I'm not sure I have ever heard it stated to say a 30 year old, but instead to say a 16 or even a 21 year old, an age group which is many respects still has much to learn. The wording may have issues, but often in my experience what a 'real man' might do is what what a well rounded individual might do. A real man will know how to change a tire, well an individual will be self-sufficient.
