Hell, a while back there was a news article with a catchy headline - something like "people don't read articles before commenting on them" - and a body that said "this is an experiment, and if you DID read this article, do NOT comment on it." People commented en masse. I think it would be helpful to rephrase comments like "moralizing fucksticks" to something along the lines of "people who don't add to the discussion or launch personal attacks" - ie. what reddit's up/down votes were originally intended to be. The current phrasing reeks of children fighting in youtube comments, and I think it could only serve to set that as the status quo, causing more problems than solving.
