..And never go back. Have principles. If your friends value you, they'll make allowances. Valve screwed L4D1 owners over with L4D2, so I didn't buy it. We carried on playing L4D1 in stead. EA are a horrible company, so I'm not buying from them anymore. My friends are now actively suggesting small-developer multiplayer games. Win win. I was the only cis in a house of trans for a while; if your trans friend hasn't "gone stealth" (no longer acknowledges their biological gender) you may be surprised about how candid they'll be if asked without prejudice. Be prepared for a lengthy discussion if you start comparing gender roles though.
