Oh kinda like how it was classified information that the NSA was spying on American citizens and recording every phone conversation or text? Uhhhhhh yeah I bet when that came out that you were one of the braindead morons blaming the whistleblower rather than holding the NSA responsible. No, not just as sport. We televised war!!! We find violence so appealing that we fucking broadcasted it into our living rooms so we can watch people die while we eat dinner. And going back in time... Human sacrifices were huge spectacles for every civilization that practiced them. And again in Rome, the Coliseum was not all about sport and fair fights, it was more about brutal violence and watching people get decapitated. Again, it's as human as human gets. For what it's worth, they scrimmaged again the very next day, and Grant Hill who was also on that college team said they "couldn't even get the ball past half-court" in that next scrimmage. I'm guessing the Dream Team didn't take the first scrimmage seriously.

That college team that they lost a scrimmage to was a collection of the best college players in the country... Players like Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Bobby Hurley, Eric Montross, Jamal Mashburn, Rodney Rodgers, etc.... They were all future NBA stars. It's nothing at all like the Women's Dream Team losing to some High School kids.
