You're 100% right on the conspiracy theory piece. I guess for me I just never cared too much about politics and I find it interesting to hear both sides and almost play devils advocate when thinking about things, but because I don't really take a stance on many political things I get very annoyed when people speak in absolutes or like they know that they are most likely right. Through this relationship I realized that I care more about politics or I have stronger beliefs than I initially thought…

Is there anything I can try to change about myself to make it easier to be with someone like that? At least to try and see if anything can be done before throwing it all away?

A) 33 B) nothing really comes to mind. He has a good relationship with his father, his parents separated when he was older and since then his relationship with his mother isn't super strong. He's mentioned how he wants to ensure we continue to try for eachother because that's where his parents went wrong. I wonder if thats what drives how well he treats me. C) I understand that. He's much more interested in politics, and questions certain "theories" and things that mainstream media presents as f…

I think he was always a little bit like this. He has a lot of other redeeming qualities but I just have to decide if the pros are worth the cons and how much it bugs me I guess

Thanks for sharing. I've tried the indirect approach you mentioned as well which he responds to in a similar way. It usually won't fully cheer him up though and I end up having to be around a "grumpy" bf for a bit until he eventually turns around. I'm just not sure if this is a deal breaker for me given how often he seems to be frustrated and that it ends up ruining the mood and the vibe. It feels exhausting and just not like a good time to have to keep trying to bring up his mood so often. Idk …

I'm gonna read the book you suggested I didn't know she had one for singles thank you! Do you have any other suggested readings or links? Especially for learning what questions to ask early on and for figuring out my own priorities and goals

Great post thank you! What are some of the questions that you ask in early dating? Or do you have any resources you reccomend reading for dating?

Thanks for posting the update. I have a similar situation with a guy who seems "great on paper", great in person but over text he comes across really strong/intense and insecure. I only went on one date and usually I drag these things out for a while but his texting just got more and more intense. Literally every second message was a compliment, he was talking about going on vacations (sometime in the future but stil). I eneded it tonight before our scheduled second date tomorrow and was wonderi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
