I see this advert very differently. The narrative here is that all the men are off fighting in some muddy trench for foreseeable future, so the women and children are left back home with zero support. They’ve got to make ends meet to carve out a future while the guys are getting blown up. Adverts like this aren’t about a Ukranian girl looking for a serious relationship - it’s sex-work and sugar daddying, which would probably not have been that girls first choice had she had a future in her own c…

No More Mr Nice Guy is good, but sex-wise it makes absolutely no comment on the scenario of no sex at all and wife not interested in it. It covers infrequent sex and strategies for guilt around sex (I have none), but the rest was quite interesting. I note the author’s been married three times thought, so I’m guessing that he’d advise 3. However, I agree with you on 2. But I’ll see if wife open to more discussion first. People commented she may be having affair, but I’d bet my mortgage that she i…

She does work, to be fair. I do alot more hours but she’s not what you’d call a “kept woman”.

I agree with everything you say, but I think it’s almost gone too far now. When we first married the sex was great, but after all these years of nothing and after lots of frustration and agonising I have now become deconditioned and I’m not even sure I want sex with her anymore due to the years of rejection and being told off and feeling like a pest. I know I shouldn’t but sex-wise I’ve even thought of stepping outside the marriage - I never had a problem getting a GF before marriage and I don’t…

Yeah, all these comments are actually really surprising and inspiring. I think it is time to change. You present a really different viewpoint, kellykebab, and I think you are right and loads of other people pointing out same thing. I also really like the pretending I’m getting divorced, but not narrative. That woukd work on a contrarian like me.

I live in UK. Thanks for all the advice. I’ll have a look at the Glover book and I like the idea of writing down how I feel about things and possibly presenting it too them. Re divorce - I’ve worked too damn hard to get what I’ve got to lose half of it, and also I don’t hate my wife - I just think she’s really mixed up what her priorities should be. Couldn’t imagine getting married again, anyway - would end up another rinse/wash/repeat. However, as far as sex goes, I’m going to have a good, long…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
