I thought the real conclusion is no matter what you do, make sure you do it on your own terms. Even marriage and definitely career.

I second your decision. The details of the situation are more clear to you, so it's useless to be judgemental about those. The onus of understanding you was on your LTR, and she didn't try, and didn't put off her act until she could. I would have fine the same thing you did.

If you take her back Should not happen. Handled it admirably, shamed her in front of her friends, and should just walk into the sunset of this chick. There's absolutely nothing to be gained from taking her back, only losses.

While I've found that talking yourself into overcoming procrastination doesn't always work, it is possible to trick yourself.
