Politicians name bills in double speak. It's named so if you vote for/against it, somewhere down the line someone can say "You voted against stopping violence against women" in some soundbite on TV. If acts were named according to what they did, the PATRIOT act would have been named "Fuck your rights Act", but that's not at catchy.

I think it's naive and ignorant to say "leftist ideology is repsonsible" for 90% of the road blocks. Certain aspects of extreme certain leftist ideologies have grown like a cancer. Liberals went out of their way to fight for womens rights and other civil rights. Sometimes the pendulum swings a bit too far and extreme groups get a voice because there isn't enough push back by the moderates. The liberals coming around to MRA are not doing so despite their liberal beliefs, but because of them. They…

Did you really need to include the "they're assholes because they went to college and bought into the liberal conspiracy" bullshit? I mean I'm independent but this has nothing to do with liberalism even if feminism has latched on to liberalism. It's because in general, liberals stand up fore civil rights more than conservatives do, which is also why black people tend to vote liberal too. You're oversimplifying something due to your hatred of anything not as conservative as you and it dirties any…

He admits it's anecdotal evidence. I think he meant he's willing to listen to evidence that counters his, not that what he says is true until proven otherwise. He's asking for evidence. Burden of proof is on him for his point, but he's asking for counter points.

Wouldn't it take the same amount of resources to display likes/dislikes in real time though? I'm trying to understand the difference.

Of course they cite the flawed studies as if it's a fact that it reduces risk by 60%. It was pretty disturbing seeing how the women in this video were so passionate about getting rid of the "unwanted tissue"... Thoughts?

I agree! Some aspects of feminism have been good, like allowing women to own property, take loans, and be open sexually. However, it seems to have turned from equality to making sure they are the privileged class to spite men.

The world has been insane since man created civilization. We're just now starting to realize how insane we are. We are peeling back the layers of thousands of years of insane cultural practices and sometimes new layers of insanity get added on. Don't take this as misanthropy. I don't hate people. It's just that we need to stop acting like we haven't always had stupid problems like this. We can use our past as some perspective to how to move forward as a species.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everything you said. I know this is another anecdote but the succubus that married my brother some how brainwashed him or something. It was pretty obvious she wanted to marry him for his money so she could have kids and stop working. She also turned him against our side of the family and didn't invite anyone on our side to the wedding. I don't know what he sees in her because she has absolutely no redeeming qualities, but I digress. I just don't think women should b…

Was your niece ever given a toy truck? Not sure about a truck, but she has been given my nephews legos, and cars, and trains. She'll show interest in stuff he's interested in, and we certainly encourage it. She still seems more interested in her toys usually though. Was your nephew ever given a baby doll? Hmm. Probably not, but I don't think he's showed interest. I don't think it would be discouraged if he did. I certainly would encourage what ever he liked and made him happy. When your niece wa…

Do you really think that girls are naturally inclined towards picking up a barbie rather than a toy truck? Using my nephew and niece as an example, yes. My nephew since a toddler was interested in planes, trains, cars, and sports. My niece since a toddler has been interested in pink, purply, princess stuff, tea party, cooking stuff. I don't think this was pushed onto them by their parents or grandparents. It seemed like they were more interested in these things naturally. You think women do less…

I agree with you. I just think there's a bias against men having strong opinions against feminists, while it's socially acceptable to hate on men. I'm not saying it's right. I'm just trying to think about the best way we as a movement can make our points, and I don't think being offensive is going to change the attitude against us. I also can't find anything misogynistic about the article, but then again I'm not blinded by the feminist blinders that most socially liberal people would be. I think…

I misspelled a word dude. My bad. I was making the point that these kinds of articles can make us look like haters. I am suggesting we try to limit that so we can talk seriously to people about it. I'd classify how a lot of reddit talks about this place as hate. It's not deserved hate, it is because we're misunderstood, but it's definitely hate. I'm pretty sure I'm a self-respecting men's rights activist, considering I am suggesting we don't act like abrasive assholes. Now if you have any points…

I agree with you completely. I'm just saying it seems to be a touchy issue because men take anything regarding their penis very personally. I just hope we can convince them!

I didn't say the article contained misogyny. However the way this person acts can be construed as misogyny. If we also let our conversation consist of nothing but poking fun at people then we wont be taken seriously. If all we want to do is circle jerk and not gain reputation among people who are middle of the road, or indeed are feminists who see mens rights as an issue, then acting like highschool kids isn't going to win us any favors. I'm just saying that we should perhaps use a bit more tact…

Okay I will elaborate. I didn't mean to dictate what people can, or can't say. However, if we want to be taken seriously as anything but a women hating misogynist group, then articles like yours aren't going to help.

I agree. We need to word our arguments carefully as to not make them think we find them as freaks or that they should hate their parents or that they are less of a man. However, they also shouldn't support it if they understand the concept of personal choice and permanently disfiguring a child, even if it turns out okay like it did for them.

I read it as satire and thought it was funny, but I consider the possibility that the guy is being serious with some of his vitriol. I can see why someone could make the joke about atheist having cult followings of these guys, but I don't know if he's being serious or not.

Atheist cult leaders? I hope that's not serious. However, the couple racist articles on the site lead me to believe this is just an asshole using the Mens Rights group to blow smoke up his own ass. I may agree with some of the points, but the way it is presented is childish and really not needed here. Let's not be juvenile. Let's not condone racist bullshit either.

In fact it was feminists who wanted to be sexually promiscuous and didn't want their value or worth tied to a husband/breadwinner.

Fuck it's as if the only way to not be a misogynist is to stop being anything like a man, and to also hate men. Wasn't part of the 60s and 70s feminist movement liberating women from sexual stigmas and encouraged casual sex over being locked down to a husband and family? Fucking irony right there.

What problems regarding consciousness are there, and what does that have to do with Dawkins or atheism? Dawkins doesn't make that assertion. He might say there's almost certainly no god, but not absolutely certain. Your entire comment shows how ignorant you are of what Dawkins actually says. He makes some good points, there's no doctrine or dogma. Seriously where'd you get this idea from?

I only think it's heterocentric mostly because we're mostly hetero and these are the issues that often impact us personally so it's what we'll be talking about. That said, I am totally open to all mens rights issues and even though I'm straight I'm also a gay rights activist. I say the more issues we bring up about inequality the better.

I've known a few guys who loved their girls before becoming unemployed, but suffered mental abuse questioning their manhood after being unemployed, which eventually drove them to break it off. Not saying this is the majority of the situation, but the study doesn't negate that it's possible the man is driven there by suffering questions to his manhood.

I've been bald since 20, and I'm openly ridiculed about being bald everywhere I go. It's to the point where I make self deprecating humor about it just to preempt it. After people get to know me they've even told me they thought I was a creep or an asshole at first glance, but that I'm surprisingly a nice guy. I'm pretty sure this is because I'm bald, because I've never had this problem when I'm wearing a hat and socializing with strangers. Only at the work place where I am forced to not wear a …

Tucker Max is hardly mainstream opinion. His bullshit isn't advertised in pretty much all media. Sure there's that misogynist shit out there but it's not mainstream. You can't buy that shirt at GAP. Society advertises that guys are bumbling fools. Society also advertises that women should be skinny and look for guys to buy shit for them, and that's wrong too but that's not the topic of discussion. If society was divided then why is pretty much every husband in every sitcom a fucking moron, and t…

I agree. It's not just the shirt that's offensive. It's that our culture as a whole sets the man's gender role to be a bumbling fool that is ordered around by the wife/mom and would kill himself if she wasn't around to save him.

I think the problem is that society is okay with advertising things for women that make men look bad, however would be outraged at the opposite.

I think men need a prostate cancer movement. Men are almost guaranteed to get prostate cancer if they live long enough. This is something that needs a movement.

I think it's because some men find male genital mutilation at birth to be a men's rights issue.

Hypocrisy is also strong in this one. "Being drunk is voluntary and people who become drunk are responsible for their actions" I agree with that part, but if having sex with a drunk woman is rape, then you're saying she's not responsible for her actions (IE condoning to having sex). Hypocrisy and double standards piss me off so much.
