Honestly this is a little dramatic for something so simple. I get where you’re coming from but you’re overthinking a crazy amount and learning to relax and not overthink is a very important skill for the future, and especially regarding men. I feel like at 22, you should have the skills (self-confidence, maturity, rationality) to go up to this guy, who isn’t a stranger but a friend, and talk to him about it. Why don’t you just say you’re sorry for coming off cold, that you thought he was pissed …

Why don’t you ask him to not talk to you as much about it or not watch it when he’s around you? Just tell him it’s too much and you want to talk about other stuff. If he doesn’t stop then you have your answer and can choose what to do next. Although that sounds like it’d be a shame if he’s truly as otherwise wonderful as you made him out to be. because it means he’s dumb enough to believe it I mean, people could say the same thing about you. Actually, he could say the same thing about you. Doesn…

Hm personally I don’t believe he doesn’t have a porn addiction or hasn’t been watching something along those lines which is making him act this way. There are plenty of people, religious or not, who wouldn’t want to be involved in swinging. You can be a Christian and find ways to spice things up while at the same time not involving other people lol. I’d start with what he’s been watching though, doesn’t seem like the kind of thing people just randomly decide to start doing

I agree. Health trumps looking sexy 24/7. For the work out clothes, maybe OP could wear the comfy clothes for when she's actually working out. But on regular days, she could wear sexy sporty stuff. I went through the same situation but my boyfriend wanted me to dress much more modestly. Going out in crop tops or showing cleavage, he’s not okay with that if I’m in public (if I’m at home or we’re in private somewhere it’s fine). It’s still difficult for me sometimes. But it’s worth it because I wa…

OP, I just read in your post history that your spouse is verbally abusive. If this were my friend, I would never advise her to re-enter an abusive marriage, whether it’s mental/emotional or physical. You asked him to leave because he was being so verbally abusive, and then he betrayed you. Imho, you shouldn’t stay. But if you do, I’d advise you go to therapy to help deal with the trauma and very strongly encourage him to do the same. I think if people had read your post history, the comments sec…

I did this and I actually miss the jet black 💔 Was one of my favorites in all honesty. But I get you when you say your SO prefers the natural. I think our natural hair color often compliments our undertones the best but because we’ve always had it we want something different. If you haven’t tried it yet, a demi or a demi gloss can help make things look more natural as you try to lift the darker coloring :) Although I might dye my hair lighter in a little while 😅

I felt like I sold out I love how you phrased that honestly. I used to get super in my feelings about insecurities caused by negative influences around me, I would internalize to the max, but as soon as I started looking at it from a more rational POV, I stopped wanting to change myself. I feel lucky in that my SO hasn’t done that to me. He prefers me to not wear make up, he likes my freckles, he thinks my break outs are cute (lol), he hates the idea of me ever getting cosmetic stuff done, also …

Piggy backing what other people have said, you need to be in a caloric deficit no matter what. OMAD is pretty easy to do, just make sure you’re keeping your electrolytes up. Volume eating is an option of how to do OMAD, basically low cal food but a lot of it. Example, a piece of protein like fish/chicken/meat + three cut up cucumbers or half a watermelon, etc, once per day. Try not to snack, it’ll increase the time it takes to lose the weight. It’s impossible for lifting not to do things for you…

I played it takes two with my bf and it was so much fun 😭 there’s also a garden game where you can build a house and you sort of don’t want to play it single player, I’ll try to find it and edit it in in case anyone here is interested lol Edit: it’s called Grounded!!!! Arguably imo as good as It Take Two, plus you can install cheats to move around faster (:

However, the "all" word can have a different meaning to the one you suppose. In other words, a word or phrase’s meaning can depend on the context and the receiver, right? If that’s the case, then your hang up about the word “pig” in comparison to “shapeshifter” doesn’t matter so I don’t get your hang up. Substitute whatever equivalent word that you find to be an appropriate and you’re still left with the issue of what I originally brought up. your interpretation of shapeshifter is very negative.…

Semantics. I mean, really lol. It’s nowhere near as bad? Does “all men are jerks” satisfy my argument then? I’ve heard men use the word “shapeshifter” or “catfish” irl and online as caustically as the word “pig”, so that’s why I used it here. Regardless, whichever is worse subjectively to you or whoever else doesn’t matter. This is similar to how you said the meaning of “all” can mean different things to different people in different contexts. It’s probably just hyperbole but my point was in ref…

No, I don’t really think he is. If he was trying to teach them to look at their character, he wouldn’t be saying “all women are shape shifters”. I’m assuming part of the reason OP has a problem with it is because of the key word “all”, for obvious reasons. What if it was a mother showing her daughter stories of men acting like jerks and telling her “all men are pigs”? There’s a way to go about this and I think OP ought to talk to her husband about this.

How were the studies intended? Do you know my intention? It doesn’t matter if you don’t care about them - your apathy doesn’t change what research has shown. My intention was only to show that attractiveness can be enhanced by desirability. I agree that men also are more attracted to women who are more desirable (trophy wives, anyone?). But I think we can have a realistic conversation about how our culture affects desirability, and what that looks like for both men and women, and culturally spea…

People have different value systems. I think a lot of women in this situation view it either as a nonissue or “just how it is” type of thing. I’ve met women in relationships with men who had crazy body counts, and one of them told me she felt prideful (not in a negative way) and special that he chose to marry her rather than continue to sleep around. Not to be TMI but one of them was just turned on by the fact he had way more experience than her (like…way more) and it enhanced their intimacy. Bu…

Completely agree. I don’t mean to moralize, but it’s honestly a little freaky how many people are saying flirting “isn’t a big deal”. OP’s husband wasn’t “just” flirting. He waited for his wife to go abroad to have an emotional affair with someone else. He lacked the self control and the loyalty to his wife to completely shut it down. At any point, he could have told her he was struggling, but he chose to indulge and cheat while she wasn’t around. All this while they’re trying for children. I do…

Sure c: It kind of looks like suggesting but done so in a way that it’s a bit more assertive than simply implying or showing basic interest. One of the ladies is an equestrian (still is at 60!!). She announced, in a small group of people at the stables (was a club that she recently joined), that she was going to ride her horse somewhere later on that evening and if anyone wanted to come. The only person in the group she knew somewhat well was her now-husband. Back then they were just familiar wi…

Oh yeah I wasn’t saying you said it was a hard rule. I was just adding an anecdote about my personal experience about what I’ve seen out in the wild haha. Most married women in my life let the men ask them out, but the few that I know who initiated first also have long and happy marriages.
/r/RedPillWomen08/08/23 05:56 PM

What I’m about to say is the exception and not the rule, but two of the longest married and happy couples I know started with the woman initiating first. Both have been married 35+ years. Both women basically soft-asked (it wasn’t the standard “do you want to go out to dinner and a movie?”) and got the ball rolling. Generally speaking I think quality men should and will initiate first and you should wait for him to do so, but I don’t think this is necessarily a hard rule from what I’ve seen.

You should move on. If he wanted you back he’d make moves to get you back. Insecurity ruining things is something we all experience. But like the billboard thing, maybe you could take this as a sign, too. It wasn’t meant to be, he isn’t the right guy for you, you can improve your self-confidence, and you learned a few lessons here. Trust me, it’s better to bow out gracefully and cut your losses versus texting him one last time and looking desperate. It’s over and time to move on.

Lol that isn’t implication of causation. It would be if the researchers boiled their result down to age, but I didn’t think I needed to mention that since it’s obvious. I’m saying that I learned about those studies and have seen people link those studies on here, so I find it difficult to hold that bit against this woman or call it bad advice. I think it’s a little reductive to assume I’m not aware that the data is affected by things like culture, generational differences, economic swings, etc.,…

I’m sure there have been lol. High school sweethearts that last until their dying breaths, however rare, are a thing, and I don’t think a factor like social standing is one of the end-all-be-all’s of those types of marriages. My point was that while I agree with you that many older women are out of touch, especially boomer generation women, your post asks, “Why do they give bad advice?”. And there are several instances in the video where I completely saw where she was coming from, agreed with he…

I never said it was. I’m saying that I’ve seen that bit of data be used as advice, obviously contextually, and I don’t think the context in this case is much different from when I’ve seen it used by others on this sub. It seems inconsistent, at least for myself, to be bothered by this woman advising to not get married too quickly or too young when I’ve seen others do the same thing on here.
/r/RedPillWomen21/07/23 07:57 PM

Isn’t there a statistic that shows people are more likely to divorce when they marry too young? I think another statistic shows that if the age gap is too large (I think it’s over 10 years), you’re also more likely to divorce. It’s funny because I found out about those stats on this sub lol. I agree the boomer gen is out of touch, but there’s nothing wrong with advising women to just be careful about choosing their lifelong partner and when. Personally I would also agree that exchanging your “yo…

The places you’re going to get attention from guys around your age are college settings. Parties, sports events, bars, etc. More importantly a lot of people meet each other through their friends. When I first started college, I started getting approached immediately and frequently by guys my age and so did most of my friends. A huge part of it had to do with how quickly we all cliqued up. We all sort of knew each other, which makes a lot of younger men feel way more comfortable hitting on a girl…

About the twitter thing, yeah, I met someone on there in my late teens (I was an adult) and it was bad. Really bad. If you meet someone online and it’s not a dating app, the same dating app rules apply, albeit timing may be different. Meet within 6 months, don’t send lewd/nude pictures, and make sure you go through his following & likes before getting involved. Maybe I’m just traumatized from twitter but getting doxxed is a real thing and I’ve seen it happen to lots of friends. At the same time …

Yeah I do and we got into a huuuge fight about it when I said I didn’t want to a second time. This was sort of early on in our relationship. The first time I said no, the second time I said no, and boom, queue argument. I thought he was wanted it out of jealousy, worry, and testing to see how agreeable I’d be to do what he says. Your mom sounds like a real one lol. I loved every point you had, I can’t pick which one is my favorite. Ok? So why post here if you know the advice you have won’t be helpful since your values are different? I went through your profile and saw that you’ve posted in that 1950s housewife sub which is super fetishistic. I remember the first post I ever saw on there was something along the lines of “Your Job is to Suck and Serve.” All of the top posts are pornographic. I don’t think he’s the bad guy. I think from her post they seem out of sync and need to come back together again. I don’t really care so much about the label of traditionalism as much as I care about loving, cohesive, strong knit marriages and families, which is what I stand by. No one is encouraging her to be resentful but rather reassuring a new mother her feelings are understandable and the situation can be resolved with communicating, patience, and understanding. Nothing wrong with telling y…

? This is a weird response imho. Whether someone is traditional or not, human emotion such as resentment doesn’t dictate who or what they are. A traditional wife should be met by a traditional husband. Since he has a stressful job, a night out every once in a while doesn’t sound too bad. But for it to be very frequent and, on top of that, overnight (!!!)? That doesn’t really sound like trad husband behavior. Additionally, I just think it’s strange to tell a new mother that she is being demanding…

I think there’s a difference between old school liberals (older millennials and up) versus young millennial/gen-Z liberals. I used to live in one of the most blue cities in the country, and my experience was that a lot of older (say 7-10+ years) liberal men were somewhat old fashioned when it came to their relationships. Not entirely traditional the way a lot of RP people consider traditionalism to be, but to the point where I feel a lot of women on here would match with them based on ideals, va…

r/StrongCurves and r/PetiteFitness are two of the best subreddits on here. Highly recommend them if you’re confused about where to start. Petite Fitness in particular is helpful for shorter girls (below 5’4). Also Caliber is a free work out app, probably the best one I’ve ever used. Also I feel like intermittent fasting gets overlooked a lot. My boyfriend used to be a power lifter and even he had days where he did IF to achieve certain things while training. Oh and r/CICO is good, too.

I have nothing to offer since I’ve never been married or divorced, but this reminded me of Steven Crowder, who complained that Texas has a No Fault divorce law, after the video of him verbally berating his very pregnant wife surfaced lol. I think it’s just important to remember there is always a grey area and being totally for or totally against something can often hinder people rather than get them what they want.

Yeah thank you 🙌🏻 The rules say moralizing isn’t allowed and all types of people are welcome, which is great and how I think this space ought to be, but that doesn’t mean this place should become a kink space (really any space other than what it is meant to be already) and I don’t think that’s the mods’ intentions either.

Idk why this is being downvoted. This isn’t even a critique about OP’s interests with the kink stuff. One of those subs has pretty hardcore messaging about being a housewife, but it seems like some of it is geared toward “if you’re not doing it this way, you’re doing it wrong” (look at the most popular post in the 1950s one). Like, it makes sense I guess, but I feel like it’s not totally out of the question that maybe “feeling like a failure” at 21 for not having kids (sorry but lol) may be link…

No one is saying it isn’t. The comment by the person you responded to is simply pointing out the poor choice of words. Words have power, so this person is just giving a reminder of that, ie stick to “saving up” over “fun”. What you or anyone else on this sub thinks of her doesn’t matter; the advice we’re meant to give is how to communicate with potential partners. girls just wanna have fun. That’s all they really want. No, that isn’t all they want. People don’t choose to have kids and a mortgage…

Lol this isn’t shaming. It’s just that most men in this sphere or with similar ideals tend to want kids. Maybe the question wasn’t phrased the best way, but it’s something men will ask you in the dating phase anyway, even if you screen them out. Hell, everyone asks, men and women alike. However, I disagree about the “putting out” thing since RPW already teaches that we should be available in that sense as much as possible, save for times off illness/distress/etc. OP, I think the red flag is when…

No offense, but this reply comes off as wicked jaded. Unfortunately, it seems like you’d be surprised what a good man would do for a woman he truly respects and loves. I say this with respect and empathy for you. If you choose to wait to “believe it when you see it” with your current S/O, you’ll probably end up waiting for a long, long time. I’m confused why you’re considering marrying a man who openly checks out other women where you can clearly see him doing so, uses porn even though you are not okay with it, and has caused insecurities in your sex life (based on what you’ve said). The first two may or may not be total deal breakers, but the last one is very alarming since you’ve also said you’ve felt “nonexistent” in the relationship. I agree with this. I also think going forward, OP should screen out men who follow OF accounts or a lot of instagram models on social media. It’s one thing for a man to unfollow these accounts once he’s in a relationship, it’s another for him to continue to actively follow and browse through them when he’s with someone. I’ve heard of this rule actually but more so in medical circles. I think it’s 18-24 months but less than a few years. I also think this is the reality for many couples in the US right now. I know a lot of couples and families that are choosing to space out when they have kids because of economic reasons, which can save a marriage in some cases. Besides medical reasons to wait a while before having another kid, I think this advice applies to thousands of couples who simply cannot afford to have c…

I mean, why would you face fierce competition among women of other races? Most people date and marry within their own race and if they’re truly religious, their own religion. There are studies showing white men, on dating sites, primarily match with white and then Asian women. If you’re thinking you’re going to face “fierce competition” to find a white dude to marry, when you yourself are white, then I think this is an issue of either self worth (ex: suggesting that dying your hair blonde would …

I never slept with him or did anything with him besides kiss a few times but I was in a very similar boat to you regarding some of the other stuff you mentioned. And when you say nightmares, I know exactly what you’re talking about and feeling. Same thing happened to me. It would actually surprise you how many girls have done stuff like this, not even trying to be camgirls but essentially ending up that way even though they …

Lol the emotional and sensitive thing is so shortsighted, sorry OP. I know masculine men with incredible emotional depth and part of the reason why they’re so charismatic and well liked is because of their sensitivity, as in, they’re very aware of their emotions and the feelings of others. I think a better point would be inappropriate displays of emotion or emotional irrationality/volatility. But that’s not a feminine trait. Maybe you mean overly sensitive but this is a distinction that is neces…

Uhm, I don’t know how this isn’t cheating. I feel like this is clearly a subjective thing. I literally cannot imagine liking another guy’s entire profile + DMing him about something “revealing” he’d posted, and my boyfriend staying with me or vice versa. Some people consider purposeful flirting cheating, too, which is how it is in my relationship. Maybe the people who said otherwise have a different idea of cheating, but this would be it for me. I would leave in a heartbeat especially at 20. I’m…

I feel like this is true and false. In the context of normal men who want monogamy and a family, then women still hold the keys to sex and dating. In the context of the current world, however, where polygamy and hypersexuality have been increasingly normalized, hookup culture has been normalized and forced upon us, dating apps exacerbated hypergamy imho, sex is easily acquired if you have the money for it, porn usage and addiction have been on the rise for decades, men aren’t making as much mone…

Best case scenario, he cares enough to do that and cares if you find out and he won’t go creeping again. How is he in other regards? Is he a good partner? Do you see anything long term with him? Can you see you two overcoming other challenges in the future? Does he do anything else shady? I don’t think the knee jerk reaction to leave is a healthy o…

If you’re in college then it’s probably just where you’re looking and the amount of time to men you’ve met ratio. Maybe your experiences have been different to mine but a lot of military guys are like that - crass, intense, unflinching when it comes to sensibilities I guess (like the joke you mentioned). Yeah I went through a phase before getting with my boyfriend where the attention suddenly didn’t feel so good anymore. It actually felt really, really bad. Like to watch men, of all ages, in real time and right in front of me, mentally undress me, and then realizing that it was ME who chose to leave the house dressed that way and I had no one else to blame but myself — that really freaked me out. I’m Catholic and I have never seen this. Lol. Maybe it’s my age, where I live, my denomination, or something, but a lot of Christian women I know are super proactive when it comes to dating. Like my deep southern Baptist friends to my hardcore Orthodox friends have never just…literally waited for it to happen. You’d think this point would’ve been stressed already on a sub which frequently has the advice/foresight commented that “most men want children/a family”. I’m 5’1 and have been underweight several times before; even at my thinnest, you could still see the bump where my internal organs were. You can even kind of pinch it. It’s not fat, it’s literally your insides lmao. The fact her boyfriend is grabbing at her stomach given her problems and THIS is what she made of losing 5lb is crazy to me.

I mean, you’re dating someone who goes for younger women. He might be a creep, but did he ever lie about that? Because right now, you’re choosing to be with a guy that tried to pull a 19yo at the age of 39. 20 really isn’t that different from 19. The only thing you can do outside of yourself is talk to him. This sounds much more like a fetish thing than anything. I also think it’s worth mentioning how alcoholism skyrocketed back in the good old days of the 50s, how underreported domestic abuse was, and how women often couldn’t just leave or go to the police. For foundation personally I use MAC Studio Fix almost every day, if I use liquid foundation then Maybelline Fit Me, full coverage for a fancy event I use Estée Lauder’s Double Wear, and tint (which is different from foundation imho) is either Missha’s Perfect Cover BB cream or EM Cosmetic’s cushion foundation. A lot of these depend on your skin type. It’s impossible to answer what the best is when you don’t mention if you have dry/oily/normal/combo skin, what your skin tone is, if you have sensitive skin, etc. I recommend r/PaleMUA for base recs (including blush/bronzer). R/MakeupAddiction is good too. My #1 mascara tip is to find a mascara with a tubing formula. Other people with kids have left better replies, but one thing I think people don’t always talk about is the well-being of the actual child and not just enjoying your childless life right now. Like, you have baby fever and you want to have a baby because of your own desire to, but would that be the best thing for the future child right now? Is it more heartbreaking to wait a few years to really get yourselves together before you have a baby or is it more heartbreaking to imagine the child in a h…

A few weeks ago I was violently nauseous just from a cup early in the morning - it was sickening 🤢 My system is just really sensitive to coffee and energy drinks for some reason. As for the tea, are you sure it’s not the tannins? Some teas have tannins, which can make you sick (nauseous) if you drink without eating or the tea is heavy on tannins.

Prioritizing anything over the safety of your children isn’t a feminist issue, it’s a cultural one, and maybe you should focus on your culture’s failure to do so rather than western women lol. You’re not even one of us so why do you care?

Well, I guess is attachment theory is just another psych idea, then it probably does come down to belief. I think much of your belief on this is based on your own ideals; every situation is different, every kid is different, even when we’re speaking in generality. Personally, I’ve seen two cases where the caregiver (nanny isn’t an accurate term for it here) became the primary figure, and it has lasted long term. Neither were family. I understand, but it’s literally true. I think we’re on totally separate pages about what “can” means and what the attachment is. The hormones, chemicals, etc that bond a mother to her baby is irreplaceable; biologically, there is nothing that will or can compare. Add to that a mother who, even if she works full-time, spends quality time with her kids, she will most likely (if not certainly be) the primary attachment figure in a single-parent home. There are studies showing that quality time>qua…

Not unreasonable to want security and for your husband to make good on his promises. In terms of logistics, keep applying to different jobs/see if you qualify for food stamps/go to soup kitchens or low income markets/etc. Tell your family what’s going on and see if they can help, if possible. The debt thing is very concerning to me. I’ve seen so many men say they don’t want to marry someone with a lot of debt…and we can see why. Can he apply for loan/debt forgiveness? Refinance at all? In terms …

Ok I can go ahead and do that :) Should I make an entirely new post or just edit this one?

I definitely will, I feel like I should have left it up for other women who are in need of some advice :/ But anyway, this thread really helped remind me we need to work on communication. Thanks again :)<3

So I spoke to him yesterday and basically let myself cry and be open with him, which I think triggered his protective instincts. He was very apologetic and said he didn’t realize that these certain things were making me extremely upset. I mentioned to him how I also need to hold my end of the bargain up regarding certain things so that he wouldn’t feel as if I was attacking him. We gained a sort of resolution so now I’m hopeful as to where things go. As far as the “why” he’s with me, he just rei…

Thank you :’) I’m a bio major so this made me laugh. I can’t believe I never thought about telling him this. I appreciate your response.

I’m so sorry about your experience, and I’m glad you found someone who builds you up. My partner does bolster me and encourage me and also supports me, he does so many nice things, but sometimes he says stuff that is so cruel and poorly thought out. So, for example, he tells me not to lose weight all the time, too, but then he randomly negs me about my appearance or height. It worries me for the future because there are too many mixed signals. I’m going to talk to him about this. Thanks for resp…

Hi, thanks for responding. This is someone who I’m still dead set on marrying. Like, we have stuff in place to get engaged and married already. I feel very guilty because this is entirely one-sided and I can’t give all my specifics. Also, thank you SO much for that handle, security is a big deal to me and I feel like I’ll benefit a lot from her insight. Thanks again.

Yeah, I do. He teases and negs a LOT and sometimes it’s really, really difficult to deal with because he won’t stop until I make it known. I want to talk to him first before I make any decisions about leaving, though, since we have a life together, etc. Thanks for responding.

Sneak dissing is a really good term for it. I don’t feel like he’s pity dating me, it feels more like he loves me and is committed, but that he wishes I was a little different. And he makes it known he wishes I was different in those ways. It makes me feel less-than almost. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you for responding. I plan on asking him a variation of this. One of the things he’s said is that he’s with me because he wouldn’t be able to find someone like me - that I have a huge heart and I’m very accepting, loving, and encouraging. At the same time, when he lists my inadequacies, he says stuff like, “Well, I should be grateful that you’re x, y, and z, even if you’re not [insert what he wants].” I’m lacking in like 2 traits he likes, but I just think it’s so hurtful to have him tell …

Yeah, the cheating comment stunned me. I was so upset about that and when I brought it up to him, he changed the conversation to something that I did to upset him. He has valid reasons to be mad at me for what I did, but afterward, I found myself apologizing for it instead of what we were originally talking about. At the same time, I feel like I haven’t made changes I told him I would, so maybe that’s where some of the frustration comes from?

“Asking for validation” and “exploring my feelings” are essentially identical in your case based on your post history. You ARE asking for validation because you want other women in a similar situation to chime in and act as a support group for you, hence the “I wish I didn’t feel this way”. This is very obviously an emotional call for help, and in case it isn’t obvious, no forum or website will give you what you need. I saw in your comment history you basically refused therapy because you live i…
