Thank you. Your reply really touched me. I may have to go with a wig for work so that people don't think I'm either 1) going through chemotherapy or 2) trying to show my #edges. With all due respect, I think you're projecting and extrapolating quite a a bit given the limited information I have provided on this specific aspect of my life. I'm a 22 year old girl. I have enough on my plate already, I'm really not going to "what if" and analyze whether or not my boyfriend will eventually leave me because of how fucked up this experience has been. Ugh ik. Some days I can slosh off the hair and throw it in the garbage but once in a while I meltdown. Just thinking about him lording over me makes me angry. He gets mad because he supports me, picks up my prescriptions, makes doctor appointments, pays for apartment, garage, trip to Europe, airfare etc. so when I'm crying his reaction is "WHAT DO YOU NOT HAVE?" Spot on. He comes from a history of stoic men, so I think his instinct is to downplay and minimalize, which does come across as insensitive. That and the fact that he really doesn't want me to be bald lol.

Thank you for the support. I agree. I do think he has handled this aspect poorly. Although I try to give people the benefit of the doubt when talking about hair loss. I've learned that if you've never personally experienced it, you really can't fathom what it is like.

Great suggestion! Yeah. I know he will be less attracted and alter his behavior towards me. It will destroy me so I've been extremely hesitant. Idk if you ever watched sex and the city, but there's an episode where one of the characters buzzes his hair off too in support of Samantha, his girlfriend. Kind of makes me wish that were the case lol.

He does care. It's hard to explain, but he still buys my groceries, helps me with legal writing at work (he's a lawyer & I'm a paralegal), pays rent, massages my back, etc. When I mentioned cutting my hair, he keeps saying "if my arm was broken I wouldn't cut my whole arm off." Which I think is a stupid analogy. I just feel like I need his support and approval before doing it, which is kind of sad.
