In my country this is already a thing. The law say that who will be drafted will be decided based on age and military experience. There is not a single word about gender. Of course physical condition of the person also plays a role, but it is still a progress. Edit: I forget to mention that you don't even have to fight if you don't want to. Even if you are man. But you will still have to work in factory.

This happened in Czech Republic. There is a lot of paper work to have gun and you also need a licence. Also using gun would get you in more trouble.
