I'm really sorry that happened to you. It's incredibly shitty of them to do that and I hope you have other people in your life that are more supportive of you. Nobody deserves to be made fun of for shedding tears or denied their feelings of sadness. In my experience, most women aren't like that. There are people out there that aren't assholes.

Sorry bro I just get off on triggering "nice guys". Not my fault if you can't get laid. I get how that's frustrating but just look at yourself. I wouldn't fuck you, and I fuck guys occasionally. I'mma ride yo bitch like my steed tho ya cuck. PM me if you want some sloppy seconds.

No I'm not in any way trying to say what she did was right. I just meant that it was actually savage. Like it was fucked. I don't think it's good to promote that kind of direct animosity at all. It engenders more hatred on both sides

I think he means that they would say that they're just not into emotional men

Maybe you missed the otherwise? I should have made it more blatant. I stuff hot muff every god damned weekend after I ugly, drunk cry in some random woman's arms. But in all honesty, emotional vulnerability can definitely get you fucked, if that's all you're looking for. It has also led to stronger, more trusting relationships, including ones that involved sex you little horndog ;) Actually sex immediately after that kind of shit has consistently been good. It's emotionally charged and tears mak…

Depression is fucking exhausting though. Never more so than for the person experiencing it themselves. I've ruined some relationships with mine, and I've had to let people go due to theirs. I understand when somebody can't handle another's mental illness. I have a sibling that I haven't spoken to in years due to the way her bipolar disorder affects her. I feel terrible for her, and I'd love to help her, but I can't spend my life trying to do that. I understand when somebody tells me they can't b…

You're right. I definitely come on stronger here than most and some people aren't down with it at all. I also do it with a lot of dark humor and some distance from the real "feelings" aspect to begin with. Rarely to I ugly cry into strangers arms, but shit happens. By shit I mean gin. Gin happens. In the end, I've made great friends through it and have been told that it makes those around me a lot more comfortable opening up about themselves I think that's a good thing

I'm not trying to say that women don't tell men to man up. I do think it's less prevalent now than in the past (edit: in general, not only applied to women). Personally, the "man up" line has come from men a lot more frequently. Maybe it's just that I hang out with men most of the time, but it wasn't my mother or sisters or significant others telling me that. It was my father, my coaches, and male freinds/acquaintances telling me to keep from showing emotion.

Why paint with such huge brush strokes. There are many university classes that you would label as feminist, meaning they're in the women and gender studies departments, that do exactly this. There are feminist seminars for men addressing the damage that denying they emotions causes.

There are going to be women on both sides of this issue, just like everything else. Some want to uphold masculinity and tradition. Some want us to live in a more accepting world. There are probably some that really do just dislike men, but they're a tiny portion and they have a microscope on them because they can be so ridiculous and the stupid things they say are easily used as political ammunition. I consider myself a feminist. I have a ton of friends who would say the same of themselves. They…

At least it's dissonance now. I think feminism is responsible for most of the discourse on masculinity in the west and its negative side effects on men. Before, "man up" would have been the only thing heard by men.

I have found just the opposite from personal experience. Emotionally connecting with women has been an awesome source of relationships, platonic or otherwise. Some women might be put off by it, but I don't think that kind of woman is somebody I want to be around.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
