Black bears almost never attack. Strangely enough tho', most recorded cases of human predation by bears have been by black bears. Most fatal attacks by North American black bears during the past century were conducted by lone, male animals that stalked and then killed their human victims as prey, according to a new study by the world's top authority on what triggers bear attacks. Though black bears rarely kill or seriously injure people, when they do, it's most often the result of predatory beha…

"The Bear" and "The Edge" both starred the late, great Bart. Herzog's "Grizzly Man" annoys me - Treadwell was nothing but a burned out junkie who accomplished nothing but getting an foolish girl killed and a bear hunted down. You don't treat Grizzlys like pets.

Been in your shoes... I'd go with Roosevelt, also Cyrano de Bergerac. Find someone who knows he is going to fail or has a great flaw but meets the challenge head on.

I will say that a group of thugs who have guns are more likely to shoot someone than a crowd that has no guns but a group of permit holding citizens who have guns are less likely to shoot someone than a group of thugs who have guns. So perhaps there is a range of behavior and it just depends on your sensitivity to the range.

So, no. You don't have any statistics for someone carrying a firearm is more likely to use a firearm without thinking than someone who isn't carrying a firearm. You just refer to some amorphous, aggregate, nondifferential... numbers and think that has meaning when discussing the means and motives of licensed versus unlicensed firearm owners. So you don't see the difference between a trained, cautious licensed user and a street thug. It is all the same to you.

Really? You believe that there is a great deal of evidence backing the idea that licensed firearm carriers are more likely to use a firearm without thinking simply because they have a firearm? Could you show us the basis for that belief?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
