Fair criticisms, but they apply equally well to a huge amount of statistical and sociological information, and I think we understand and can account for those kinds of biases pretty well. The results are probably based on surveys that ask questions like "How many hours a week do you use computers to play video games?" and "How many hours a week do you use computers for educational reasons?", so it's probably down to the respondents' definitions. It doesn't seem like a terribly complicated thing though. To me "educational reasons" means I'm using the computer to do work or research as part of my formal education.
