But everyone here decided that I'm a crazy, vindictive, power hungry bitch because I don't want her going to church. So I had to tell my back story and prove that I wasn't, then more than just you are saying I'm making it up! This subreddit has become jaded. It's not about men's rights. It's about women …

Everything you said is great advice except this: Your daughter's relationship with her father is not about you. It will never be about you. Making yourself the arbiter of it is unhealthy and controlling, and no matter what your therapist says, it's wrong. If you micromanage, you'll have the exact opposite of the effect you think you intend. Instead of protecting your daughter, you'll end up pushing her away. There was some things that happened before that, but it got incredibly more intense after we married. Shit, the morning after our wedding he ordered me to make him breakfast. I mean, I would've because I loved him, but he ordered me to. It all went from there. He was an mental abuser mostly, with a few shots of physical abuse thrown in here and there. You've surely read how he made me call him when I got to my mother's home, three miles away, and call when I left. Called if I went anywhere, wher…

I'm trying to figure out what is actually best for her. To cut him out of her life and her grow up without a father (I do have and SO, been with him four years, so I've always been with him in her eyes) or do I allow supervised visits so she does get to know her father, even if it's to decide later on what kind of person he really is. CPS has it all documented and they did nothing. I called the police and they told me to call CPS. So, other than not let him see her, I don't know what else I can do about it. Jesus, let it go already. The fact that I have the power is right and totally justified by his past actions. If he would behave like an adult, he would've had partial custody. The court saw his record, and his abuse patterns, and that was the end of it. He can appeal in 5 years. Ugh, don't start on the sexist shit. Yes, I think if the man does want the abortion and the woman doesn't, he shouldn't have to pay for it. I meant in the case she gets to have the abortion and he has no say in the matter. I understand it's her body, but it's still his child too. It would be nice if she would have it and give up the rights the way the father should be able in the reverse situation. Yea, and since children's bones are so (dammit, what's the word I'm looking for? pliable?) easily bent?, it takes quite a bit of force to break it. It was a hairline fracture that the ortho doc couldn't even diagnose properly give the way children's bones are. Thank you for your input. I wholeheartedly support men's rights! I don't think it's right that mothers are awarded full custody just because they are the mothers. I don't think it's right that men get no say in whether a woman aborts their child or not. I don't think it's right that men who are raped are treated like wimps or unbelievable. I'm going to be completely honest here. I was with another man and had just had his child. Richard (the father in question) was just a friend that lived close. He was overweight, but not incredibly so. He was there to listen to my troubles. I didn't want to be in the relationship I was in, due to the fact he would not work nor take care of the baby. They did no such thing. I have full legal and residential custody. He has no rights whatsoever to my daughter. NONE! He doesn't pay child support either since he's super lazy and lives off the state. I've told you nothing but facts. I've even provided proof for some. You can surely be skeptical, but I don't see any reason you can't take my word for it. I lived with the man. I was his property. His abuse records. His home's state. A big factor is that he didn't even bother showing up for court. I had a packet an inch thick of all kinds of things on him. He had a yahoo answers post about another child in the house hurting the younger kids. Evidence spoke for itself. The judge could've rescheduled, but had all the evidence he needed. He's not permitted access because he doesn't deserve access. I shouldn't have to defend myself of what I think is best for my daughter. He has 7 people living in low incoming house infested with roaches and bedbugs. If he want's to see her, I've offered him week night visits. He refused. He wants it his way or no way and I want to avoid that home as much as possible.
