They don't know why they do it, but they sure as hell know what they are doing. This is true. As hard as it is for me to admit it, I know from personal experience. Don't believe the hamster! It's just the front a woman puts up.

Sad but true. Our culture has destroyed marriage... No accountability for women

There may also be more than a handful of religious guys reading this... and as we all probably are aware, marriage is an arrangement thumbsed-up by God when done properly

The comments section under the article contains fun (or infuriating, depending on your mood) debates over the "political correctness" of the article's title.

I guess it would depend on the amount of time it takes the wife to simmer down and start looking at herself and see where her attitude needs to shift. A full day is way longer than necessary in my household, but if that works better for you and yours, well then, there ya go!

By definition, if I am in a committed relationship as a provider I'm already going against everything TRP says Why do you say that? What I get out of TRP is: always work toward bettering yourself, and don't try to act like the opposite gender. I know that most people who read/subscribe to TRP are not married, but I think the concepts apply very very nicely in a traditional marriage. I am drawing on my own experience, and I also see comments in TRP and RPW from people saying how happy their marri…

to what extent do you not care what other people think? I care about what the following people think of me the most (and in the following order): 1) God 2) My husband 3) My children 4) Female friends (which are more like very comfortable acquaintances, since I don't hang out with any of them often) 5) My boss/managers, since the way I do my work and how I am perceived there has a direct impact on my paycheck (AKA my family) 6) People who come to do business at my place of work (since how I am pe…

"just enjoy each other for a while before having a baby". Yes, this advice was given to me too... what age were you when you got married? Do you feel now that your 'time to enjoy just each other' was too long? Sorry if I seem nosy, I am compiling information in my head to use in discussions with my daughter when she is older. I'm also enjoying learning about other people's reasons for actions. And there will always be stuff you can't do or buy for a variety of reasons, regardless of whether you …

Yes. The author of the article said “Even though a number of women still stay at home, a cultural shift has put them on the defensive.” At my place of work I can see this sad trend alive and well when we have to ask questions to people about their work status. The options on the list (on the computer drop-down) we can select as answers include the word "housewife," and now most employees don't directly use that word when asking, but rather let it come up by the person bringing it up themselves. …

Don't overestimate how much energy it takes to have good sex. Once you get going, it's not that hard, even if you're tired. Not every night (or even most) has to be marathon sex. Very true, I can attest to this and my husband reports that he is happy and satisfied in general. Great advice! ♀

the counselor (a woman by the way) told me I needed to start standing up for myself. That made me super happy. So rarely do I ever hear about counseling having a successful impact, other than the counselor reinforcing society's view: that men should appease women and not the other way around. And to bend over backwards to protect the woman's feels. I'm seriously impressed with you by your story. Kudos, man. Maybe the actual RP "talks" are the ones that involve dread game. The big ultimatum. That's what worked for us.
/r/MarriedRedPill09/09/14 06:31 AM

Is this something that happened to you? This is not how my husband's "talk" went down. His deluge consisted more of anger, fact-seeking, and me facing those facts and not hamstering around them. He was truthfully a little scary for a few weeks there. Had he not initiated this talk, he'd have probably left my bitchy ass. It was 'the talk' that inspired me to change.

I'm only going to reply based on my own personal knowledge, which is limited. From where I sit, it looks like your emotions are one aspect that may be turning him off from you. I could be very wrong, but I thought I would bring it up. I was still very emotional over everything that had happened so I was probably acting weird. You mentioned more than once in your post that you have been super-emotional. Men don't seem to like it when we aren't in control of our emotions at least most of the time.…

Agree. When I say how much my marriage has changed they might ask "how?" That's when they may actually listen to the concepts. But unfortunately usually not even then. Just like losing weight or other difficult things... they make excuses and blame others. ("Oh, well my husband would NEVER step up and be a good leader..." or "I can't trust him to be in charge of the finances..." etc) So sad :( I agree though, just trying to be the best example is the real way to get others to want to learn it.

To be RP, a man MUST experience at least one traumatic/difficult event and learn to pull himself out of it. Must deal with real shit and keep going in pursuit of his mission. Otherwise, he is not committed to personal growth at all costs, and not committed to leading from a place of confidence, but from a place of pain. Fantastic words. Love it

I did post on this topic once. I have been the sole breadwinner for 6 1/2 years. A few things in my original post are a bit different now. In my post I mentioned that I initiated less often than he did, but that is shifting. I think we're a lot closer to 50/50 now. Also, I had a lot of anxiety that I was not doing things right. A lot of this anxiety was because my husband was still in the anger phase after discovering theRedPill. See link: http://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/comments/24ivkl/are…

Shrug.. I think forgiveness is a very abstract concept, and I'm certainly no expert, but I'll do my best to explain my view a little more: I think the word forgiveness can be broken down into two concepts: 1) A 'moving-on' from the event that was hurtful (like recovering from trauma, kind of) 2) Regaining trust in the person who did wrong What I meant by what I said is talking more about the 2nd part. Yes, it feels good and is downright essential to 'let go' of a situation that was hurtful (as i…

Women do not take men and make them into strong, capable leaders Totally agree. What I meant by "more powerful" is kind of summed up in a bodyguard analogy. If the woman submits to the man enough that he will protect/provide for her happily under any circumstance, when she has a problem he will want to fix it for her. He then uses his masculine power to do what she wants. That's the woman's power. I didn't mean to imply that she manipulates him to do anything she wants... The man still has to WA…

I'm not ken to leave things undone What I see from this is that you didn't trust him to lead, and you took it from him. Did he begin to have resentment first, or did you? True, but to be forgiven, one must be sorry first. One can effectively ignore the faults in their partner, even indefinitely. However, they probably can NOT truly forgive them of a slight if they don't feel the other person regrets their wrongdoing.

Agree with both of you, however, the point of red pill theory in my husband and I's eyes is to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for your own actions. Yes, he was beta, but she wasn't fulfilling her end of the bargain. In my experience, the woman holds more power than the man in the game of dominant/submissive. The more a woman submits, the more a man loves her and wants to be her captain. To summarize: It was a two way street the entire 20 years, and they were both likely trained how to 'do' marriage by the …

Hahaha! Make a video for Youtube! For reals though, maybe you could ask him if he enjoys any particular songs that YOU sing. If your voice is nice, he might like you singing something that could surprise you. Also, a lot of this depends on your vocal ability (how well practiced you are and such). One of the most lovely styles of singing to me (my husband likes it at least a little too) is stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh6s71MicgY This kind of music spills into other genres and…

A woman who is sweet, happy, innocent, and all love AND also sexy is the masculine man's greatest weakness. ...yes, and in my experience, even a not-so-masculine man's weakness. Only the homosexuals are immune to a truly feminine woman's effects.

Regarding a submissive woman expressing her differing view on a subject with her man, I liked this comment that was below the article: "If a woman challenges a man while asserting her opposing opinion and he changes his opinion to agreement with hers, she loses respect for him. Whereas if she approaches the conversation submissively and maintains his affection towards her, considers her opposing opinion and then finds agreement with her, she maintains respect for him." My husband is sort of one of those products-of-his-parents plus his own inherent personality. Translation: He was always a little naturally RP but the world around him taught him BP theory. Add to that: I was formerly a real biotch of a wife until he discovered TRP and straightened out our roles a bit. Long story short, life's never been better, and it likely would not be so if not for hubby finding TRP on Reddit.

While I agree with you on one point (that lower body fat is the way to go in terms of waistline), I disagree that working your abs doesn't do a lot without that low body fat. Someone who's 10-20 lbs away from their goal weight would still see some tightening of the waist from doing an ab workout. Not saying they'd get abs like in the picture linked above, but change is change and even a small change is motivating for people, as long as it's perceptible.

I haven't found a face product that doesn't make me break out except for some simple astringents. (And I'm 33 years old... it STILL does that!) I just wash with water and dry with a towel kind of roughly. I can't/don't need to use moisturizers, due to the same reason. I'm a bit of a low-maintenance gal in that department.

If you are looking for the LTR to end all LTRs, it is a prerequisite that the guy you end up with has the same goal. It's not enough for someone to say "I love you and want to be with you" since their mind can change in a very short time due to our natures. This is why I advocate waiting till marriage for sex. Which to me is most of the reason for marriage. I hope my viewpoint isn't totally dismissed offhand just because it's atypical, but I thought I'd put that out there.

| I am wasting my 20's Why do you say that? Guys like women who haven't had a lot of partners. My big question for you is, what do you want out of life, long-term? Strictly from reading your OP, it looks like you are looking at the world and trying to follow the typical trends. Being a sheep, basically. I love that you mentioned less frequent hair washing. I would like to politely add that I used to only condition the ends of my hair. I learned fairly recently that doing that is supposedly unhelpful, and have since started conditioning all over including the scalp. I was worried it would make my hair greasier and other undesirables, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the results... soft hair, very manageable, less splitting. Try it!

Worded perfectly. "hurt" is a good word I think. My husband says he chose the word "betrayed". The trust in women to be 'sugar and spice and everything nice' was betrayed for so many countless men. It truly horrified me when I finally woke up to these realities and realized what a b*tch I was to my husband all those years. So much time lost that we could have been enjoying a RP relationship, and we can't get back that time.

I am glad you found out that feminism sucks! Here are my WORDY replies to your questions. Strictly my own experience/opinions speaking, so bear with me... 1) As your hair grows out, you can cut off the damaged parts. Perhaps aim for less coloring/heat styling to aid in your hair's rejuvenation. If you can stand to get through the few weeks it takes your scalp to adjust to it, I suggest NOT washing your hair more than twice a week. It's also way less time consuming. To dry your hair: I recommend …

A few things I learned over the years about female friends (generalizations only, of course there are many exceptions): 1) Always assume that anything you tell them, they will inevitably tell someone else they know. 2) They are as a general rule more comfortable mooching off of people than guys are. 3) They are pretty selfish. 4) They are not very honest when talking to another woman. Just playing devil's advocate: I knew a woman who hyphenated hers and her husband's name because she was a performing artist. Her name was almost like part of her resume everywhere she went. I'm going to assume most women who hyphenate or keep their maiden name are NOT in that situation. And even if they are, I still don't think it is really necessary.... Just had to throw that out there

Good words from all the commenters. I'd like to add some of my experience in case it will help you. At times in the past, I would suddenly realize how unnecessarily upset I was getting, and would calm down almost instantly and try to be a good listener. It took me some time (years) to learn that I sometimes will need to allow my husband the chance to work out his steam and that I should not expect him to immediately keep pace with my sudden change in attitude. I know you're averse to chemicals, but using a little CLR (calcium, lime, rust remover) once or twice WILL kill those hard water deposits. You can rinse the heck out of it when you're done, and after that you're set to maintain it. However you end up solving your deposits/stains, I have found that the best way to avoid water deposits building up is to dry the tile after a shower. Sucks slightly, but might be worth it if you'd rather not have to clean it deeply later on.

My reply is similar to the other ladies here... Your man seems to not want to be with you long term. My gentle suggestion is: Figure out what it is that you want and go from there. If you want a fling, you've probably got it. If not, maybe time to move on. Just throwing this out there.... Sex can (and often does) result in pregnancy and other unpredictable and/or undesirable side effects. I am a supporter of the "save yourself for your spouse" mentality.

Strictly my opinion: If you want to marry your SO and think you may end up at least sometimes spending time with his family, do your best to be nice to his father.... but DO NOT (!) tear down your man in front of anyone. A very good reminder. Thank you. I should remember these skills in my day-to-day conversations, but I often neglect to use them.

Good point, and I have come a long ways when it comes to picking battles, but I know I still SUCK a lot. Also, another point I might even add to the OP: Sometimes, the things I discuss with my husband that end up with him feeling disrespected/untrusted are things that he brought up first himself. This is making me realize that my listening skills (or lack thereof) are largely the source of my problems. Tangent side-note: I think I am trying to untrain myself of all the crap my mother did to my f…

Fantastic! Thank you for the well thought-out answer. | Do you interrupt or cut off their thoughts? Yes, unfortunately, although I have been working at it for several years. It has improved a lot, but I know I still do it sometimes. I interrupt hubby WAY less now, because he has gently corrected me on it. He hasn't been needing to do so for a while. When I do slip up and cut him off, I usually realize it right away and try to STFU and apologize immediately. I'm less practiced at not interrupting…

Make sure you initiate sex often. Make him know that you want him and that you appreciate him and value him, in everything you can.

In my experience, no matter what you do or how much you have to organize, everything has to have a "home". To me, that is the foundation of organizing a space. Many people suggest purging your stuff more thoroughly, but even if you have too much stuff, it can all have an assigned location and will make everything infinitely easier. This helps me at work and at home.

Thanks Baker, this is very good advice. I was half afraid to learn that I might be right about the 'playing devil's advocate' not being helpful.... and that is because I have probably been doing it for years (probably most of my life). I think I'm beginning to realize that I quite likely irritate a lot of people in conversation, and almost all of them have been 'too nice' to tell me so. The first one to really do it is my husband. I am supremely grateful for your reply; thanks Bakerofpie

I'd guess a large portion of wives from before the last century or so were fairly RP. It seems that our "entitled" culture and the influence of feminism has made RPW role models kind of rare these days. I know a lot of you don't prefer religion entering the subject matter, but honestly, those are the first people I think of as RP role model wives. From biblical times to current day, I'd guess that most of the submissive wives in the world follow(ed) some sort of religion or another. I can't back…

I'm glad you guys found those concepts early on! My husband suffered through 12 years of me being somewhat of a jerk before he discovered TRP... We could have put those years to different use. Oh well, it's water under the bridge, and we are happier than we've ever been now.

I hope this response isn't too wordy. It seems appropriate to be somewhat wordy since the topic asked for techniques. ~ Cooking: I think it's fantastic that you cook nice meals. I don't know what you cook specifically, but my opinion is, don't lose that skill. Your family will always appreciate it, and you will get faster at it with time. In the meantime, do you have a big freezer? Many of your made-from-scratch sauces (and other meal ingredients) could possibly be frozen so you can just make a …

"Do we simply accept it as part of the world we live in..?" My answer to that question is yes. Men are hardwired to enjoy looking at us, and to enjoy us being friendly to them. Maybe sometimes they "take it the wrong way." We don't need to give it much more thought than just to see it for what it is, and to keep steering things (conversations, interactions) toward a business-appropriate level. Slightly off on a tangent: This is true regardless of whether someone is single, in my opinion. My boss…

I agree. Too much weight is put on the "men vs women" at work BS. People need to be responsible for their behavior, no matter their gender. Besides, people (men, or women) are such crybabies in general nowadays, you can find yourself in trouble with HR at work over the dumbest, simplest, most harmless thing... like cracking a joke at lunch.

Ignoring a man's attention is the quickest way to squash his desire to keep giving it out. In my experience. Not to say that ignoring all advances in the workplace is the right course of action, obviously. I just like that you picked your battles and you had success with it by your own methods.

Thanks to someone commenting in another post, I realized the goal I want for this week: ~ When my husband asks "how was your day" (at my job), I'll keep the it BRIEF and to the point. ~ If and when he asks for more details (on anything), I'll give him the choice of option A) the quick version, or option B) the word-vomit version.

That could have been part of it. But the thing that makes me scratch my head is the very gal saying "It probably won't surprise anyone that I broke up with the boyfriend." We're missing some info that would explain why she thinks we wouldn't be surprised.

If he likes foreplay, perhaps try doing some belly-dancing or other feminine dancing, complete with at least a little bit of costume. When I first tried this out on my hubby (which I did discuss with him briefly a week or so prior), I was pleasantly surprised at his reaction. I had been worried he'd think I looked silly but instead it was a very arousing experience for both of us. Your husband, from what I gather based on your comments here, seems like a guy that appreciates it when people (incl…

Good call.. I agree that is a thing that should be mentioned. We gals (I speak for myself at least...) DO tend to "blah-blah-blah" our way through a so-called conversation. What you said is a good reminder that much of the time, our men sit through our white noise very patiently.

Well worded; I agree... I think this article presents itself in a way that can be used to glean what the reader wants to get out of it. I'm glad other people feel the same way. While I can see what you mean about kids getting "the shaft" if the mom avidly follows the father over the kids, I still think that if he has good goals for the family as a whole, it's worth it in the end. Disappointment, and even its tragic relatives (things like financial hardships, lacking useful goods in the home, etc…

Well said... I wish more religious sites and other media would provide some "practical applications" for everyday living. Even though I am religious, I find it's not as useful to follow a religion if I can't help others see the benefits of my life choices. It would be nice if more people attempted to demonstrate similar things. And yeah, people being judgemental is very frustrating. We're all guilty of it but it's not our place.

Thank you for the advice.. I'm still learning how to use reddit. Sorry you don't like religious blogs. I don't mind them when they are not zealous. This is even coming from me, a religious person. I like it when written publications are soft spoken and well thought-out (whether the info is harsh truth or just fluff), no matter what the background of the information or the person writing it.

I kind of got a kick out of #6. I'm no wonder-cook or anything, but I can't help but respect a person/man/woman who knows how to create meals at home regularly instead of rely on others to do it for them. A woman who cooks for her husband, and later for her family, is somewhat of an artist in my opinion.

Thank you for posting this type of article. It's nice to see people out there that value staying committed to their spouse even if they married young. I think the pros outweigh the cons for marrying young, as long as both partners are truly committed to a long-term relationship, without letting those little plan B "outs" like divorce or cheating become a ready temptation.

Not sure if this would apply to you or not, but also be willing to submit to your man when you find him. Bossy women are super duper unattractive to men. I would like to think I should know, as I am a recovering bossy woman.

Agree, but I'd guess it's not usually not a conscious, thought-out process. "Thank you" feminism, for the heavy influence of criss-crossed gender roles in our environment. :/

I'm here because of my husband finding TRP. It has literally changed our lives. I still have a long way to go (some bad habits to finish smashing down), but my husband and I have never been closer. Our sex life took off like crazy since he started talking to me about some of the awful things I'd been doing for so many years.

Bakerofpie you remind me a LOT of myself a few years ago. My husband has helped give me advice on situations like this and one of the things he has said that has actually worked is to "blow it off" with zero emotion. Kind of like getting a kid to stop throwing a tantrum by ignoring it... It has to be obvious that the actions they are doing have absolutely no effect on you. I used the above method on a guy at work recently (who is a very nice, married guy, not at all trying to go anywhere with hi…
